FBI scandal hid in plain sight

I admire House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes for having the intestinal fortitude and perseverance to put together a damning document that will serve as an indictment of Barack Obama's corrupt and dangerous administration.

The use of America's spies and FBI agents to cover up crimes by Hillary and to undermine the incoming, duly elected administration is the darkest period of American history since the John Wilkes Booth conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln and his Cabinet.

But we knew this all along.

President Trump told us on March 4, 2017, that Obama spied on him.

Trump sent out four tweets:

  1. “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”
  2. “Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wiretapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!”
  3. “I’d bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!”
  4. “How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”

At that moment, an independent and impartial press -- one that is worthy of a Great Republic -- would have investigated this accusation.

Instead, the Fake News media covered up the Obaman crimes.

CNN immediately dismissed the claim. Reporters Jeremy Diamond, Jeff Zeleny, and Shimon Prokupecz wrote, “Trump’s baseless wiretap claim.”
The triple byline story quoted a press release from Obama (“A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice. As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any US citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false.”) as well as “a former senior US official with direct knowledge of the Justice Department’s investigations.”
Thus, CNN told viewers and online readers to believe some coward who refused to go on record defending Obama over President Trump.

It took three reporters to regurgitate am Obaman press release?

If only they had checked the files and re-read the New York Times Page One story on Inauguration Day: "Wiretapped Data Used in Inquiry of Trump Aides."

Obama spied on Trump.

And Andrew C. McCarthy laid it all out in National Review the night before the presidential tweets.

He told America that the Obama administration sought a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign in June. 99.5% of these requests are granted. This one wasn't.

In October, Obama's administration sought a warrant to spy on a server in Trump Tower. A judge granted the warrant.

The judge likely was U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras, an Obama appointee, who recused himself in a case involving Paul Manafort, a former Trump campaign manager who lived at Trump Tower.

"From the three reports, from The Guardian, Heat Street, and the New York Times, it appears the FBI had concerns about a private server in Trump Tower that was connected to one or two Russian banks. Heat Street describes these concerns as centering on ‘possible financial and banking offenses.’ I italicize the word ‘offenses’ because it denotes crimes. Ordinarily, when crimes are suspected, there is a criminal investigation, not a national-security investigation," McCarthy wrote on March 3.

This scandal was hiding in plain sight.

Lawyer John Hinderaker at Power Line wrote, "This is astonishing to me, as I have never heard a word about this story. If the Obama administration abused the FISA process to wiretap a political opponent, it is a scandal of the first order—the worst political scandal of my lifetime, easily. And the press has known about it and covered it up? Unbelievable."

But the press kept its eyes closed tight.

One of the more incredible moments on cable news came in April when Susan Rice admitted she made national security officials identify -- unmask -- American citizens caught in surveillance, a politicization of national security that FISA is supposed to protect us from.

The media ignored this.

I wrote "Fake News Follies of 2017" in real time so that I could publish it this weekend. Kindle releases it on Tuesday, and Amazon will have it in print soon. Autographed copies will come with an extra chapter that was cut due to space. Email me at DonSurber@GMail.com for details.

Writing it in real-time (as I did "Trump the Press" and "Trump the Establishment") meant I had to see the road ahead. On January 11, 2017, for example, I had to decide whether the Russian Dossier was Fake News. Once I came to the part where it said Trump hired urinating hookers, I knew it was Fake News.  Lie about one thing, you lie about it all.

Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele, Clinton paying for the dossier -- all this we knew about by mid-September or earlier.

Indeed, I wrote this -- oh in June -- in the book, "the Obama administration had national security agencies spy on the Trump campaign—and the media helped cover it up. Saying Trump was wrong about wiretapping was Fake News. The media ignored evidence of it when Trump first tweeted about it and downplayed the evidence when the media could no longer ignore it."

Nunes took a lot of heat last March for presenting Trump with evidence of this outrage last March.

Nunes takes heat today.

Not all heroes wear capes -- or military caps -- or first responder uniforms.

Good news.

"Fake News Follies of 2017" will be available on Kindle on February 6.

Order it here.

I want to thank the news media for its help in writing my new book, because I could not have written it without their lies, spinning, and cover-ups.

