France surrenders to the French

CNN was so giddy a month ago that Jeff Zucker felt 5 foot-7 inches tall. Could be the Cuban heels he was wearing. The channel's headline read, "Macron rebukes nationalism as Trump observes Armistice Day."

Fortune magazine was more explicit, "Macron's Armistice Speech Sends Message to Trump: 'Nationalism Is a Betrayal of Patriotism.'" How silly. Nationalism and patriotism are synonymous.

And how stupid because feuding with Donald John Trump, president of the United States of America, is an invitation to disaster -- which has befallen Macron.

Macron today capitulated to the Yellow Jacket rioters who have turned Paris into Europe's first no-go zone not run by Muslims.

Corporate media in America is alarmed and couched Macron's submission as heroic. Maybe he can relocate his capital to Vichy.

Some Trump supporters are saying he negotiated with terrorists. That's being kind. He merely gave them what they want. Again.

CBS wrote, "Protesters spent days demanding that Macron speak publicly about their concerns, but it's unclear whether the responses he offered will be enough to quell the dissatisfaction. Some protest representatives have said more demonstrations will be held Saturday, following the ones in Paris that turned violent during the previous two weekends."

The public does not want to pay more taxes on gasoline in the name of a discredited theory of global warming.

Thomas Lifson at American Thinker is enjoying the Trumpenfreude surrounding Macron -- all brought on by Macron himself.

Lifson dusted off a statement Macron said when President Trump withdrew from the Paris climate agreement.

Macron said, "Tonight, I wish to tell the United States: France believes in you.  The world believes in you.  I know that you are a great nation.  I know your history, our common history.

"To all scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, responsible citizens who were disappointed by the decision of the president of the United States, I want to say that they will find in France a second homeland," Macron said.  "I call on them, come and work here with us to work together on concrete solutions for our climate, our environment.  I can assure you France will not give up the fight."

Now he is folding like a chair.

Lifson wrote, "In the process of alienating four fifths of the French public, Emmanuel Macron has combined arrogance and disregard for the lives of ordinary people with the disdain globalists in all the advanced economies express for Trump."

What entertains me most about the snobbery of these boneheads is that they love to pretend they are smarter than everyone else, even as they buy into junk science and alienate their electorate. Hans Christian Andersen's "The Emperor's New Clothes" still applies today.

The Trumpenfreude List is here. Macron is now one of my favorite T-listers.

  1. OMG, I had forgotten that quote. Perfect!

"they will find in France a second homeland," Macron said. "I call on them, come and work here"

Remember the thousands who renounced their citizenship to stand with France? Me either.

  2. Macron is going down like a lead pipe in water.

  3. Chers Poseurs Americains,

We will now be taking back the name "The Resistance". Because, unlike you, we are actually #Resisisting, not just throwing a temper tantrum because our Bribe Queen lost an election.

    Grow up.

  4. Seems like only yesterday May, Merkel, Macron and Princess Justine of Canada were palling around with Obama planning to thwart Trump at every turn. They were so smug and confident. How's that workin' out for ya guys?

  5. Ah yes, "the fight." Always the same thing with the communists, its always a fight. Well macron just got his fight shoved in his face and he didnt like it much. These people are mental, on one hand its all love peace and tolerance, on the other they are constantly agitated and looking for the fight. The us and the rest of the world are tired of these tyrant incompetent hypocrites.

  6. France is a case study in Thatcher's socialism warning: Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money.

Socialism. The greatest poverty generator the world has known.

  7. If he dons a yellow vest he's going to look just Like Louis XVI wearing a liberty cap not long before he was imprisoned and executed.

I've brought this up before, but even the communists in France are against the EU. I was there just before the referendum on the EU Constitution that was famously rejected, despite the fact that the person responsible for putting it together was Valery Guiscard-d'Estaing, a former French president.

Most of the vote no graffiti I saw was communist. And America had nothing to do with it. We were in fact engaged in a propaganda war with most of Europe over our "blood for oil" campaign in Iraq. Remember freedom fries?

  8. FTA:" "Tonight, I wish to tell the United States: France believes in you. The world believes in you. I know that you are a great nation. I know your history, our common history."
As in" "Hellllppp! United States save our froggy arse!!

  9. France surrenders to everybody!
