Good news for 2020

U.S. News and World Report had great news for Republicans:
For a couple of hours on a recent Thursday, Sen. Kamala Harris of California became the favorite to win the Democratic Party's 2020 presidential nomination.

She is the political lovechild of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. She is entitled by both her race and her sex to become president of the United States because after 241 years, look where white men have left the nation -- the best economy, the best military, and the best freedoms in the world.

Under her guidance, America can return to the days of Obama.

That's a pretty good message to send voters. Make America Marxist Again.

From U.S. News and World Report:
The trio of other front-runners – Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and former Vice President Joe Biden – are no surprise given their well-established national followings.
It's the 53-year-old Harris who has rocketed up the chain of fresh possibilities this year, as she's been feted by elite donors, fawned over by the Democratic establishment and elevated by a smitten national press corps.
As the cultural and ideological antidote to the current president, her ascension was almost inevitable. But it's also been in motion for years.
Ever since she stepped into the public arena, Harris has been bathed in great expectations. When he was president of NBC Universal, CNN's Jeff Zucker broke his policy of supporting candidates and introduced her to New York power players as "important for the entire country."
Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa predicted in August that "she's going to be knocking on doors in Iowa." In defending her against liberal critics in September, Hillary Clinton singled Harris out as one of her "favorite Democrats." Later that month, Gwainevere Catchings Hess, president of The Black Women's Agenda, introduced Harris at a luncheon as "the unsilenced, the uncensored, the unstoppable."
Well, unlike Warren, Harris can claim to have Indian ancestors. Asian Indian.

And like Obama, she is dumb but sounds smart:
"When we think about it, India is the oldest democracy in the world."
Actually, no. It did not gain independence until 1947. In 1950 -- after a bloody civil war between Hindus and Muslims -- it became a democratic republic. Largest democracy, yes. Oldest, no.

Harris offers a good biography, and can pitch the usual Marxist policy platforms of the Democrats with ease.

But after eight years of Obama, and one year of Trump, does anyone believe Americans are willing to go back there?

Especially if they are called racist and misogynist if they decline the invitation to vote for Harris.

The 2016 election was about ideas. Most people did not vote for Trump because he was loud, proud, and boastful.

They voted for him because he promised to put America First and fight for us. We want trade deals re-negotiated. We want immigration laws enforced. We want regulations repealed.

Democrats have no new ideas to offer. But they sure have interesting biographies to offer.

The first was "Trump the Press," which covered his nomination.

The second was "Trump the Establishment," which covered his election.

  2. I have thought since November 9, 2016, that Kamala Harris would be the Democrat's 2020 nominee. Female. Minority, but not too much so, so as to scare the Dems' white liberal moneyed elite core. She is literally the Dems' only viable candidate who will be under the age of 70 come 2020. A younger, biracial Hillary without all the stains and baggage of ethical problems, sexual-harassment-enabling, corruption, health issues and visibly gross incompetence in office will not be easy to beat. I wish it weren't true, but them's the facts.

    2. I'm only sounding the warning bell. The Dems under-estimated PDT to their regret (and our joy). I'm just saying do not repeat that mistake and under-estimate the appeal of Kamala Harris. I do not want her to be elected president.

    3. I agree retro. We underestimated Obama (not as an empty suit) but in his appeal to voters.

    4. Harris scares me. I'm in the belly of the beast, CA, where the powers-that-be really do think she walks on water.

What you said, Retro, is quite true; there just isn't much dirt on Harris. Except for her lack of good sense and her devotion to socialist/Democrat ideas, none of which ever work in practice but which sound good to uninformed idiots, she has appeal.

This is exactly what has driven CA into the dirt. Once, remember, CA was the Golden State; now it's the S*** Brown State, and it didn't happen by accident.

What a disaster it would be if the same thing should happen to the nation!

    5. Haven't we seen this movie though? Bi-racial collectivist that's as empty as they come. I do agree she's very viable, and she'd be bulletproof with the MSM: you'd be racist and misogynist for criticizing her policies. Could you imagine the screaming halt the glorious Trump economy would come to with her at the helm. Hard pass.

  3. Yeah, but what’s she like doing drunken staggers to the waiting car?

Has she got the Hilly-Hilly Shakes?

  4. Sen Harris was horrible as a state official in CA.
When you think about it Sarah Palin had a terrific bio. One of the People, not an entitled elitist. Smart, honest (willing to root out Repub evil doers), hard working and a fab communicator. With a "D" following her name she would have been praised to the skies. As an "R" she would have been a wonderful president. I love The Donald but the country got gypped by the media when they took down Sarah, IMO

    1. I've thought for quite a while it would be fun for Ms Palin to run for the Senate. When she looked like she was moving to Arizona some years ago, I thought that's what her plan was.
      Oh, well.

    1. That's the danger. So called "Progressives" only see superficial. They're intellectual masters don't tell them how to think. They tell them how to feelz and if they tell Leftists Harris is their wet dream, that's who they'll vote for...just like the Lightbringer Obama.

  8. Democrats thought Obama was the Messiah. It was a religious experience for them.

Harris doesn't do that to people. They don't swoon in her presence. So she needs a much deeper resume before she gets a shot. Her lack of experience will be her undoing in 2020.

I see her as a VP possibility though.

  10. "Under her guidance, America can return to the days of Obama"

I suspect that if she were to be elected, God forbid, returning to the day to Obastard would be a best case scenario.
