Rahm rues what he wrought

Rahm Emanuel, the 44th mayor of Chicago, is upset. Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar accused him and other Democrats who support Israel of dual loyalties.

He sputtered in shock tha-tha-that's anti-Semitic.

In a column in The Atlantic, Mayor Emanuel expressed shock that a Muslim would be anti-Semitic.

Emanuel apparently thinks you have to be a redneck to be anti-Semitic. How can this be? Some of his best friends are Muslim.

In his column, he wrote, "As mayor of Chicago, I denounced Trump for his anti-Muslim policies. I worked to make Chicago a welcoming city to Americans of all backgrounds, creating the Office of New Americans to help immigrants and refugees in my city, which has been a gateway for immigrants to the United States for generations. I appointed Seemi Choudry, herself the daughter of Pakistani immigrants, to lead that effort."

Welcoming city, eh?

Unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers led a mob in March 2016 that prevented Donald John Trump from holding a rally in Chicago.

Now I am supposed to feel sorry because a bigot Democrats imported from Somalia is questioning his loyalty and promoting anti-Semitism.

Make no mistake, Democrats under Clinton relocated Somalians to Minnesota, introducing a people who could not easily assimilate into a white-bread Christian society.

Emanuel was part of that administration. He was part of Obama's administration, bailing before its inevitable failure. Obama's legacy is now just a cheap Nobel he did not earn.

The mayor wrote, "No one is questioning the right of members of Congress and others to criticize Israeli policies. But Omar is crossing a line that should not be crossed in political discourse. Her remarks are not anti-Israel; they are anti-Semitic."

Change her identity to white Christian male. Do you think for a moment Emanuel would be as calm about her anti-Semitic remarks?

For a tough urban mayor who once sent dead fish wrapped in newspapers to an adversary, Emanuel sure is naive.

He said in his piece, "I often say that only in America could the son and grandson of immigrants become the chief of staff to the president and the mayor of one of its largest cities. I fully expect Muslim Americans to follow this well-trod path, as we’re witnessing already with the election of candidates like Ilhan Omar to Congress."

Omar is not assimilating. If she were, she would not wear her headscarf. She would not insist on being Muslim first, then American.

This is what Emanuel and other Democrats allowed. Instead of insisting that Fake Refugees like Omar become American, they encouraged Somalians to remain Somalian, which is weird because Somalians screwed up their country so bad, many of them had to leave.

Will they screw up America as well? Omar seems headed that way.

First she may take the Democrats out.

  1. Well you are wrong about the headcovering issue. It is a Christian tradition dating back to the first century. Otherwise, good article.

    1. Nice twist. When St. Paul wrote that he was instructing the new Christians to obey local customs. Same thing with eating and drinking certain things in the presence of people who are offended by them.
Jesus said to not add to or take away from GOD'S law, so please point to an old Testament passage that requires women to be veiled.

    2. Religious wars of conquest were also a Christian thing before they became a Muslim thing. The Byzantine Emperor Heraclius, for example, explicitly made his wars of reconquest against Persia religious wars. Does that mean that religiously-motivated war isn't a Muslim thing today because Christians did it first? I say no. Christians DID do it first, but they stopped doing it centuries ago. Same with the hijab IMO.

DID most Christian women wear head coverings to church in centuries past? Yes. Do SOME Christian women wear them to church today? Yes. Is Christianity in general associated with women wearing head coverings today? Um, no. But Islam is absolutely associated with women wearing the hijab. The prevalence of women wearing hijabs in public is actually a great proxy for the influence of traditional Islam in a society.

All this to day that I think you're not comparing apples to apples here.

    4. Sorry Don, you are incorrect (Gasp!!) As a Pastor for 40 years, I often came in contact with ladies who wore a hat whenever they left their homes. The difference is that they did it willingly as a part of their belief system; not forced to do it because of their religion.

