Deep State's shutdown lies

FBI families will spend Christmas without a paycheck. This president promised Mexico would pay for the wall but innocent people are now paying the price for another lie. Our thoughts are with hardworking public servants and their families.

That is another lie by the worst FBI director since Bungling Bob Mueller. Actually it is two lies.

First, they will be paid. The paychecks will be posted this week as usual. The pay period covered is before Congress shut down the government on December 21. Thus, the money was already appropriated by Congress.

Second, President Donald John Trump did not shut down the government. Congress did. Unlike previous government shutdowns, the president has not vetoed the budget because Congress has sent him nothing to veto.

That is no small thing. That puts the blame squarely on Congress which has yet to pass the budget or even a continuing resolution.

Lost in all the reporting that I have read is this one distinct fact. President Trump cannot be blamed because Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell have failed to act on the House resolution.

But that is the type of witless reporting that I expect because the Washington press corps is filled with literal Never Trumpers who never learn.

  1. McDonnell has been huge on judges and a few other things. But he is still a creature of the swamp and a brother-in-arms to Schumer.

Thank heavens for the Freedom Caucus in the house and the few Senators with spines.

  2. Sen. McConnell was Majority Leader before Trump's election so does not consider that he owes Trump anything. On the other hand if the Roll-Over Party slips back into being the Senate miniority Granny will want to be on the right side of Sen. Schumer.

  3. "No man's life or property is safe while the legislature is in session." - Mark Twain

The same holds true for a federal congress, and when the government is closed, Congress can do less damage.

Heck, in Texas the legislature only meets every other year. That's an inspiration for Congress, imho.

But I guess promoting their own power, prestige, and profit is a full time job for congress critters.

Keep it closed. Let 'em eat wall.

    1. Let 'em eat wall! Damn right!

Mark Twain also said, "It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctively native American criminal class except Congress." He was right there too!

    2. Mark Twain had a realistic assessment of our esteemed lawmakers:

"Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself."

"All Congresses and Parliaments have a kindly feeling for idiots, and a compassion for them, on account of personal experience and heredity."

  5. To continue to refer to propagandists as "journalists", "reporters", "newscastors", and such is an error in being overly courteous.

There are no schools or colleges of journalism, just training schemes to churn out liars.

The abundance of liars blogging this immense landscape called the world wide web is both expected and easily recognized.

To continue to refer to the liars using the prehistoric means of print and broadcast is an error begging for correction.

    Flush the fucking toilet, already.

Nothing in tbeir but floating turds of lies.

  6. Any government employee should be ashamed of themselves for poormouthing the way they all do (State & school employees as well as Federal)... and in another era, they would have been. But today, they all pretend they are one day's pay away from destitution and starvation ..and then their compadres in other gub'ment jobs take up the chorus to make it sound like people with 6 figure incomes are gonna have to go pick their kids' Christmas from the city dump.

  7. Don, you really should stop describing the propaganda as "witless".

It is duplicitous, deceitful, manipulative, deceptive, demented, degenerate, derisive, contemptable propaganda.

"witless" implies a smidgeon of sincere honesty as base.

Their base is precisely the opposite.

Dimwitted is not the same as ham handed.

And rotten, maggot packed ham at that.
