Doesn't look like amnesty is happening

Sometimes I get ahead of readers, so I must apologize for not freaking out over President Trump's meeting with congressional leaders over granting amnesty to 800,000 illegal aliens who claim they were abducted and brought here as children.

I went over all this on Saturday, and I thought everyone understood. But OK, let us go over this again.

President Trump has already won this battle. He won the battle in September when he said he would enforce the law, which means deporting all illegal aliens including this crew. He gave Congress six months to give this set of criminals amnesty.

In Washington-ese, they are DACA -- protected by an imaginary law that Barack Obama invented. Incredibly, a federal judge in California upheld Obama's imaginary law.

President Trump has won this battle, though. Congress has to pass a bill on amnesty and (and this is very important) get him to sign it into law,

I suppose it is possible that Congress would do that.

But the price Trump would exact is not only astronomical but astrological as well. He would get the wall, the end of chain immigration, the end of the visa lottery, reductions in refugees, reductions in legal aliens, and the reduction of green cards.

Trump holds all the trump cards in this hand. He wins before he goes into battle.

I wrote about this on Saturday, "Trump just won on DACA."

He met with Congress and let the cameras roll as he held court for 55 minutes without giving them an inch.

The Washington Examiner reported, "Democrats 'nervous' after confusing White House meeting on DACA fix."

Nervous? Try humiliated.

They have no leverage. This is no negotiation. This is a choice to capitulate or be annihilated.

President Trump posed this question to Democrats: Do you want to lose in the primaries or in the general election?

If they accede to Trump's demands, they will lose in the primary.

If they don't, they will lose in the general because Trump's building the wall with or without them.

Please enjoy my two books about the press and how it missed the rise of Donald Trump.

The first was "Trump the Press," which covered his nomination.

The second was "Trump the Establishment," which covered his election.

  1. Stringing this out is good. It allows information to get out to the public as to how this and chain migration has changed America ("press 1 for English"). Yesterday Rush quoted a Pew Research study that 78 million immigrants and their offspring have come to the US since Ted Kennedy's 1965 Immigration bill. We have a country of 330 million.

Everyone is realizing the truth - the Democrats need these people in here to win elections. Simple as that. And as long as most don't assimilate, they will continue to vote Democrat for the freebies. Saw it in the mid-2000's when I left California (as did millions of others). These people get here, vote Democrat, then vote themselves a never-ending stream of government services. Period.

Ted Kennedy was also the person responsible for undermining Social Security by using a retirement system to get money to people that did not pay into the system and were not of retirement age. Like most Democrats, he hated America.

    1. That explains why everything everywhere is so crowded lately! When the press tells you "11 to 12 million", multiply it by 10 to get a more exact count.

  3. Even Limbaugh worried about that meeting, so I turned off my radio. My husband listened on another radio and got hyper, and I told him to stop listening and take a deep breath. I noticed the other day that Limbaugh had 'rearranged' his thinking a bit. He may understand Trump -- he loves to remind us of that -- but he still likes to tell Trump what to do, as though Trump were an idiot. I put my faith in God and my trust in Trump. He knows (better than anyone else) what he's doing.

But that's too good to be true, so I'm sure it's not.

  5. I think he has also structured things to provide leverage over BOTH parties' members of Congress.
Trump has said he'll sign whatever Congress passes, so neither side can engage in the cynical "I'll vote for/against it and I won't be accountable because Obama will sign/veto it" strategy that both parties used for the past 8 years (e.g. GOP voting to repeal Obamacare until it really mattered; red-state Dems voting against something that was going to pass anyway). All members of Congress will be accountable for their own votes.

Thus, as Don says, red-state Democrats will either have to vote to please their constituents or suffer the consequences in the general.

The same goes for Republicans. But right now, Trump has structured it so that if the GOP takes the hard line (i.e. Trump's stated position), they'll look like THEY are the ones who stood up to the Dems and voters will reward them. If they don't, then they are in the same trap that the Democrats are.

    Very clever.

  7. Obama never defended DACA in court--two times. The courts have previous ruled against DACA, and Obama indicated that he was walking on constitutional grounds.

Don is (has been) correct. There are various (multidimensional) aspects to his winning at this point, but, most importantly, it takes him out of the veto end point narrative (evil evil cruel Trump) and puts the debate resolution squarely on the public domain and the uniparty record of voting. The Dhimms know they are screwed royally because of Palmieri's/DNc's leaked email, and also public opinion polls (not the fake ones). I say let the squishy base stomp their feet louder, including the NRO/Redstate/US Coc uniparty--let the good times roll.

  10. I'm entertained by Senator Feinstein wanting a clean bill. In March 1995 she testified before the Senate Judiciary Com that California is "an immigration disaster." Opposed by Reno and La Raza. Now Mexifornia with K-12 54% "Mexican-Hispanic". California whites accepted to U. of CA for Fall 2017 were 15.8%.

  11. Correct. There will be no deal on anything this year (DACA, wall, chain migration) with the Dems because their strategy is to run against Trump.

  12. Just a word of caution here. I can't remember his first name, but Rogers was the last. He was on in the morning with Melanie Morgan. He said: "If you fall in love with a politician, he will break your heart every time." I like Trump. I hope he comes through on this big time. I just have this, hopefully unjustified, feeling that this is the time it all goes south.

  14. Deport them all. If you are outraged over that then prosecute their parents for bringing them in illegally, prosecute Obama for being part of this sham. Either way get them out of America.

  15. Ann Coulter has not gone nuts. She is, like Steve Bannon, a professional ideologue. Thanks to her, and other commentators and members of Congress on the Right, as well as the extreme position of the Left, the chances of comprehensive immegration reform this election year are close to zero. President Tump has called their bluff.
I can imagine him signing a "clean" DACA bill which would allow 800,000 'youths' to remain in America if they behave themselves. They would be resident aliens, with no path to citizenship, chain migration or anything else. Clean is clean, and the only effect would be that the illegal decision of that California judge would be legal. There is a March deadline, and if this "clean" is not good enough for the Dems, wouldn't letting this illegal measure expire be their fault.
I was disturbed by Don's previous post on this matter. Not by him, but by the comments. Please grow up. President Trump does not need you or your vote, or even your good opinion. You and all Americans need him, unless you are part of the Crony Capitalist/So-called Socialist ruling class who would have us all serfs or proles. His Presidency is at risk, but since ythe grounds seem to be that he is unfit to be President, he won't go to prison. He will go back to playing golf, enjoying the grandchildren and making money, as well as giving donations to the Democrats because that's the cost of doing business in Amerika.

  16. Yet talking heads on Fox last night, including Laura Ingram, were having a freaking cow over "Trump is going to grant amnesty".

Is it possible that the way Trump plays the game is why so many GOP House members are stepping aside?

  17. Your characterization of DACA is the most fundamentally dishonest piece of shit lie that I have ever read. You have just revealed yourself as evil an advocate of ethnic cleansing as any gibbering Serb sniper in the hills of Sarajevo. Fuck you and get out of the GOP... you and anybody who thinks like you.