The paperback edition will likely be published this weekend.

Autographed copies are available. Email me at DonSurber@GMail.com for details. I am including a "director's cut." I'll email you back the original Chapter 1 that I cut because while the chapter was amusing, it really had nothing to do with the "Fake News Follies of 2017."

Ben Garrison did the cover and I am so happy with it. I told him what the book was about, sent him a copy of the manuscript, and he came up with a perfect cover. I am so pleased.

  2. Watershed presidency. Too bad so many Republicans are so late coming on board.

No sense crying over spilt milk. The thing to do is start prosecuting FBI officials and work our way up.

    2. When presented with evidence that they were spied on too illegally they really didn't have a choice unless they wanted to be sitting ducks for blackmail.

  3. If Nunes had a problem with the FISA program he shouldn't have re-authorized it THREE WEEKS AGO. "Trump's Stooge" is the perfect title for him. Most Americans will see it as justice when he gets his orange jammies.

    1. Well, if you feel this strongly, go ahead and go full Hodgkinson on Nunes. If the cops don't air you out, we will.

    2. I know you're a troll, but here's a response......

The FISA program that was approved 3 weeks ago has restrictions and far more accountability built in then the old one. The current FISA program was not simply renewed. This is not the fast food restaurants you eat at constantly tweaking their menus so that you get your daily intake of grease, salt, and sugar, while thinking that you're getting something new. In this case our legislators are minimizing those components, adding in vitamins and nutrients so the users can live longer and healthier. Which is how advanced civilizations truly sustain themselves.

This is the problem with simpletons like you. Everything is black and white. The USA needs to be able to spy on people for matters of national security - i.e. assuring a whiny, worthless person like yourself has a safe life. The trick in the adult world is to find a balance between having legitimate reasons to stalk people or doing it to harass and entrap citizens in a free country.

Donald Trump is already the best President of the 20th and 21st centuries. He very probably will be the greatest in US history by 2024. He is saving this country from becoming a Latin American and radical Muslim hellhole where dozens of languages are spoken in public with enclaves of non-assimilated citizens assuring that there is no country - just a hunk of land on planet earth where people will forever be fighting wars with one another a la Latin America and the Middle East.

    3. #ResistWeMuch ?

Get ready Soyboy. We won't be watching a MOAB this week, it will be the first impact of a MIRV event.

      1. Nunes (now)
      2. Grassley & IG (March)
      3. Goodlatte (before May)

It won't change your contorted ideology, nor will the media change their narrative on single bit, but a flashpoint will be reached in terms of this stagnant cold civil war.

  5. Although I've given up on Mark Levin, I happened to have the car radio on his channel this afternoon.

Dan Bongino - ex Secret Service - was substituting and he spent the entire 3 hours giving "Chapter & Verse" on this story: Criminal right up to & including Obama. No question about it.

Find the Podcast - it is AMAZING !!

  6. Major revelations will becoming out through the end of March. This is all orchestrated - Nunes, then Grassley (Senate), then Goodlatte (House) and finally Horowitz (DOJ IG - who will drop the MOAB that will confirm everyone else's findings). If the obstructionists - MSM and official Dems - manage to hold things up for a few days here and there then the end of the first wave will be held up until some time in April.

This will then become a running story throughout 2018 with ever more revelations, yes, even more important then the DACA "kids".

Be prepared to stop by your local Sam's Club or Costco every month or so to get the extra large box of popping corn so you can watch both the Democratic party and MSM implode daily. We know Americans are turning to the Internet to get the real news, we don't yet know if there are any worthwhile Democrats left, and if so, where they will go.

    1. The result is going to be anything Progressive Democrats want is automatically presumed to be bad for the country. That will include DACA, open borders and "firehose" immigration levels. Only a third world replacement population would put up with what has been done to the US justice system.

  10. These reports had better come out soon, or they will do Trump no good. I am deeply suspicious of Mueller and his gang of Democrat hanging prosecutors. As the old saying goes, past is prologue, and both he and his people have a history of ethical lapses, the law be damned. This group wants their names in the history books. They are going after Trump hammer and tong. The danger to Trump is very real.