  3. I left the ELCA Lutherans years ago because I got into a conversation with a lefty (femalepastor about the Somalis (BTW this is one of the many reasons that I'm not a ELCA Lutheran) she said-"we need to make areas less"white to diversify our social strata."
I said why includ eMusilims? they are the ones murdering the Christian population over there?" "We must give everyone a chance to experience this country." A Somali Christian who has to stay away from certain Somali groups in the US, and barely escaped with his family from Somali warlords, "Said: the Moslems in Somalia are not interested in assimilation!" the Pastor said:"OH they will come arounde eventually." Well no, they didin't and won't..
Thank you ELCA,(and Catholic Family services.) Now ask me why I'm a Baptist..

  4. Cold weather also made it more difficult for Hmong (I believe that they used to be called Montagnards during the Vietnam War era) to settle in urban MN. That was back when assimilation was mainstream.

Recently Tom Brokaw castigated for telling immigrants to assimilate faster.

Assimilate or Balkanize, those are our choices.

  5. "Omar is not assimilating. If she were, she would not wear her headscarf. She would not insist on being Muslim first, then American."

No religiously observant Muslim can assimilate at all. Their ideology specifically forbids it. There really isn't any such thing as "Muslim-American" because that is a contradiction in terms. A Muslim believes that Allah specified the exact conduct that every man and woman must follow, as set down by the Prophet in the Koran, and that cannot be changed or modified, under pain of death. It is forbidden to leave that ideology, under pain of death. Turkey's PM Erdogan said, "There is no moderate Islam. There is only Islam." For once he told the truth!

Those beliefs, which have caused innumerable deaths, vast misery and destruction for 1400 years, are not those of free Americans!

  6. Reporters need to ask Omar if she supports the practice of forced female vaginal mutilation! Then ask Pelosi, that will be interesting!

    1. "Reporters?" Who are these people that might ask a Democrat an uncomfortable question? They don't exist! At least they don't work for CNN, MSNBC, the WaPo or the NYT, that's for sure.

The "reporters" of whom you speak are mythological creatures. Today's propagandists and activists wouldn't even consider asking difficult questions of a Democrat!

  7. Ask Omar if she believes in the practice of forced female vaginal mutilation, which is occurring in Minnesota and America.

  8. 'Change her identity to white Christian male.' I tend to believe that white Christian males are very supportive of Israel and the Jewish people. Of course, many pretend to be Christians that aren't.

  9. This is the Democrat Party’s internal Cultural Revolution.

Omar is one of the Green Guard brandishing Little Green Books of the thoughts of Chairman AOC.

The older Democrats are the revisionists.

Stand by for the “class struggle”.

  10. Good article except for the headcovering issue. You can wear a hajib and still be dedicated to American values, just as a turban-wearing Sikh might do.

    1. Nope.

If you choose islam, you cannot.

Pretty twisted of you to try and connect the Sikhs with the muslims.

There is no more duplicitous nature tban the muslims. Which is why the uniparty hogs, democrat division, have screwed themselves, once again, by thinking the uniparty can control the muslims.

    2. I vote Republican, am a strong supporter of President Trump, pay taxes; my father obm was a decorated Army vet, my husband was in ROTC in college, and we think America is a great country which really needs a border wall, photo voter ID, and legally-armed civilians. However, as a married Orthodox Jewish woman, I do wear a headcovering. My personal preference is a snood or scarf, but many of my coreligionists wear wigs which are less obvious. So, while I think Omar is an anti-Israel, anti-Jewish illegal resident, criminally unfit for her position, and a paid stooge for a foreign power, I do admire how she always coordinates her headscarf with her outfit.
Omar is there for the religious Muslims; Tlaib, who does not cover her hair, is there for the "liberal" yet still affiliated-with-Islam Muslims (like liberal Conservative/Reform Jews, except they support Arab countries and other Arabs).

  13. Apparently questioning or disagreeing with Israeli policies is now considered anti Semitic, much like disagreeing with Obama policies was considered racist. Well I agree with Omar: many in Congress do have dual loyalties. And for some it appears they put their loyalties to Israel above those to the United States.
