"You might blurt out things as he did the other day when he said China is no competitor of ours. Now, I can kind of get where he was coming from on that, meaning you know we are the best and nobody can beat us. But that’s not how it came out and that is not how he said it.
"He is gaffe-prone and always has been and I don’t think that he’s less-so now. He’s got a lot of strengths, he’s got a huge body of sympathetic support in the party, and he’ll be able to raise money. He’ll be in this, but it’s a high-wire act and I’m not sure he can make it."

Had Biden run in 2016, he likely would have won because at the time he carried little baggage compared to Hillary's fleet of 18-wheelers to carry her cargo. Donald John Trump could never say, "Lock him up."
Plus, Biden is not a drunk.

In more than 200 years, 2 sitting vice presidents have been elected to the presidency. A dozen or so have run.

In more than 200 years, one former VP has been elected, Nixon. He got re-elected but didn't make it through his 2nd term.
We need a constitutional amendment disqualifying VPs and former VPs from running for President. It would save us all a lot of money and agita.
History shows that it is impossible for Biden to win in 2020. He could not have won in 16 for the same reasons.
He may be nominated but, as Johnson said of second marriages, it will be the triumph of hope over experience.

O was being ridiculed nationwide for his absolute dependence on his teleprompter (to the point where, in his first press conference in the WH, he was taking supposedly random questions from the press and reading his answers off his teleprompter).
ReplyDeleteBiden, at the height of this, gives a speech at (if memory serves) the Air Force Academy. Anyway, it was outdoors somewhere out west. Using a teleprompter, but it was windy and the the wind blew it over with a satisfying crash.
Biden then launches into what can only be described as a stand-up comedy routine, riffing on the theme of "don't tell Obama" that he broke his teleprompter.
