  4. Pan fried chicken livers, hearts & gizzards. I expect it is making a comeback in 'rediscovery' of local american foods. Prices are up because you are competing with dog food companies for the delicacies...

  5. Happy Mother's Day to all mothers!

Having children and raising a family is the best and highest calling for womankind. How sad that so many women these days are businesswomen, working in cubicles and returning home to their cats, wondering why their lives are so empty.

And R.I.P. Erma Bombeck, who had the gift of humor that wasn't mean-spirited or nasty, but which lightened everyone's spirits. I miss her more than ever when I see & hear something that passes for "comedy" these days, but which more resembles spitting bile in public! Sadly missed.

  6. I liked Bombeck. Her humor was in the same vein as so much American humor was before it was degraded by the likes of Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy.

I only have one small nit to pick with her. The grass is not greener over the septic tank. It's greener over the leach field.

  8. What's that in the upper right-hand corner? "Immigration: Can It Be Controlled?" Wonder what Time's position on the issue was back then.
