Macron shows globalists are cowards

"France’s prime minister on Tuesday suspended planned increases to fuel taxes for at least six months in response to weeks of sometimes violent protests, the first major U-turn by President Emmanuel Macron’s administration after 18 months in office," Reuters reported.

This was the French global warming tax.

But they said if we don't act now, it will be too late.

Of course, they have said that for 30 years.

Backing down to rioters is cowardice, and President Emmanuel Macron was not man enough to actually walk it back. He sent Prime Minister Edouard Philippe to do it.

“The French who have donned yellow vests want taxes to drop, and work to pay. That’s also what we want. If I didn’t manage to explain it, if the ruling majority didn’t manage to convince the French, then something must change,” Philippe said.

“No tax is worth jeopardizing the unity of the nation.”

The French blog ¡No Pasarán! said, "It is not wrong to say that the demonstrations were caused by the government's decision to raise gas prices. What is missing is that this is just one of several draconian measures dating back half a year, i.e., ‘tis the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

"For the past four to five months, the French government has done nothing but double down on bringing more and more gratuitous oppression and more and more unwarranted persecution measures down on the necks the nation's drivers and motorcycle riders.

"In fact, the imposition of ever harsher rules has been going on for the past decade and a half or so — whether the government was on the right or on the left."

But the global warming tax was the focus of this protest. They wore yellow jackets because the French require yellow jackets to be stored in a car to be worn in case of an emergency.

Bate Felix of Reuters wrote before the six-month delay in the tax, "France's Macron learns the hard way: green taxes carry political risks."

That is the problem with a republic. You cannot force people to march. You must lead.

Which is why the globalists want to eliminate republics in favor of a world of European Unions.

So in six months the execution of the gas tax will again be on the front burner... so what will be different then?
