In 2017, the Pulitzer committee gave the national reporting Pulitzer and $15,000 to David A. Fahrenthold of the Washington Post for such stories as, "Trump: ‘I regret’ lewd chat in 2005."
I thought to myself, they cannot go any lower. They did the next year by awarding the New York Times and the Washington Post a joint national reporting Pulitzer for their Russiagate hysteria with such stories as, "Undisclosed On Forms, Kushner Met 2 Russians."
Even Joe McCarthy was not that fearful of Russians. He went after communists.
Now that we know after 500 witnesses and 2,800 subpoenas that there is no evidence of illegal collusion, the president has asked the newspapers to return their Pulitzers. Not a single one of the 20 stories awarded held up after the exhaustive Mueller investigation ended.
In 2016, the press was complicit in Hillary's inept attempt to keep the people from electing Donald John Trump president.
They failed.
For the next two years, the press was complicit in the unconstitutional effort to oust President Trump by any means possible.
Again, they failed.
Now the press wants him to drop this.
Atlantic Monthly reported on President Trump's strategy in the 2020 election.
Citing an unnamed source, the magazine said, "They’re already prepared to attack reporters. 'Any reporter who tries that will be hit with 30-second spots of all their ridiculous claims about collusion,' said the source, who, like others interviewed for this story, requested anonymity to describe private conversations. 'Their tweets have all been screencapped. It’s all ready to go..
"('It's the same thing we've been doing the last two years. We're going to hold the media accountable when we see fit' an RNC official clarified, adding that this would include digital clips shared on social media.)"
The magazine pointed to a letter the campaign sent to TV executives cautioning them about booking Russiagate liars, including Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Democrat Representative Adam Schiff of California, and Democrat National Committee Chairman Tom Perez.
The worm has turned. For two years, newspapers, magazines and television networks have openly targeted the president for impeachment, exaggerating his every move, turning ordinary and normal activities (such as replacing 93 U.S. attorneys) as unusual and unprecedented.
The Washington press did the dirty work of the deep state because the deep state is the source of news in Washington. I always suspected we had too much pro-government reporting. President Trump has exposed the newspapers for what they are: Pravda with sports coverage,
Now the journalists must pay. As Sean Hannity put it, "The deep state’s day of reckoning has now come." That includes its pets on press row.
President Trump has the truth on his side. 54% of Americans now realize this was a politically motivated investigation.
The press will pay.
Atlantic also reported, "Mueller Was Trump’s Nemesis — Now He’s His Greatest Asset."
That story said, "the next two years could be just as busy for Trump’s legal team as the past two. But their mission is likely to stay the same: All along, they took the view that Trump had committed no crimes and couldn’t be indicted under Justice Department policy. They largely saw their role as preserving Trump’s electability — and that included inoculating him from a potentially damning final report from Mueller."
They knew he was innocent.
The press however assumed he was guilty and the report would prove it. The press acted without caution. Carelessness carries a price. I wish them luck on paying that because they will.
Hoo boy, will they pay.
Michael Goodwin spoke for us in a column today, "After proving his innocence, Trump shouldn’t have to be humble."
A recent podcast interview on The Byron York show on Richochet of "John Dowd was President Trump’s lawyer during a critical time in the Mueller probe" was revealing.
ReplyDeleteWhen Trump would be negotiating with foreign leaders it would come down to the question of whether Trump would be around to see the deal through. The MSM and the Democratic party would always step up their attacks when Trump left the country. It was a concerted assault on US foreign policy, international relations, national security and the efforts to bring liberty of people around the world. You don't ignore that.
This wasn't apparent but is so obvious now. They didn't even try to hide it during the last summit with North Korea.
Rank and file Democrats have to make a decision. If they stay with the Democratic party and its anti-American, antisemitic leadership, they are not good people. They are as despicable as those they vote for.
JK, you are correct regarding the Democrats and their lacky's the press, they threw everything they could at our President and FAILED completely onto their miserable faces. They either didn't care or forgot about the millions of us who voted for him and it made us angry.
DeleteI believe their failure has turned against them as from what has been reported these past two days that over 34% of the attendance at the Michigan rally were Democrats, it is about time.
We the people have been putting up with the hateful demonic leftist press and Democrats far too long it is time for retribution.
