Earth to NBC: Russians did not change one vote in 2016

CNN just lost its Fake News crown to NBC. Its effort to win the gold has been Olympic this month.

The network sent its anchor to Pyongyang to show what a paradise North Korea is.

Then it (and the rest of the Fake News media) fawned over Caligula Jong Un's sister.

Then it lied and said Koreans admire the Japanese. No, Koreans hate the Japanese after 35 years of cruelty when Japan colonized Korea.

Now the Trump administration is pushing back twice as hard.

The subject is not the Olympics. The subject is Fake News reporting by NBC on the long discredited Democratic Party's excuse that Russia meddled in the past presidential election.

Jeanette Manfra, National Protection and Programs Directorate Assistant Secretary for the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications, at Homeland Security, lit into the network.

"Recent NBC reporting has misrepresented facts and confused the public with regard to Department of Homeland Security and state and local government efforts to combat election hacking. First off, let me be clear: we have no evidence – old or new - that any votes in the 2016 elections were manipulated by Russian hackers," she wrote.

"NBC News continues to falsely report my recent comments on attempted election hacking – which clearly mirror my testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last summer – as some kind of “breaking news,” incorrectly claiming a shift in the administration’s position on cyber threats.

"As I said eight months ago, a number of states were the target of Russian government cyber actors seeking vulnerabilities and access to U.S. election infrastructure. In the majority of cases, only preparatory activity like scanning was observed, while in a small number of cases, actors were able to access the system but we have no evidence votes were changed or otherwise impacted.

"NBC’s irresponsible reporting, which is being roundly criticized elsewhere in the media and by security experts alike, undermines the ability of the Department of Homeland Security, our partners at the Election Assistance Commission, and state and local officials across the nation to do our incredibly important jobs. While we’ll continue our part to educate NBC and others on the threat, more importantly, the Department of Homeland Security and our state and local partners will continue our mission to secure the nation’s election systems.

"To our state and local partners in the election community: there’s no question we’re making real and meaningful progress together. States will do their part in how they responsibly manage and implement secure voting processes. For our part, we’re going to continue to support with risk and vulnerability assessments, offer cyber hygiene scans, provide real-time threat intel feeds, issue security clearances to state officials, partner on incident response planning, and deliver cybersecurity training.

"The list goes on of how we’re leaning forward and helping our partners in the election community. We will not stop, and will stand by our partners to protect our nation’s election infrastructure and ensure that all Americans can have confidence in our democratic elections."

NBC would have Americans believe that MSNBC anchors preaching anti-Americanism and hate for Trump has nothing to do with its news coverage -- even though MSNBC's Chuck Todd hosts NBC's most prestigious news program, "Meet the Press."

Likewise, NBC would have Americans believe that "Saturday Night Live" sketches and nightly rants by Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers on late-night TV are not its corporate opinion.

Oh? Where was the mocking of Barack Obama?

Fake News is the propaganda machine by Comcast (owner of NBC) and other corporations. They are fully vested in a corrupt federal government and globalism.

The Russian meddling story that NBC and others promoted is now showing them for who they are.

Liars. Corrupt liars.

And not very good ones at that.

From Leslie Eastman's review at Legal Insurrection:
Surber, a recovering journalist with over 30 years of experience, has been cataloging the #FakeNews that has been regularly offered as serious analysis of President Donald Trump’s actions, policies, and opinions. He has brought his enormous collection together in the longest, most serious book he has yet written: Fake News Follies 2017.
"Fake News Follies of 2017" is available on Kindle and in paperback.

Autographed copies are available. Email me at for details. I am including a "director's cut." I'll email you back the original Chapter 1 that I cut because while the chapter was amusing, it really had nothing to do with the "Fake News Follies of 2017."

Ben Garrison did the cover and I am so happy with it. I told him what the book was about, sent him a copy of the manuscript, and he came up with a perfect cover. I am so pleased.

  1. No fake news crown for the folks who gave us pizzagate?

    1. Make the major news organization that gave us pizzagate.

    2. Name, not make.

    3. I hate autocorrect, and my brains in the morning.

  2. We need to set up all bandwidths to competitive bidding every three years or so, and be done with simple licensing. The system we have in place now sets up certain corporations as permanent arbiters of the public consciousness, with the freedom to lie to us with our own resources (the airwaves are a public resource). This has to stop.

    1. Imagine turning on channel whatever on your TV and seeing NBC for a couple of minutes before the content switches to some other corporation that has bid for that time of day on that bandwidth.

Make TV anarchy and you make it interesting again, and the government starts pulling in what those airwaves are really worth.

    2. Like it!

  3. A titanic battle for the title of fakest fake news fakers. May they both lose.

  4. I don't watch NBC. Nor ABC, CBS, CNN...

    1. Me either for at least 25 years. Also don't watch or listen to MSNBC, NPR.

    2. But you get to pay for NPR anyway!!
