President proves media wrong. Again.

Elyse Perlmutter-Gumbiner did not let the holiday spirit keep her from writing Orange Man Bad stories. The NBC Newser filed a story on Christmas, "Trump becomes first president since 2002 not to visit troops at Christmastime."

In his eight two-week holiday stays in Hawaii, Obama took a few hours off to visit troops at a base on the islands.

A few hours ago, President Donald John Trump proved the media wrong. Again.

The president and Melania visited troops in Iraq.

The New York Times reported, "President Trump visited American military forces in Iraq on Wednesday, a surprise trip and the first visit to troops stationed abroad in a combat."

Likely the surprise was a security measure. Placing the commander-in-chief in harm's way demands secrecy. But I am a writer, Jim, not an expert in security.
Before the media learned of the visit, Matthew Rozsa saw the situation as disloyal.

Rozsa wrote, "Trump's loyalty to his country has been called into question since the beginning of his presidency due to allegations that his presidential campaign colluded with Russian government officials in order to win the 2016 election. It was exacerbated last week when Trump suddenly announced that he was withdrawing US troops from Syria, a decision that seemed to benefit Russian geopolitical interests more than those of the United States — and prompted Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis to resign in protest."

I wish the story about President Trump not visiting troops in combat were true because I do not want my troops in harm's way.

  1. They had to keep it secret so John Brennan wouldn't alert Iranian anti-aircraft.

  3. For a moment I thought I was hearing the crowd at one of his campaign rallies! That USA! chant is pure love.

  4. So very true! Also, include John F'ing Kerry in that statement!

  5. I knew that the "I am alone" drama was a major distraction, redirecting the press attention away from something important. Trump continues to play the press like a Stradivarius.

    1. Good catch! I only realized that after I heard he was in Iraq. Letting the press lament how Trump was ignoring the troops like simultaneously gloating how Trump was "all alone" in Washington this Holiday season.

    2. Right now he is playing them like a soccer ball... Getting his kicks in... Just for kicks?

  6. Obummer visited the Kaneohe Marine Corps base because it was a very short drive from where he was staying in Kailua AND he could play golf and swim at the base without the Secret Service having to order the beach or golf course closed to the public out of concern for security. Never mind that unlike the considerate HW and W Bush families who stayed in DC over Xmas, Obama's vacation trips to Hawaii uprooted many dozens of staff who had to leave their families behind over the holiday.

    1. I agree with most of that. Consideration for the People was anathema to Mr. Obama though. Inconveniencing the public was a big thrill for him:

    2. I seem to remember a wedding that was scheduled to happen on the Course in Hawaii having to be moved because ObamAA- wanted to play a few rounds.

  7. The President's timing is incredible. He constantly makes the MSM look like Idiots.
    Wait...
    Ah, they ARE idiots...

    1. They only appear to be idiots from a distance. Once you get close, you see how you gave them too much credit.

    2. Ex-prez O. said that he was a blank screen for people to project their wishes on him.

Mr. President is like a jack light that catches them staring agape.

  8. At the time, I thought it was odd was that there was no Barron mentioned as being with them in the White House. Melania would not let her boy spend Christmas day without his parents unless there was good reason. Now I know the reason. cm

  9. My brilliant, observant wife said yesterday that Trump thrives on surprise and chaos and the one thing that would hurt him personally would be if he was ignored. Problem 1: The media is totally reliant on Mr. T for ratings, and no one else comes close. Problem 2: Mr. T is in fact a stable genius, and this isn’t a fair fight. Problem 3: God is rooting for Mr. T.

    1. Your wife is, if you quoted her accurately, the typical female who presumes emotional effects not felt by men.

To be "hurt" by being "ignored" is a female emotional quality.

A male uses being ignored, disregarded, dismissed, etc., as a means of identifying those who are depreciating prone.

A female seeks worth in the opinions of others.

A man defines and creates worth on his own.

  10. Now the media is falsely attacking him for giving the troops campain material. He was signing MAGA hats (the troops own hats) and Trump 2020 hats (the troops own hats). The media continues firing and continues missing.

  11. With the trip all planned, what's the likelihood that Trump planted the story about never visiting the troops knowing the NPCedia would go viral like a bunch of mindless robots?

My guess is that Trump left in the evening so the people who had to travel with him would be home Christmas morning.

  12. "Elyse Perlmutter-Gumbiner"...?

It's kinda like Charles Dickens decided to write a scene for the Star Wars Cantina.
