Robert Mueller's unconstitutional raid on the president's lawyer -- with Democratic Party operatives grabbing privileged communications -- is the last straw.
Mueller should not be fired.
Mueller should be arrested and charged with political espionage.
That won't happen, but I trust that something calmer and more effective will occur.
I hope that the president will empower Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz to raid the offices of Mueller and every one of the two dozen Democratic lawyers he put on the public payroll with absolutely no vetting by Civil Service or Congress.
Furthermore, Horowitz should raid their private law offices and their homes.
Then -- and only then -- fire Mueller and his henchmen for abusing the authority of the special counsel.
What a government we now have. The FBI covered up the real high crimes and misdemeanors by Hillary, Huma Abedin, and the rest while pursuing Fake Crimes concocted by Democratic Party operatives.
Sadly, this unconstitutional spectacle is only the latest attempt by the Democratic Party to invalidate the last election and overthrow the president.
If you vote for any Democrat from senator down to county surveyor this year, you are condoning this un-American activity.
I am consoled by this thought: Mueller has just stepped into President Trump’s trap. When President Trump said “ask my lawyer”, the trap was laid. It is now sprung…and we will see Mueller get his comeuppance.
ReplyDeleteI believe the left knows they have nothing and so are goading Trump into firing Mueller. The don't want to have to disband the Special Counsel and say that.
DeleteTrump is smarter than they are and usually 5 steps ahead.
Are you consoled by the fact that the raid was ordered and executed by Trump appointee Geoffrey Berman and his Republican filled staff (Berman was referred to Trump by Trump appointee Jeff Sessions and even made a contribution to Trump's campaign), on a reference by (you got it) Trump appointee Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein?
DeleteJust wondering?
In reply to the Anon above - Jesus chose Judas. What is your point?
DeleteTurns out Berman was made to recuse himself. https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/04/geoffrey-berman-the-u-s-attorney-for-the-southern-district-of-new-york-recused-from-the-michael-cohen-investigation/
DeleteI'll write slow and in English Anon so you can understand my point. First, Mueller did not request or authorize the raid on Cohen which means 99.9 percent of you Trumpers and Surbots got your facts wrong (again) and are suffering butthurt for no good reason. Mueller merely passed along information not related to his investigation to a bunch of Trump appointees who ordered (legally) the seizure of Cohen's assets. Even Trump's No. 1 apologist (after Surber), Chris Christie, a former federal prosecutor said there was nothing illegal about the seizure. So once again, you Trumpers are getting all worked up over a false assertion. But please keep it going, my stocks in Preparation H and Depends is soaring thanks to you.
Delete"First, Mueller did not request"
DeleteYou are simply lying.
Amen! The Dimocrats want to take away our First Amendment rights and our 2nd Amendment rights. - GOC
ReplyDeletethis is not the lawyer advising Trump in whitehouse about being interviewed
ReplyDeleteYou know the exact nature and scope of the relationship between this lawyer and his client? You must've been reading the documents Mueller stole and probably already leaked to the Amazon-WashPost.

Ron in Ohio Sez;
ReplyDeleteNot only is your comment very perceptive but, it is also food for thought. I sure wish that Don's keen assessment of this illegal act by Mueller and your comment could somehow find it's way to somebody who has trump's ear. Thanks to you both.
PS - Ron in Ohio sez;
ReplyDeleteMy above comment was directed to Mutnodjment and Don. I'll have to include "atta-boys" to the other two who snuck in ahead mine.
By contrast, Hillary's aides were allowed to claim they were her lawyers and consult with while avoiding questioning. Plus free grant of immunity. Plus no oath.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think anything was recorded. Convenient.
DeleteMr Surber - salient points all (as is your wont) however I must take serious issue with one item: would you please cease & desist referring to the “Democratic” Party. It is the “Democrat” Party & they are anything but democratic! It has morphed into a quasi-fascist party over the years.
ReplyDeleteI see all kinds of talking heads make this mistake. Drives me NUTS!!!
Thank You Sir.
Your humble servant,
Boarwild
There's nothing quasi-Fascist about the DimKKKRat party. It is a Fascist criminal gang. Hitler would be proud of his students.
DeleteThey're as "democratic" as the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea" (a/k/a Rocket Man Land).

