Wow.
So brave of her to speak out against a Republican president in Hollywood.
The interview was sappy. Read and judge for yourself.
Oprah did not ask why Lawrence would be so rude to a 71-year-old man whom she never met. Do I get to throw a martini in Hillary's face? Or how about a martini to Lawrence's face?
Last week, while promoting her new movie, "Red Sparrow," Lawrence again attacked the president.
"Jennifer Lawrence says Donald Trump's election left her devastated and helpless: 'My head exploded,'" the Independent reported.
She told Oprah that for one producer she did not name, "I had to do a nude lineup. It was abusive."
Hmm. And yet she appears nude in films. By choice. Just as it was her choice to stand in the lineup.
Which leads to her new movie, "Red Sparrow." She is nekkid in it. A lot.
"'Do you know how long it takes to peel the skin from a human body?' a torture-happy Russian goon asks in 'Red Sparrow.' I imagine it feels about as long as sitting through this atrocious spy thriller, in which Jennifer Lawrence plays a prima ballerina who goes to whore school," Sara Stewart of the New York Post wrote.
"I’m not kidding. The film’s unquestionable high point is Lawrence’s character bellowing the accusing line in her Boris-and-Natasha accent: 'You sent me to whore school!'"
It is not a comedy.
Maybe she should spend a little more time reading scripts and less time plotting to throw an alcoholic beverage in the face of a teetotaler.
John Nolte at Breitbart called her box office poison.
"Jennifer Lawrence’s big-budget 'Red Sparrow' is underperforming big time at the box office. Already-modest predictions called for a $20 million opening. As of now, it looks like $17 million, which is a disaster for a product that, with promotion and advertising, cost in the neighborhood of $120 million," he wrote, and not without some pleasure.
"This is also another disaster for Lawrence, whose star has declined swiftly since she revealed herself to be an anti-Christian bigot and a divisive, mean-spirited, left-wing jerk.
"Her last big film, 'mother!,' opened on 2400 screens to just $7.5 million. Prior to that, even with Chris Pratt on the poster, 'Passengers' couldn’t open to $15 million. Hollywood should have taken notice of Lawrence’s career decline when her last two 'Hunger Games' sequels opened to much lower numbers than the previous two, which is the exact opposite of what happened with Harry Potter and 'Twilight.'"
Which brings us to the Trump Effect.
Once again, some birdbrain picked a fight with The Donald -- and wound up worse for the ordeal.
The best part is Trump does not do anything to them -- other than take up residency inside their heads.
They become so obsessed that they make bad decisions -- or in some cases, they have made bad choices that they want to paper over their mistakes by attacking Trump as a way of distracting attention.

From Leslie Eastman's review at Legal Insurrection:
Surber, a recovering journalist with over 30 years of experience, has been cataloging the #FakeNews that has been regularly offered as serious analysis of President Donald Trump’s actions, policies, and opinions. He has brought his enormous collection together in the longest, most serious book he has yet written: Fake News Follies 2017."Fake News Follies of 2017" is available on Kindle and in paperback.
Autographed copies are available. Email me at DonSurber@GMail.com for details. I am including a "director's cut." I'll email you back the original Chapter 1 that I cut because while the chapter was amusing, it really had nothing to do with the "Fake News Follies of 2017."
Ben Garrison did the cover and I am so happy with it. I told him what the book was about, sent him a copy of the manuscript, and he came up with a perfect cover. I am so pleased.

I don't know why she's mad. It looks like she's already been to whore school. Bill Clinton and Harvey Weinstein were her crossing guards.
ReplyDeleteLawrence dropped out of middle school (she didn't even get to high school!) to go to Hollyweird.
DeleteMaybe she already knew how to take her clothes off, but "whore school" is a great description of the course study of many of today's "actresses."
Related: Won't anyone think of Weinstein's shrubbery? It's all dying, from lack of sustenance!
Also do not go see The Shape Of Water.Watched about 40 minutes up on web ,where you can see the current flicks, and this one was not even a cam.Believe me it is bad, starts out showing the main actress masturbating in her bath tub.
ReplyDeleteI call that movie The Shape Of My Butthole. No way in hell I'd waste my money on that garbage. Wifey and I watched Darkest Hour last night. A good (but not great) flick. And I STILL can't believe that was Gary Oldman as Winnie. He was magnificent.
DeleteI haven't gone to the movies in 25 years, but I still read the news: The Shape of whatever is being sued for copyright infringement by the estate of playwright Paul Zindel for plagiarising a 1969 play with very similar (but not as icky) plot elements. Another lawsuit by a Dutch company was dropped (probably paid off), while a French director complained that one scene was almost a copy of a scene from one of his movies. Unfortunately, this didn't prevent the academy from awarding best movie to it; in fact, it probably pushed them to choose it.
DeleteWhy is she considered so beautiful? 10-25% of young girls and women locally look better than she does and don't have dead eyes and try to virtue signal their way out of their screw-ups. She needs a better agent to pick better roles and tell her to STFU about things she doesn't understand which is a lot as she dropped out of school in junior high. She is getting type-cast playing trashy women. She shoud stop and get her GED.
ReplyDeleteShe's not even close to being as smart as she thinks she is, but she's surely got all those leftist lines fixed in her memory.
ReplyDeletethe entertainment industry is one of the few where the producers of the product feel it necessary and proper to inform its consumers of their political views. It's very odd. Does your car salesman tell you his position on climate change? Does Best Buy lecture you on gun control when you buy a Bose speaker system? How strange these people are.
ReplyDeleteHaven’t been to a movie theater for at least 8 years. Don’t plan to go anytime soon. Prefer the old movies on TCM.
ReplyDeleteAs for Lawrence, all I need to know is that her mouth is bigger than her brain. Welcome to the list.
"My head exploded." If only!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to feign morality as the spray tan one keeps the "John" in Donald John Trump. At $130K a payoff, he's also the dumbest John ever--but we knew that. Heh, so much "winning".

DeleteAs usual your negative bullsh!t flies in the face of aimiable discourse on this site.
In case you missed it in the previous comments, nobody was talking about President DJT.
As usual it appears that your lifestyle of hitting the keyboard from your mom's basement is having a detrimental effect on you sense of propriety.
Try getting out once in awhile, you may get a better perspective on things.
Your liberal tears are still sweet to us.

See you have been reading the Daily Mail or the British equivalent of the Enquirer again.
DeleteI can't believe you lefties are still pissing and moaning so pathetically after getting destroyed by Trump. Get over it, move on, get a life. Life is better outside of your mom's basement...I promise.
DeleteWrite a post on the movies and the lefties come on to cry about Trump: lather, rinse, repeat.
If she wants to get Moose and Squirrel, it’s clearly time for Super Secret Plan B.
