This was the second time this week a restaurant booted a woman member of the White House staff.
Liberals argue that this somehow is not the same as a baker refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding.
They say this is freedom of association; a public place of business can discriminate but a Christian baker has no freedom of religion.
Freedom of association is an odd cause for liberals. They forced the Rotary Club and other groups to include women, and are getting colleges to ban fraternities because they are all male.
But suddenly a public restaurant does not have to serve certain people.
Freedom of association was the argument against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Many Americans were upset. How dare the government tell restaurants they have to serve black people.
These were the same people who had no objection when the government told them they could not serve black people under Jim Crow laws.
By the way, the Supreme Court has ruled that Colorado can force Christians to bake wedding cakes for gay people. All the court did was say the state cannot openly mock Christianity and religion in general in the process.
Sanders, wisely, did not make a federal case out of the matter.
But others should, and are.
"The increasing personal nastiness toward people who work for President Trump reflects the left’s understanding that they are losing. Nastiness reflects desperation not strength. They can’t win the argument so they use nastiness. Sad and dangerous," Newt Gingrich tweeted.
Electing super majorities in November may end this Scorched Earth approach to politics.

ReplyDeleteI've encountered and my family more open prejudice from liberals than conservatives. I'm mixed race. I was at a Starbucks (under duress I might add.) when the "Let's talk about race! " thing was being scrawled on your overpriced cup of burnt coffee by a barista of
unknown sex and species..
The soy poisoned and under weight creature handed me the cup,grinned through its ringed lips-and I said:
"Race? which one? I'm all three.."
This is why I call businesses actions like the Dead, er, Red Hen-"Starbucking themselves.." TG
They have annouced closing 100 stores. With competition growing like crazy here in NY, going to one is hardly necessary to get coffee. Since most are not vagrant fragrant, cleaner and smaller and more expensive, they carry more prestige on the logo and are more pleasant to be in. The Red Hen will suffer in the end. Sanders is not an unlikable person but for trashing her the owner labled her place as only fit for political fanatics. She will probably end up on the Surber Trump doomed list.

The left is frantically fighting back but it is accelerating the crash. The bubble burst on them. The elites and politicians on both sides thought they had the secret to rule for ever. The Democrat party is on its last legs unless they can find a way to get out of the way of the crash. More and more Democrats and middle of the road voters will be escaping across the political border to join our side as a flee to safety.

Two versions on funny and another tragic: classy family with adorable kids told to leave because of who she works for, kids burst into tears and the jack booted owner rails at them about her high moral standards and virtue.The owner is wearing a "I'm with her" logo and a "resist" pink two cornered hat.