The IG of the Justice Dept. has none of the powers he would need to do ANY of the things you wrote about, and the president cannot give those powers to him. I'd say Mueller's "investigation" is now trolling for an over-reaction by Trump so he can claim obstruction of justice. The legal wedgie Mueller has applied to Trump's undershorts is bound to be uncomfortable. Too bad Trump didn't fire Sessions way back when Sessions recused himself. Sessions has the authority and power to bring Mueller's investigation to a close, but it's too late too little for that. You don't strike when the iron is cold.
ReplyDeleteIn any event, I would guess the voluntary sit-down Trump said he might have with Mueller (and was allegedly practicing for) is now off the table indefinitely. LOL.
I don't remember Hillary's lawyers having their homes and businesses raided in the middle of the night during that sham of an investigation.
ReplyDeleteMe neither, SP. Still waiting.
DeleteOne of Hillary's "lawyers," Cheryl Mills, should have been a target of the FBI's investigation and never allowed to claim attorney-client privilege during the FBI interviews.
DeleteTo the average Joe (or Josephine), this is a desperation move and reeks of Chicago politics.
ReplyDeleteI think, in the end, this is every shark in the Pacific Ocean jumped, and, like Zuck and his overreach, is going to cost the Left dearly.
Right. The fence sitters will react the same way they did when Starr went off the reservation in the Clinton situation, and impeachment proceedings were held.
DeleteMy biggest worry is not the Dems, but the Republican establishment. Save your ammo for the traitors.
Here we go. It'll be a hot war but a very brief one. Because lawyers ain't got no firepower.
ReplyDeleteIf President Trump gives them enough rope they'll hang themselves. I think Herr Mueller just yelled "On rappel!" and there's nobody there to yell "On belay!" It could be a very long drop before he hits the ground. - Elric
ReplyDeleteThey got paper and courts. Fuck the courts. They gonna stop me when Mr. T's got the military?
ReplyDeleteThe move by Mueller to set up the referral to the DoJ has the fingerprints all over it of Andrew Weissmann, who is the head of Mueller's investigation team. He's a guy you don't fool with: he's ruthless and unethical.
ReplyDeleteI'm betting the objective here is to connect Trump to the porn "actress" by alleging he and his lawyer conspired to pay her off in a criminal act of bank fraud. The charge of criminal conspiracy opens the door to all manner of legal maneuvering by prosecutors, including providing a legal basis for raiding the office of Trump's attorney. Bottom line: I'm guessing Trump is now (or soon will be) the subject of a full-out criminal investigation for the conspiracy of bank fraud. The primary aim of Mueller's gambit may be political rather than criminal, but that won't make a difference in the impact it has on Trump's presidency.
We knew we’d be here with Trump the crook. It’s going to get much worse when Trump's crimes are enumerated. Extra style points for complaining about Hillary. So so sweet. Might as well get fitted for that orange jumpsuit to match his orange spay tan. NY AG is ready for the handoff. No Nixon style pardons. This crook is getting nailed.
ReplyDeleteBeep beep! This time you're SURE to get that pesky Trump-runner.

Yawn....yeah, the final coffin has been coming every day for over a year now. Keep deluding yourself.
DeleteYour liberal tears are most delicious!

The moment the Dems used the term "peaceful transition of power" and making such a big deal over it (talking point style), I knew they were planning no such thing.
ReplyDeleteWhat crimes..bringing america ack from the precipice of destruction and third world staus?get bent
ReplyDeleteThe Southern District US Atty for NY is a Mueller buddy. All fun& games to these unpatriotic traitors to their oath to uphold the US Constitution and faithfully execute its laws.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats infest all government bureaucracies, including the FBI & CIA & government schools.
ReplyDeleteFire everybody & rehire from the ground up?
It's called, "To the victor go the spoils," and the Civil Service System and public employee unions put paid to that. In principle, it is a pretty good system. - Elric
DeleteRemember in the original movie of “The Andromeda Strain” how the bio-lab had that nuclear self-destruct charge?
ReplyDeleteThat what’s the doofuses behind this raid just activated for themselves.
Sadly, it seems that, at this point, voting for any Democrat is voting for a traitor. How sad that one political party has decayed into treason. That's not ruling out some Republicans haven't resorted to treason as well. I know that patriotism isn't dead, but our Congress is, to say the least, somewhat personally challenged to do what is right for our country. God preserve our Republic. - Elric
ReplyDeleteTrump was absolutely berserk tonight - totally out of control, threatening everyone who works for him. What comes next could be all out war in Syria because of the third False Flag gassing of a hospital. Clinton employed diversion when the Monica Lewinsky scandal raised its ugly head, so 4 days of bombing to punish Saddam ensued. People died.
ReplyDeleteTrump obviously interacted with Russian oligarchs and mobsters in illegal rent-seeking activities such as money laundering and scamming real estate buyers and his campaign staff assisted interactions with the Russians to help Trump win.
As for illegal activities on the part of Mueller, that is a opinion by a a non-lawyer. Ken White at Popehat is a talented lawyer and here is what he thinks.
But Trumpsters will continue to believe Trump's lies. Real conservatives are absolutely flabbergasted by the single-mindedness.
It is amazing to see a asshole talk, now stick your head in it
Deletetotal nonsense...you theorize about rent scams for Trump yet completly ignore the known criminal behavior from the Dems
DeleteYou need a tablecloth-sized drool bib, methinks.
Delete---Fred
If this all turns out to be "just about sex", regardless of how the prostitute was paid the Democrats are doing to Trump exactly what they were complaining about when Bill Clinton was being pursued by Ken Starr. Bank fraud? Try conspiracy. Try perjury. This will come to nothing, and the Dems will be the ones to suffer. It's like they have borrowed from the Republicans the petard that they were hoist upon, thinking that it will work better this time.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible that Müeller et al devised the raid against Trump's personal lawyer in order to goad Trump into firing Müeller?
ReplyDeleteBucky
Yes. The goal always has been to remove Trump for office. This highly questionable act by Mueller likely is designed to cause Trump to do something that many will call "unpresidential", thereby fueling impeachment calls.
DeleteBINGO...the evidence of obstruction they can't find
DeleteAnd when this falls short, miraculously here will come another "smoking gun" that's going to be Trump's undoing. The left is so predictable.
ReplyDeleteJust like Trump's lawyers have lawyers (Make Attorneys Get Attorneys), Trump's investigations have investigations. This was just droppings from the table of the core investigation. A judge (Trump appointee) approved this raid.
ReplyDeleteMore like droppings from the back end of a bird.
Delete---Fred
Trump appointee?
DeleteIf the FBI can just break in (with a warrant issued by a judge you appointed) to your lawyer's office and confiscate evidence of crimes committed by you and your lawyer, then attorney/client privilege must be dead.
ReplyDeleteAnd the NYT and WaPo wait anxiously for the first leaks they know will be coming from Mueller and his "Democrat Henchmen".
DeleteThe democrats' nuclear option; their final backup plan.
ReplyDeleteThis is the final round, one way or another.
Now is the time for Trump to spotlight Mueller's past misbehavior in previous cases.