Kate
Don't forget baby killers!
DeleteAlready, the MSM and Dem-friendly Republicans are beginning to talk about moving on, letting bygones be bygones.
ReplyDeletePersonally, as a Trump supporter, I want skulls.
Lots of skulls.
JimNorCal
I want a pyramid of skulls.
DeleteYes.
DeleteWould they want less if the roles were reversed? We all know the answer to that.
A man gets shot dead while robbing a convenience store and they report it as alleged robber. President Trump got no such courtesy. The press can go feed worms.
ReplyDeleteThrow enough beanballs, and you WILL get your ass kicked.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly where they are headed, getting their butts kicked.

ReplyDeleteGreat piece, It's about time the RNC served its purpose. They should be doing the same thing down-ballot.
ReplyDelete"54% of Americans now realize this was a politically motivated investigation."
ReplyDeleteBut what does the press publish and broadcast? "40% Say Mueller Report Doesn't Vindicate Trump"
It's like they can't help themselves.
54% believe the 40% are stuck-on stupid.
DeleteThere are always 47% voting for the Party regardless of who is on the ballot. 7% die- hard Democrats have seen the light.
Fighting back!
ReplyDeleteWhat a concept.
Someone should notify the GOP!
Bingo! It's about time the GOP grows a pair.
DeleteAnd yet, so far... the only people charged, blackmailed into "confessions", and facing fines and/or jail... are Trump's people. The Deep State has been exposed, but so what? They still control the DOJ, FBI, etc.
ReplyDeleteRemember that power in Washington is demonstrated by flaunting the rules. If, as I fear, Trump is unable to convert even this naked display of felony and treason into real consequences, the Deep State will emerge *stronger*, not weaker.
Flouting the rules
ReplyDeleteThe snakes that tried this to President Trump are still in the grass. If there was one shred of remorse or apology, moving on might be possible. But there is not one drop of regret from the Democrats or their lackeys in the press.
ReplyDelete"Mueller Was Trump’s Nemesis — Now He’s His Greatest Asset." Mueller was never Trump's nemesis- just his greatest asset in waiting. Innocent people don't fear police investigations.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I can tell you from personal experience that is not true. Innocent people don't fear the truth... but the police and the courts don't care about the truth... except when they hate it.
DeleteThe Press brought this on themselves and I hope it hurts! They deserve it!
ReplyDelete"The owners who were carelessly irresponsible in spreading lies, those owners deserve to lose business. The editors who spread lies should be fired. The reporters who claimed that false speculation was actually facts, should be fired. The "expert guests" who lied should not be invited back on the shows."
ReplyDelete<< This should be the Rep line for Dem media which spread lies.
Including The Atlantic (one of the least bad, but still bad).
"Hoo boy, will they pay."
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice, but is not gonna happen.
in normal circumstances, you'd be right... but this is Trump wielding his very big stick on a bunch folks he already beats over the head with. Jim Acosta might voluntarily give up his WH press pass after this..... This will be delicious.
Delete" ... Rank and file Democrats have to make a decision. If they stay with the Democratic party and its anti-American, antisemitic leadership, they are not good people. They are as despicable as those they vote for ..." Yes: this! Deplorable, even. Belong in a basket, too. I am in a blue State. I talk with neighbors and "friends" but they see me coming and step aside, as it were. My own 8th grade grand-daughter is being denied my counsel since (in her words) I must be a "denier" (of AGW). Also all of the encroaching Commie-dom, just ask.
ReplyDeleteWe learn from the wisdom of those made wise by experiencing the world and paying attention whilst they do so.
DeleteOr we learn by the world putting us through the grueling schoolings of the school of hard knocks.
If we survive the world's hard knockings, we become the wise whose wisdom will reliably be disregarded by a portion of our progeny.
The vexing thing is that, whilst you can know you are capable of protecting yourself, you also know you are helpless to protect those you love from themselves.
Be the haven from the storm, the sanctuary available and offered, for those you love who pull their heads out of their own asses long enough to see exactly what world they are experiencing via being here.
Your love and wisdfom can only be offered, to those you choose to offer it to, and then it's on each to choose to accept and appreciate the value of being loved by you.
It is frustrating as it is Designed to be.
Still, what else of any value is there to existing?
