Beto Barbie is the new Rick Lazio

Remember Wendy Davis -- Abortion Barbie -- who was going to flip Texas blue in 2014? She raised lots of money and got lots of national press. Governor Greg Abbott schlonged her by 20 points.

This year, Beto O'Rourke will flip Texas blue in his Senate race against Republican Ted Cruz.

Beto Barbie gets lots of national press and he just set a fund-raising record.

Woo Hoo!

The Texas Tribune reported he took in $38.1 million in the last three months.

The report said, "The haul more than tripled Republican incumbent Ted Cruz's fundraising for the past three months, which Cruz has said was over $12 million. O'Rourke has consistently raised more than Cruz in the race, but this is the widest gap yet. The $38.1 million is by far the largest amount raised in a quarter by a Senate candidate, surpassing Republican Rick Lazio's record of $22 million in 2000 for his bid against Democrat Hillary Clinton in New York."

Ah yes, Rick Lazio. He was the congressman who was going to flip New York red in 2000.

Lost by 12 to Hillary.

Beto Barbie will do better. The New York Times poll shows Cruz ahead by 8 points.

  1. Yeah, no, yeah. A candidate who campaigns on the right of NFL players kneeling during the anthem in the state of Texas has 0 political skills and any ability to understand what his constituents want.

    1. Democrats always hope their lying media partners can make up the difference.

  2. If NY Slimes says Cruz ahead by 8 pts it will actually be a Cruz landslide in Nov.

  3. Most of that money is coming from outside of the state. And ironically since Beto plays up his latino working man appeal, he is far wealthier than Ted Cruz, who incidentally is Cuban-American.

    1. Robert Francis O’Rourke has no Latino or Spanish blood. A fraud like most democrat candidates. They have to lie to get any swing votes.

    2. Are you sure he's not a native American, he does have high cheek bones.

    3. Maybe so Manila. His father could be Sergeant O’Rourke from F-Troop and his mother one of the squaws living near Fort Courage.

  4. And just where do you think the money is coming from? Follow the money. Beto has spent more time fundraising in Hollywood than in Texas. (Okay, overstatement perhaps but he has spent a lot of time taking money from the leftists in California.) I do not think Texans outside the urban areas of the longhorn state are quite so taken with Beto as the leftists on the coasts are!

    1. The girlie man that ran in the special election for Price's open seat in GA raised most of his money from California. He spent radically more then anyone had in history for a house seat.

      He lost.

  6. Cruz wins by double digits.

Lots of Cruz voters hang up on pollsters.

Others lie and say they are voting for Beta O'Rourke just to mess with the polls.

  7. Cruz will thump "Beta". Tens of millions of dollars wasted by the left! It's a Daily Double.

  8. Ironically, if 'Beta' comes any closer than 20 points (which is what Abortion Barbie got), the press will spin it as 'see, Texas is turning bluer all the time'!

That's not as bad as thing as you might think. It definitely encourages Dems to come and toss money down a sinkhole so they can't use it elsewhere.

  9. Why is spending months raising funds to pay for his new job instead of working productively, considered praiseworthy? VSGPOTUS Trump showed it is possible to underspend and overwhelm. That should be the new normal. Let their be a base amount each candidate needs to accumulate, and let whatever they raise above that limit go toward the state, city, whatever seat they are campaigning for. See how fast they get elected then. Otherwise, these people are nothing but glorified beggars: "Will govern you for food, wine, women, and song."-

  11. Lazio lost by walking across the debate stage right up to Clinton, angrily brandishing a white paper and confronted her little cowering Blasey self with it as though he was about to repossess her house, jalopy and kids. He was toast with every woman. and even some men, in NY in those few seconds. The screaming anti Cruz louts are doing the same work for Ms Beta who really is more of a NYC guy than a Texan. Manhattan, where he attended the same college as Obama, often has an acid like effect on the soul.

  12. If money determined the winner, then Steve Forbes would have been elected president in 1996. He lost, of course. He ran again in 2000 and lost again.

  14. Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke is about as Hispanic as I am. As a matter of fact, I'm half Irish and half Italian and I understand his parents are of Irish descent. What a fraud

  15. Thank heaven for Robert Francis O'Rourke. He sucked $38 million out of other races where it might have done some good, or rather ill. Imagine $19 mil each thrown into NV and AZ. Imagine $1m each added to 38 House D campaigns. Bless his drunk-driving heart!

  16. He's a cop-hater. He told a group of college students cops "are the new Jim Crow."

The people of TX support the police almost universally.
    His shtick is Unacceptable here.
