Democrat obstruction of the presidency continues as Obama-appointee Judge Richard Seeborg sided with a liberal group in stopping President Donald John Trump from executing his constitutional duty as commander in chief.
Seeborg is the same obstructionist judge who earlier blocked the Trump administration from restoring the citizenship question on the census that Obama had unilaterally removed in the 2010 Census. That unconstitutional decision is on appeal.
Fox News reported, "The so-called Remain in Mexico policy was one of the primary innovations of former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, whom President Trump announced on Sunday will be leaving her position after 16 months in the job.
"Judge Richard Seeborg in San Francisco granted a request by civil liberties groups to halt the practice while their lawsuit moves forward. He put the decision on hold until Friday to give U.S. officials the chance to appeal to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals -- which, thanks to Trump's aggressive judicial appointments, is now more friendly to conservatives than it has been in more than three decades.
"The launch of the policy in January in San Diego at the nation's busiest border crossing marked an unprecedented change to the U.S. asylum system, government officials and asylum experts said. Families seeking asylum typically had been released in the U.S. with notices to appear in court -- and, conservatives have charged, they often can't be relied upon to show up.
"The American Civil Liberties Union, Southern Poverty Law Center, and Center for Gender and Refugee Studies, which brought the lawsuit on behalf of 11 asylum applicants and several other organizations, praised the ruling in a statement Monday."
So Seeborg does not work for American citizens. He works for illegals.
Making asylum seekers remain in Mexico and prove themselves makes sense. It is not up to us to prove they are not refugees; it is up to them to prove they are.
Given that they have not sought asylum in Mexico, the whole thing is a sham.
President Trump has a duty to protect our borders.
He also has a duty to protect us from authoritarian judges. We really must strip district judges of the power to enjoin presidential edicts.
President Trump and Mitch McConnell are replacing socialist judges like this Seeborg fellow. This is why I refuse to dump on McConnell.
If memory serves me correctly, I believe asylum seekers are required to stop at the FIRST country they come to. Thus, these are not asylum seekers but an invading army of grifters.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. Unfortunately, leftist judges don’t care about the law.
DeleteMitch is playing a dual game. He's dirty.
ReplyDeleteThere are some judges just demanding to be tarred and feathered. We are letting them down.
ReplyDeleteRemember, the tar has to be hot enough to stick to the skin and keep the feathers attached. Once the tar has cooled, the skin comes off with the tar. A nice ride out of town on a rail helps to cool things. - Elric
DeleteNo reason to let it cool. Besides, many towns no longer have train service. Just chase them down the road with a pitch fork and torches. Tar and feathers burn nicely.
DeleteA fence rail used before barb wire made by splitting a log into thinner lengths. They'd make the poor guy balance on the rail as it and you were carried out of.town on the shoulders of men carrying it. While everyone else was profaining your past and future at the top of their lungs.
DeleteConsidering a bunch of them were probably drunk they may have gotten too close with their torches and the tar caught fire. That would really be a story for church the next morning
DeleteIf one judge can keep something from happening, why can't another judge overturn the first judge's ruling?
ReplyDeleteWhen you start contemplating the judicial system, it's a lot like the philosophical foundation of the earth. Except instead of turtles, you'll find that it's judges all the way down. - Elric
DeleteThere is nothing in the Constitution that empowers federal judges to stop a President from fulfilling his duties.
ReplyDeleteSo why does anyone pay attention to them?
Irrational FEAR of overturning Marbury vs Madison.
ReplyDeleteFederal immigration law very clearly allows the President to do this. This is a bold power grab by the judge and is in direct violation of the law.
ReplyDeleteTrump should publicly say that he will not adhere to this ridiculous ruling, and will proceed within the letter of the law. This judge has no authority to supersede federal law.
SCOTUS will ultimately decide in favor of Trump.
