America's no-go zones

Americans sneer at the no-go zones for police in Europe where Muslim immigrants can do what they want.

But what about Chicago, where only one in six murders is solved? Entire sections of the city are shooting galleries.

The Chicago Tribune reported on dozens of weekend shootings this weekend.

"The bloody toll comes as tens of thousands of concertgoers converged downtown for Lollapalooza, which drew heightened security and a large police presence following the country’s deadliest mass shooting at a Las Vegas music festival last year," the newspaper reported.

"In contrast to the joyous scene downtown, the brunt of the violence early Sunday was felt on the West Side, where 25 people were shot in separate attacks between midnight and 6:50 a.m., according to police figures."

The police faithfully protect downtown, but the West Side is a different story. The South Side, too.

Guess where criminals go? That's right, where the cops aren't.

"The largest shooting, which injured eight people, happened in the South Side’s Gresham neighborhood as a group, including a 14-year-old girl, was standing in a courtyard just before 12:40 a.m.," the newspaper reported.

The murder rate in Chicago is climbing.

From a Chicago Sun-Times story on the murder clearance rate, "The police department’s bleak clearance rate could be one reason why Chicago had more murders than New York and Los Angeles — combined — in 2016.

That's the plan.

"In 2008, the police department had 1,252 detectives — and only 922 of them in 2016. In September 2016, Mayor Rahm Emanuel promised to hire 200 more detectives over the next two years, but those ranks won’t actually rise by that full number because of retirements," the newspaper said.

Someone makes money off this.

African-Americans -- the overwhelming majority of those unsolved murders in Chicago -- pay the price.

  1. One article noted at least 57 murders to commemorate Barry's 57th Birthday which was not celebrated in any of the other of the 57 states.

  2. Americans sneer about no-go zones? They sneer about simpletons who believe in no-go zones. Heh, they sneer about the tooth fairy too.

  3. Being from Chicago, let's remind everyone the South Side has been like this for over forty years now.
African Americans are paying th price as you say, but they have brought this unto themselves.

Until such time they get it into their heads that their own people are the problem and not guns, the carnage will continue!

This blatant display is what you get when gang bangers and worse are allowed to exist in their current form.

  4. one of those shot was a 14 year old girl out at 1 am. I always notice media reports never seem to comment on the obvious questions these incidents bring up. It's like they want to not ask uncomfortable questions.

  5. Natural selection. The cops let the4 hoodla sort themselves out.

Clearly, Tippytoes doesn't want anything done and, God forbid, if a cop did to a dindu nuffin what the Chicago cops did to Dan Blather, Tippytoes would let the media crucify him.

    1. Natural selection indeed. For all the pearl-clutching and hand-wringing of the media and politicians, the violence is ENTIRELY gang, and therefore drug, related. The powers that be don't want to do anything about it.
It is however, an excellent training ground for trauma docs and combat medics.

  9. Cities handcuff the police by outlawing proactive policing then act surprised when crime soars.

  11. Sorry, but this story can't be true.

Why, guns have been banned in Chicago, there's not a single gunstore, and they're under Progressive rule; they have lots of diversity, and hardly any white privilege at all.

For the above reasons, Chicago must be the safest place in the world!

After all, the media wouldn't lie to me about those things, would they?

  12. To answer the question "What about Chicago" the simply answer is who cares. Chicago is a corrupt Democrat run "Sh*thole". The Democrats don't care because they caused the problem, through the don't admit it. The won't enforce the law because the agenda says minorities are oppressed and they can't bring themse4lve to admit they have a problem, so they ignore it. Maybe they consider it population control through murder and drugs.

  13. This story is always reported as a "bad thing." In time, that will change.

    1. I had no choice but to go to Chiraq two weeks ago. We left Kansas in the evening, drove through the night, arrived just prior to the scheduled appointment, conducted business, grabbed a quick lunch and hit the road, not stopping for fuel until well clear of the combat zones.
We used a rental vehicle and took no personal effects, just enough cash to cover road tolls.

  15. I grew up in Chicago, back in the 60s it was a great place. Lots of things to do and getting around on the buses or the El was was fast & cheap. It really is a beautiful city.

Now? Not with your **** as the saying goes.

    1. Same here. It was a really great city to grow up in then. Now? Forget it. I left 30 years ago and haven't looked back.
