Covington Catholic kid starts suing

What do Elizabeth Warren, Jim Carrey, and the Catholic Church have in common?

They all maybe chipping in for Nick Sandmann's first car -- a Lamborghini Veneo Roadster.

In fact, if there is justice in this great nation, Sandmann and his classmates at Covington Catholic High will own a whole fleet of Lamborghini Veneo Roadsters.

Senator 1/1,024th and the rest were vipers who pounced on a kid to virtue signal their social justice purity in an age gone mad with Mob Rule.

They made his life hell.

He received death threats.

His school disowned him.

But he weathered his encounter with Fake News and survived. Now he has an attorney, and he will prevail.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported, "The lawyers representing Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann and his family said Friday they have sent letters to media outlets, individual journalists, celebrities and Catholic organizations as the first step in possible libel and defamation lawsuits.

"The list includes 50-plus names of organizations or individuals: from presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren to actress Alyssa Milano; individual journalists including Maggie Haberman, Ana Cabrera and David Brooks; national media outlets like the The New York Times, CNN, GQ and TMZ; and the dioceses of Covington and Lexington as well as the archdioceses of Louisville and Baltimore."

I am not a lawyer but it seems as though Sandmann has a good case for libel.

One, what they said about him was untrue. Two, those lies put him in harm's way as there were death threats against him. Three, he is not a public figure. Four, he is a minor. Five, they did damage his reputation.

One of his lawyers, Todd McMurtry, told the newspaper, "They know they crossed the line. Do they want 12 people in Kentucky to decide their fate? I don't think so."

This case can go a long way in stopping the mob mentality that plagues our media. The Richmond Times-Dispatch on Friday did not waste a second in demanding Democrat Governor Ralph Northam resign after we learned about his black face/klansman picture.

Good grief.

The crazies are winning, aren't they?

This legal action may end this.

I also hope this case teaches news organizations that they cannot have "reporters" blasting out opinions on Facebook and Twitter -- or anywhere else.

News organizations should ban all reporters from Twitter and all social media because on social media, they display not only their bias, but their ignorance.

Their stupidity may cost their employers a few bucks this time.

The full list of targets includes: The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN, The Guardian, National Public Radio, TMZ, Atlantic Media Inc., Capitol Hill Publishing Corp., Diocese of Covington, Diocese of Lexington. Archdiocese of Louisville, Diocese of Baltimore, Ana Cabrera, Sara Sidner, Erin Burnett, S.E. Cupp, Elliot C. McLaughlin, Amanda Watts, Emanuella Grinberg, Michelle Boorstein, Cleve R. Wootson Jr., Antonio Olivo, Joe Heim, Michael E. Miller, Eli Rosenberg, Isaac Stanley-Becker, Kristine Phillips, Sarah Mervosh, Emily S. Rueb, Maggie Haberman, David Brooks, Shannon Doyne, Kurt Eichenwald, Andrea Mitchell, Savannah Guthrie, Joy Reid, Chuck Todd, Noah Berlatsky, Elisha Fieldstadt, Eun Kyung Kim, HBO, Bill Maher, Warner Media, Conde Nast, GQ, Heavy.com, The Hill, The Atlantic, Bustle.com, Ilhan Omar, Elizabeth Warren, Kathy Griffin, Alyssa Milano, and Jim Carrey.

    2. No. Savannah Guthrie, Andrea Mitchell, and Chuck Todd are all with MSNBC. They are scum.

  2. One thing I don't want to see here is the usual line about 'settled out of court with an undisclosed settlement.' The Covington lawyers should insist that the numbers are broadcast as loud and as wide as the original spurious allegations.

  3. I'd love to see the attorneys take a big bite out of these people, especially the diocese and the school. They were supposed to protect the kids, not join the mob.

  4. One of the top libel/defamation lawyers I saw on TV said it's virtually impossible to sue anyone in congress. It seems that about everything they say can be considered part of their job, and it's basically up to their constituents in the next election to decide if it's harmful or inappropriate: at least that's my layman's understanding, and I could be far off. But does anyone doubt they've made themselves immune from prosecution. Didn't think so, and that needs to change.

    1. I would hope that the sexual deviant slush fund that Congress set up might indicate that they are afraid of being sued, but it might just be to keep their 'reputations' intact.

Totally agree with this, and it needs to 'go viral'. The MSM won't cover the settlement even if the dollar amount is made public.

  9. I counted 54 names in the list. I am sure he would win. If Sandmann can get half a million each and split with his lawyers 50-50, that is a pretty nice nest egg of $13M. And considering some of the companies involved he should be able to average that half mil.

  10. How many of these kids will get rejected by Ivy League and other top-tier universities because of this fiasco? If they are, how do they prove it?

Meanwhile, David "Attention" Hogg is going to Hahvaard despite mediocre grades and test scores.

You say that like it's a bad thing. With $13M who needs to go to college?

    1. You can't spend the money until you get it. First you gotta win, then you gotta collect. Even if they win it could easily be ten years before they see a dime.

      IOW - It's best to have a back-up plan.

  12. It's a shame when the news media has to be sued in mass in order to get them to admit they were wrong.

    1. A lot of lawsuits could be averted with a simple apology. And a quick apology and efforts to undo the damage can make a big difference to a jury. Remember the lady who won a buttload of money from Mickey D's when she spilled hot coffee on her crotch? The jury thought the McD's executives were arrogant and cold blooded so they awarded punitive damages to teach them a lesson.

  14. Alyssa Milano (writing a cheque): "What good is all this money to you? You know you can't take it with you."

Nick Sandmann: "I can. I'm only going as far as the bank."

    1. Nick: "This check isn't gonna bounce, is it?"

Alyssa: (sighs) "I only have half that much in cash. Will you settle for that?"

Nick: "Only if you show me your boobs."

      Alyssa: "Okay"

Nick: "And let me touch them."

Alyssa: "That's the same thing Derek Jeter said just before he gave me herpes."

Nick: "Nevermind. I don't want to touch them now."

Alyssa: "What's the matter, kid? You a Red Sox fan?"

  16. Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell - excellent. Hey does anyone know when and why he stopped calling himself F. Chuck Todd? Rush still calls him that - I thought his name was Francis Charles Todd - but it's been scrubbed from that paragon of facts, Wikipedia. I KNOW he went by that for quite a while.

  20. the one that makes me most happy is Haberman from the Times. Arrogant biased hypocrite. Her and Sulzberger just had the nerve to sit with the President and ask him to stop talking about fake news. These people are so clueless it's astounding.

  21. Suing helps, but only suing and winning LARGE amounts will, slowly, end the Dem attack lies; at least reduce them a lot.
$1 million from each is not too much of an award.
