Beto sees Obama as the kiss of death

Obama cost Democrats more than 1,000 seats in Congress and state legislatures across the land. Congressman Robert Francis O'Rourke, the Democratic candidate for the Senate in Texas wants nothing to do with Obama.
"I don’t think we’re interested [in an endorsement]. I am so grateful to him for his service, he’s going to go down as one of the greatest presidents. And yet, this [election] is on Texas," O'Rourke told the Texas Tribune.

He pointed out he ousted an incumbent congressman in the 2012 Democratic primary who was endorsed by Obama and Clinton.

Democratic strategist Adam Hodge told The Hill that Obama was a problem for O'Rourke.

Hodge said, "Beto is not going to be helped by an Obama endorsement in Texas. Quite frankly, he’s got his own brand in Texas."

These days, I don't think Obama could help a Democrat get elected dog catcher of the Choom Club in Hawai'i.

The Tribune noted, "Meanwhile Ted Cruz has accepted help from President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., who campaigned for Cruz in Wichita Falls on Wednesday. The president has also announced an event with Cruz sometime this month in what he said would be the 'biggest stadium in Texas.'"

  5. So, Beetle O'Rourke thinks Obama is going to go down as one of the greatest presidents? I guess the same way Michelle will go down as one of the most beautiful, just behind Eleanor Roosevelt and Mamie Eisenhower.

  8. Robert Francis O'Rourke supposedly committed a hit and run when a young man. But he is a Democrat so I guess he will get a pass.
