Please pray for Chris Matthews and Chris Cuomo

Chris Matthews and Chris Cuomo appear to be deeply troubled souls. On the surface, they are millionaire cable hosts commanding large audiences.

But for some reason they resent religion.

Two stories at illustrate this.

One quotes Matthews as saying, "Thoughts and prayers … I’m sorry, but that should be outlawed."

Mister Free Speech.

He went on to say, "I know it’s well intended in some cases. It’s a throwaway line by a staffer who knocks off some script, some product, some wordage for somebody political to make it sound like they give a damn."

And it would not be a commentary by Matthews without an obligatory shot at the President of the United States Donald John Trump.

Matthews said, "For the president, it seems like just another cultural button to push. You know, like moving the embassy in the Middle East. One of these things like it will get him some votes in the evangelical community. He says things like protecting your Second Amendment rights. The culture war you’re up against is brutal. They just push these buttons. And these people, ‘Oh, yeah, amen to that, Mr. President. You’re one of us. You’re one of us.’ It’s horrible. Not even about actual safety. It’s not about people shooting each other, plugging 12 people in a bar. It’s about this almost neo-religious notion of the Second Amendment — as if it’s God created."

Actually, we are endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, or so I heard in grade school.

Then there is Cuomo, who also attacked the very idea that we should keep people in our thoughts and prayers.

He said, "You mock those who lost loved ones because if you gave it any thought at all you would never walk away from any of these without figuring out a better way to deal with them.

"And prayer? You think leaving it to God is the answer? We pray for strength, we pray for wisdom, for resolve, but we clearly don’t want to act on any of those here, so what are you praying for?"

They are sad and unhappy people who made it to the top and hate it. Pray for them to become unconflicted.

  2. This is Cuomo,do not waste your prayers, and I am Catholic, this part[In other words, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York shares the churchgoing habits and social views of a sizable number of the 68 million Americans who have identified themselves as Catholic] was to clean him up.This came from the NYT.
"He goes to Mass, though not every Sunday. He considers himself a practicing Roman Catholic, yet avoids calling himself devout. He opposes the death penalty, as church leaders do. But he is divorced. And he supports same-sex marriage and abortion rights, stances sharply at odds with church teaching.

In other words, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York shares the churchgoing habits and social views of a sizable number of the 68 million Americans who have identified themselves as Catholic in recent surveys]. His brand of faith is so commonplace — at least in New York — that it was barely mentioned during his campaign last year for governor.'

    1. Churches have been infiltrated with leftists who have changed them from following the word of God and allowed them to be more like secular aligned gathering places. For leftist politicians this is great because it allows them to claim to be a Christian, while in reality they are not.
I was told by a pastor that the Bible was wrong in the matter of sexuality, and so many other things, and that, finally, the churches are correcting these things. She, said we are more enlightened people these days, and know better than when the Bible was written the truth about sexuality. That most of the Bible was allegorical. I asked if this is true, why is Christ not believed to be an allegory, she replied He very well might be.
This is the type that leads church leadership. This is what is taught to Divinity students.
I don't think we should pray for these leftists as much as we should pray for mercy for the end times, be it the end of this nation which is surely coming given the election stealing that is now commonplace, and the left's growing power through the world, aligned to bring the US down.
I pray that those who are the enemy of God be confounded, and that God consider intervention, if it is His will, to thwart the evil that is growing in this nation and world.
We are in deep trouble. Yet those of the left who perverting God's word are in deeper trouble, even if it is not in this world where justice will prevail.

    3. Even the current pope is leftist! Can't believe he is supposed to be a descendant of Peter.

    4. No, he's a son of Father Karl.

      Just another infiltrator.

    5. My wife and I consider leaving the Church, then we figure if we wait long enough, it'll leave us. Right now it has its coat and hat on...

    6. To John Holton

After Mass today I had a conversation with our priest,he is fresh out of the seminary, first year with our church.I say when in the creed it says Jesus was crucified for our sins, well I told him it used to say he died to remove original sin .I said when the Catholic Church 50 years ago decide they wanted to look more non Catholic, that is when it changed. So he said well he died for all sins that is why we have confession.I said true but without confession it is only original sin.I said non Catholics like to say this as a way living their lives as they chose and getting a free ticket.Well he finally saw what I was getting at,I said the Church lost it's identity trying to look like the other guy,And to prove it I said look at the Lords Prayer, you say it in Mass and never say Amen after but deliver us from evil, you say few prayers than you add the non Catholic "For thine is the power".I said that is how your lose your identity.I said Father,I was brought up in the old Church and I say Amen at the end of the Lords Prayer.I will not change it,but he has something to think on.

  3. My thoughts and prayers are with Matthews and Cuomo.

But their religion is leftist politics so it would require the US to elect another president who hates America to make them happy again. You know, another one like the Kenyan. They want perfection on this plane of existence, since for them none other exists.

Since I am a Christian, I understand that perfection is not to be expected on this plane, but waits for me and my loved ones later.

And God bless you and yours, Don. You do great work.

  4. Lord, I pray that if it’s your will, you’ll open the eyes of these men as you did with Paul on the Damascus road. In your son Jesus’ name, Amen.

  5. It is long past shocking for politicians to be CINO, Catholic in Name Only. Now the Pope seems to be a CINO.

  6. To be a fully ensconced leftist requires atheism. It matters not whether some superficial aspect of religion continues to be practiced, but what is required is proper signaling. Thus, it is necessary to continually call out and denounce fellow co-religionists whenever possible for any infraction real or imagined. And it is also necessary to signal to others on the left solidarity with other nonbelievers. So you see denunciations of the church combined with utterly slavish church attendance. Rather than leave home they make a point of going home every day so they can slap their mother in the face. This is true hatred, and I have seen it at it's worst even in some priests.

  7. The parable of the wheat and tares applies here. God does not sell fire insurance. You are either wholly God's, or you are not. That doesn't mean perfection, but it does mean striving for it - hating sin as God hates it.

Romans 1:18-32 also applied to these reprobates.

I remember Peter "shedule" Jennings doing this in the wake of 9/11, so Chrissy does have a point, but people like him think they're too intelligent to believe in God. They'll tell you they believe in science, but they don't even buy that when it goes against the agenda.

Cuomo OTOH is just a failed mind.

  9. Is it a throw-away line like the democrat apology of "I'm sorry if I offended anybody..." that never recognizes the person they actually harmed.

  10. Surber:

"They are sad and unhappy people who made it to the top and hate it. Pray for them to become unconflicted."

    For once I FUNDAMENTALLY disagree.

First, my compassion became exhausted long ago. Let God visit the Full Weight of the Law on them.

Second, the prayer premise violates God's well-documented MO.
He brings repentance by introducing SUPREME conflict, often Life-Threatening conflict to such a person's life, the kind that leads one to question the things held most dear.

So if one is to pray specifically for such an outcome, the above points would be helpful.

  11. I pray for mercy on God's chosen. I can only pray for these leftists, these haters of God, that His will be done.

Jesus did not pray for the world, but we pray for our fellow man. I pray they see the light.

    Nevertheless: His will.

  12. "I wonder would the apathy of wealthy men endure
Were all their windows level with the faces of the Poor?
Ah! Mammon's slaves, your knees shall knock, your hearts in terror beat,
When God demands a reason for the sorrows of the street,
The wrong things and the bad things
And the sad things that we meet
In the filthy lane and alley, and the cruel, heartless street."
