Libs excuse: Would this be a story for a male senator?

Washington journalists are lousy at dispensing facts, but good at telling conservatives what Democrats think.

The presidential season is just kicking off, and they are telling us to expect double standards that favor women -- because that worked so well for Hillary.

Josh Kraushaar, Politics Editor at National Journal, is upset that there is opposition research on a Lady Senator who will enter the race on Sunday.

He tweeted, "Would this be a story for a male senator?"

He has a point. When was the last time the press reported something bad about a male Democrat?

OK, there was a story about the Democrat attorney general in Virginia wearing blackface.

But when was the last time before that?

OK, there was a story about the Democrat governor in Virginia wearing blackface.

But when was the last time before that?

OK, there was a story about the Democrat lieutenant governor in Virginia raping a woman.

By Virginia standards, Frau Klobuchar’s scandal is as limp as Lamar's wrist in "Revenge of the Nerds."

HuffPost wrote, "At least three people have withdrawn from consideration to lead Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s nascent 2020 presidential campaign — and done so in part because of the Minnesota Democrat’s history of mistreating her staff, HuffPost has learned."

As lame as it is, the story does point to her executive abilities, of which she seems to have little.

Democrats are ill-served by not allowing their candidate to be tested by fire because Donald John Trump is a fireball who will turn any pinprick into a gaping hole with one tweet.

I write this knowing Democrats will ignore me. They are greasing the wheels to nominate a woman, stick a pussyhat on her, and portray President Trump as a sexist -- because that worked so well for Hillary.

This time it will be different.

Just like socialism.

  1. The notion that everything negative that comes out about a possible candidate is the result of oppo research demonstrates how dumb these people are. It is very newsworthy, I think, to discover that a candidate for the presidency has been regularly abusive to his or her staff. It says a lot about the temperament of the individual and his or her fitness to lead. Frankly, it suggests to me someone who is unwilling to accept responsibility for her own actions and is always looking to blame someone else for their own errors. For such people, the buck stops elsewhere.

  2. IMHO the WaPooPoo has decided to go all in for Kamala Harris and this story, and the one about Liawatha's TX Bar Assn registration, are to preempt any other female challenger.

    1. I've been telling my left-liberal-Dem friends since election night 2016 that their 2020 nominee will be Kamala Harris and they will get no say in the decisionmaking process. Exactly nothing has happened since then to me dissuade me that I was right. My left-liberal-Dem friends, OTOH, still think there is going to be a nomination contest. There won't be. The donor class has decided on Kamala. WaPo is just the publicist.

Yeah my thoughts as well. You can write the puffing princess off at your peril. She will be there one way or 'tother. The body has gone but the stink remains.

  3. If she's too hard to work for then she'll get the campaign staff she deserves.

  4. When John McCain (may he rot in hell) ran for president there were plenty of stories of how mean and nasty he was with his staff - all true.

Why should mean and nasty women get a pass?

  5. Ann Althouse also thinks the WaPo & donors want to anoint Kamala. It's going to be a long long year before the primaries really start with real voting.

In the meantime, Trump's boom seems set to mostly continue this year -- better jobs, more jobs.

  6. Idk. The "Willie Brown's ho" factor doesn't sit right with a LOT of people, left and right.
