Democrats regroup after meddling story explodes in their faces.

Robert Mueller is a joke. He indicted 13 Russians for, among other things, tricking a person into carrying a "Happy Birthday" sign in front of the White House.

We cannot throw Hillary in prison for exposing State secrets to the world on her illegal private server, but by golly we can indict trolls in St. Petersburg. Good luck on extradition, Muelly.

Maybe that's what he is counting on.

The Democratic Party lied about a Russian dossier.

They used that dossier to justify using the National Security Agency and other apparatus to spy on a political opponent for purely partisan reasons.

Barack Obama and the rest of his administration posed an existential threat to our Republic.

So how are the Democrats and their RINO buddies spinning it?

They blame the victim.

"America Is Under Attack and the President Doesn't Care. Trump’s gravest responsibility is to defend the United States from foreign attack—and he’s done nothing to fulfill it," screamed the headline over an Atlantic piece by David Frum, who was mocked by the liberal press when he wrote for Bush 43 but 16 years later sucks up to them.

Frum ignored the complete absence of any evidence of Russian meddling in the election despite an exhaustive year-long probe by the past two directors of the FBI and their top -- and very partisan -- aides.

"Trump continues to insist that he and his campaign team did not collude with Russia in the 2016 election. We know that they were ready and eager to collude—that’s on the public record. ('If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.') The public does not yet know whether the collusion actually occurred, and if so, in what form and to what extent. But in front of our very eyes we can observe that they are leaving the door open to Russian intervention on their behalf in the next election. You might call it collusion in advance—a dereliction of duty as grave as any since President Buchanan looked the other way as Southern state governments pillaged federal arsenals on the eve of the Civil War," Frum wrote.

Speaking of the Civil War, pearls have not been clutched this hard since Scarlett O'Hara's cotillion.

The Democratic Party spin was best reported by Matthew Nussbaum if Politico in "Trump attacks everyone but Russia. The president continues his barrage of tweets after the Mueller indictments."

Well, why not?

As far as he knows, the Russians did not wiretap him.

Obama did.

“If it was the GOAL of Russia to create discord, disruption and chaos within the U.S. then, with all of the Committee Hearings, Investigations and Party hatred, they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. They are laughing their asses off in Moscow. Get smart America!” Trump tweeted on Sunday morning.

You know what? Neither the press nor the Democratic Party cares.

It is not about ideology. It is about power. Democrats believe Trump took their power -- a power that belongs to them because they are smarter, cooler, hipper, and better than the rest of us.

Yes, they are so smart that even after a year, they cannot find this collusion or meddling.

Because it does not exist.

Obama's subversion of national security for partisan purposes does exist. We need to punish those who did that.

From Leslie Eastman's review at Legal Insurrection:
Surber, a recovering journalist with over 30 years of experience, has been cataloging the #FakeNews that has been regularly offered as serious analysis of President Donald Trump’s actions, policies, and opinions. He has brought his enormous collection together in the longest, most serious book he has yet written: Fake News Follies 2017.
"Fake News Follies of 2017" is available on Kindle and in paperback.

Autographed copies are available. Email me at DonSurber@GMail.com for details. I am including a "director's cut." I'll email you back the original Chapter 1 that I cut because while the chapter was amusing, it really had nothing to do with the "Fake News Follies of 2017."

Ben Garrison did the cover and I am so happy with it. I told him what the book was about, sent him a copy of the manuscript, and he came up with a perfect cover. I am so pleased.

  1. Expect the Democrat Party to increase the volume and tone of its invective. They are hearing footsteps behind them and casting furtive glances over their shoulders as their dreaded Day of Reckoning approaches. Or, as they call it over at The Conservative Tree House, The Big Ugly. Many of them will not make it through the ordeal to come. - Elric

    1. They will be pushing the volume and tone to 12 because the big ugly is going to be bigger and uglier than we ever could have imagined.

  2. Of course Mueller knows he'll never extradite those Russians.

For one thing, he'd be laughed out of court.

  3. Apparently, the Mueller team is stocked with such brilliant lawyers that they essentially plagiarized the big Ruskie caper from a European article published a while back.

Mueller's main purpose was to protect the "small group." That gig was pretty much busted when the IG released the texts. We'll soon see Nunes nuke Powers and Rice and the Obama daily briefings that spread info to the DOJ and FBI, but that will be after the IG report. So, expect more parking violations and building code violations to roll out of the lounge lizards on the grand jury.

  4. Timed to mute the fact his FBI screwed up on the warnings about the Florida shooter.

  5. He didn't even charge them with campaign meddling. The charges are all related to failure to register, opening a bank acct under a false name and the like.

People have said that if he charged those Russkies with campaign meddling, the same charges could be aimed at Steele, the DNC, and perhaps Hillary herself.

  6. And Mueller waits until each and every Russian has already left the country before coming up with the indictments?

  7. Frum and The ATLANTIC: Two untrustworthy sources.
"Obama's subversion of national security for partisan purposes does exist. We need to punish those who did that." Don said a mouthfull; I surely do hope it turns into a jail-full.

  8. Obama sent operatives to meddle in our 2013 Australian election.

Then our left party sent operatives to your country to meddle in your election.

Funny how the Democrats don't seem to be outraged by all this.
