Why programs never die

Three words that alert any honest American that an item is Fake News:
First on CNN
And so it goes with a "First on CNN" lie that President Trump is ending a bureaucratic program created to the behest of Michelle Obama.

From CNN:
The Trump administration is discontinuing a signature girls education initiative championed by former first lady Michelle Obama, according to officials.
The "Let Girls Learn" program, which she and President Barack Obama started in 2015 to facilitate educational opportunities for adolescent girls in developing countries, will cease operation immediately, according to an internal document obtained by CNN.
That is a lie.

Concocted by a bureaucrat and shopped to CNN to feed the network's obsession with ruining Donald Trump's presidency.

CNN president Jeff Zucker is a petty little man who spitefully lashes out at Trump, whose show, "The Apprentice," helped save NBC's prime-time ratings when Zucker presided over the prime-time lineup.

From the New York Times:
A senior administration official said there was no plan to end or even rebrand the program, calling the letter a result of an unauthorized and erroneous decision by a career government employee. When Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson’s staff learned of the memo on Monday, they insisted that it be reviewed, said the official, who discussed private deliberations on the condition of anonymity.
R. C. Hammond, Mr. Tillerson’s spokesman, declined to answer questions, providing only a terse statement that said, “No changes have been made to the Let Girls Learn program.” He referred additional queries to the Peace Corps, which did not return phone calls and emails seeking comment.
It is very telling that even the Fake New York Times could not spread this lie.

Sadly, the real story is that this unconstitutional program will never die.

Once created, no federal program ever really dies.

This one should.

First, it discriminates against boys.

Second, it spends money on domestic programs outside the United States, which Congress has no authority to do.

Every program in federal government is created in the name of doing good. Every program has a constituency. Every constituency has a marketing savvy supporter who knows how to spin the media like a top.

End Planned Parenthood funding? Hell, we cannot even change the name of "Let Girls Learn."

On November 8, 2016, the American people said, "Trump the Establishment!"

Now read the book that explains how and why the press missed this historic the election.

It is available on Kindle, and in paperback.

And then read the original, "Trump the Press," which chronicled and mocked how the media missed Trump's nomination.

  1. We should just put it out of its misery.

  2. "Concocted by a bureaucrat and shopped to CNN to feed the network's obsession with ruining Donald Trump's presidency."

In this case, involving a minor outreach program of doubtful direct value to the United States, why did the Trump administration cave to outside pressure instead of doing the rational, strategic thing, namely, once the fake memo was made public, they should have driven a stake through the heart of that program and killed it. That would be a warning to Obama CS holdovers that if they try to embarrass the current administration with such antics, their lies might just happen to backfire on them. As it is, the administration has taken flak for something they didn't do, and the outage and damage the leaker wanted have occurred as intended.

  3. If it hasn't been killed, why not?

I just have that empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. I've seen the movie before where republicans turn to absolute pussies and basically tell the base to shove it, or get over it.

  4. Every program needs to have a sunset clause. Make the congresscritters go on record every time it comes up for renewal. - Elric
