A bad week for Never Trump

Be kind. The childish resistance had a rough week.

Sunday saw Vice President Mike Pence and his Colts-loving wife, Karen, walk out of a game when the 49ers disrespected the flag.

Now it is one thing for the NFL to take on Donald Trump.

But Pence? He's the guy who came back to the theater to listen to the cast of "Hamilton" berate him. Remember? The show had ended, and his entourage was about to leave the theater, when the lecture began.

Disrespecting him was one thing. The flag? Never.

When you tick off a polite man like Pence, the wind has really shifted.

Monday saw Meryl Streep speak out against Democratic Party fund-raiser Harvey Weinstein. I wonder how many times he slept with her. Let me count her Oscars.

How humiliating, having to walk back all that War on Women nonsense she spewed about Bush 43 and Romney. It turns out Bill Clinton was not the only one getting interns to kneel before him in the 1990s. Victims of such bullying often attack the innocent.

Tuesday saw Jemele Hill of ESPN learned basic economics. The network did not mind when she called the president a white supremacist. That won't get you in trouble unless the president is black. No, Hill made the mistake of calling for a boycott of Dallas Cowboys sponsors. Turns out they also are ESPN advertisers.

See you in two weeks, toots.

Wednesday saw NBC report that President Trump wants a lot of nukes to fight the North Koreans. The trouble with the story was it is completely false.

Trump had a little fun with this, asking via a tweet: "With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License?"

Oh no! The media immediately locked into its mode of Trump Attacked the First Amendment.

Sorry, Samuel Johnson. The First Amendment is now the final refuge of the scoundrel.

Remember, these are the same professionals who want to shut down Fake News on Facebook.

Thursday saw Trump saying gee, but we cannot fund Obamacare because Congress never appropriated the money. The court said so. Sorry.

There goes the legacy.

Today, President Trump became the first sitting United States president to speak at the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit.

Oh and he shot 73 golfing with Lindsey Graham on Monday.

He had a good week.

America had a good week.

Wall Street had a good week.

Washington's media had a terrible week. Hollywood too. And with the revelation that NBC censored Ronan Farrow's expose on Weinstein, the New York media had a bad week as well.

  1. Never Trumpers should never have backed that Bush anti-broccoli thing back in the day.

You just knew it would mission-creep to include spinach, and where are they now?

  2. "Tuesday saw Jemele Hill of ESPN learned basic economics."

Actually, no. She is getting paid while being off the air. She's getting money for nothing, [chicks for free].

Yep, Dire Straits went Full Donald long before The Donald did. Never go Full Donald.

    1. I think Don meant that Her economics lesson was what happens when one attacks advertisers of the cowboys, which directly impacts her employer. And also when one attacks the Cowboys and the NFL, who's success directly impacts her employer.

  3. Jemele Hill just got an extra two week paid vacation. That's not exactly punishment.

  5. A really bad week for Liars inc would be to have NBCs license revoked. To have a really good week for DT would be a law for taxes passed overriding McCains vote.

    Wonderful line.

  7. At every turn, the President is restoring American Democracy, whether leaving UNESCO, stopping the illegal funding of Obamacare or exiting the illegal One-Man Iran Treaty.

The press is dutifully parroting the Mullahs, pretending that Iran isn't already violating the deal and pursuing nukes.

While Obama clearly entered into a conspiracy with his Iranian owners, the GOPe entered into a conspiracy with him, enabling them to fool the rubes by pretending to be against the Iran Deal without really raising enough hell to $top it.

    Thank God for our President.

What Don Surder has apparently forgotten is that the broadcast license has always had a "serving the public interest" component to determine who should get or keep an allocation of a finite resource, namely broadcast licenses.

Is Don or the Opposition going to argue that letting a company with a well known history of altering audio and video to promote the Hands Up Don't Shoot lie, which led to the death of cops and widespread loss of property, is in the public interest?
