Mexico wants to end caravans

The Washington Post told its readers on February 11, 2017, "The next Mexican president won't like Donald Trump much. Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Margarita Zavala, the two leading candidates, both say Trump will fail."

Fake News.

The real deal is Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) won and immediately agreed to replacing NAFTA. President Enrique Peña Nieto accommodated him and entered re-negotiations, giving AMLO a replacement as an inauguration gift.

Unlike Obama, Mexicans believe in a peaceful transition of power.

AMLO took office this weekend and hit the ground running.

The Western Journal reported, "Mexico’s New President Quickly Signs Legislation Aimed at Shutting Down Migrant Caravans."

Mexico wants the USA to aid Central America to keep people from leaving.

America wants a wall.

But Mexico is willing to keep the caravan migrants. The Western Journal said, "On Saturday, new Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador signed an agreement with El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to increase jobs in the region as a way to stem the flow of U.S.-bound migrants."

Mexico News Daily reported the day before the inauguration, "Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras will sign on to a Central American development plan in Mexico City Saturday that seeks to stem migration by tackling its core causes of poverty and violence, the Honduran government said this week.

"Honduran Foreign Secretary María Dolores Agüero Lara said the plan will be signed while the respective presidents of the three countries are in Mexico for the swearing-in ceremony of president-elect López Obrador.

"The Comprehensive Central American Development Plan will be 'aimed at generating opportunities on Mexico’s southern border' and in Central American countries, Agüero said."

Mexico will kick in $20 billion.

Which happens to be the pricetag for The Wall.

  1. Well, they certainly have those billions, what with the enormous cash flowing from here to mexico, via the lawful mexican citizens and the unlawful mexican invaders sending cash back to their families in mexico.

This not even including the vast quantities of cash being made via illegal activities well known to be the mexico, and central and south american traditional means of doing business.

  2. Mexico will kick in $20 billion.

Which happens to be the pricetag for The Wall.

    We'll see.

    1. We'll see Mexico economically developing their southern border area while at the same time they'll have economic control over who enters the US.

So having a wall between the US and Mexico is a win-win situation to the government of Mexico... and the US could now have Mexico build a wall on their northern border and pay for it in a deal between the two leaders.

    2. Have Mexico pay for the wall you say?! Where have I heard that before?

The thing that Progs hate about Trump is he's right so often.

    3. Nope, I didn't say Mexico would pay for it... US could make a deal where Mexico builds the wall and the cost of building is paid by the US... you could call it foreign aid?

  3. A less corrupt Mexico with all of its resources and tourism opportunities should be a wealthy nation. Maybe they are headed that way. I hope so.

Our press has been very wrong about AMLO. big shock.

    1. Mexico is a great place with hardworking citizens. Unfortunately they've been ruled by a dozen or so families forever. AMLO is like Trump, not a member of the ruling class. I am optimistic about Mexico's future under the new trade agreement.

  4. If the Mexican government wants to end it they can. Historically over the past couple of decades though they won't. We will see. In the meantime we need to build the wall.

Who was the first to build a barrier between Mexico and the US? It was Mexico in Nogales where the city straddle the boarder back in the late 1800's. Their mayor wanted to stop US Citizens from entering Mexico illegally. Imagine that. And you thought the US was the first didn't ya? Go look it up, it's apart of American History. It's just not PC though.

  5. Control the border, both the physical, geographical border AND the economic/financial transactional border, and mexico, along with central and south american countries stuck in 19th century type "goverments", will be far more cooperative to MAGA interests.

No other nation on the planet can be MAGA if America fails to be MAGA.

    MAGA is the mission.

    MAGA is America.

    Be MAGA....or....go fuck yourselves.

  6. AMLO's brand is associated with a crackdown on corruption, which is exactly what the country leads. Its tax rates are lower than ours. He wrapped his campaign in populism, but then so did Trump. I see a lot of common cause.
