Trump trolled the media to cover Obamagate

One month ago today, President Trump tweeted, "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"

I read the tweet, finished my coffee, and an hour later explained to my readers exactly what Trump did.

Hate to say I told you so. But I did.

Oh whom am I kidding? I love saying I told you so.

From that first post -- "Obama wire-tapped Trump Tower" -- forward, I have offered mine observations on Obamagate.

And I told you so.

From that first post:
President Trump offered no "proof," which should fake the Fake News media into jumping all over him. Then, when the Trump-is-crazy calls reach a peak, boom, out comes the proof that Obama indeed used the power of his office to spy on a political opponent.
Like clockwork, the media hopped on the story, portraying President Trump as a madman.

They called him a fool.

From the Washington Post:
Trump, citing no evidence, accuses Obama of ‘Nixon/Watergate’ plot to wiretap Trump Tower
From the New York Times:
Trump, Offering No Evidence, Says Obama Tapped His Phones
From the Hill:
Dems tear into Trump over Obama wiretapping claims
From the Hill:
Top Obama adviser to Trump: 'No president can order a wiretap'
From the Washington Post:
Donald Trump was a conspiracy-theory candidate.  Now he's on the edge of being a conspiracy-theory president.
President Trump is crazy.

Like a fox.

See if I am not right.

The night before his tweet, CNN's spy camera caught Trump acting angry in the Oval Office. The media portrayed this as anger over the Fake News about Trump being Russia's puppet.

From ABC:
Trump flashes anger over Sessions recusal, Russia stories in tense Oval Office meeting
That may have been true. I don't know. I wasn't there.

But in retrospect, President Trump may have reacted to a story in the National Review that day which reported the Obama administration received a secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant weeks before the election to spy on a server at Trump Tower.

From National Review:
To rehearse briefly, in the weeks prior to June 2016, the FBI did a preliminary investigation, apparently based on concerns about a server at Trump Tower that allegedly had some connection to Russian financial institutions. Even if there were such a connection, it is not a crime to do business with Russian banks — lots of Americans do. It should come as no surprise, then, that the FBI found no impropriety and did not proceed with a criminal investigation.
What is surprising, though, is that the case was not closed down. Instead, the Obama Justice Department decided to pursue the matter as a national-security investigation under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
The court turned down that request to spy on Trump's campaign. But the story went on to state:
The Obama Justice Department came back to the FISA court in October — i.e., in the stretch run of the presidential campaign. According to various reports (and mind you, FISA applications are classified, so the leaks are illegal), the October application was much narrower than the earlier one and did not mention Donald Trump. The FISA Court granted this application, and for all we know the investigation is continuing.

Barack Obama was spying on Donald Trump.

So how did Trump get out the word about this Watergate on Steroids?

By Twitter.

Once again he said something that was just enough off for the media to jump on it thinking this time -- finally this time -- we have got him trapped. There is no escape.

But there was an escape, and he made it. Just as the Road Runner passes through the tunnel Wile E. Coyote painted on the boulder, so President Trump sails through another media storm.

A month later, there is no doubt anywhere that the Obama administration spied on Citizen Trump.

Susan Rice -- Obama's favorite henchwoman -- is in deep doo-doo for her involvement in this illegal political espionage.

From today's New York Post editorial:
Rice certainly wasn’t politically naive about the political uses of intelligence information. She was, after all, the Obama official who famously made the rounds spouting the false “Our intell says it was about the video” line on the Benghazi attack back during the 2012 campaign.
All of this puts the actions of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes in clearer perspective. After viewing the Rice requests at the White House, he disclosed that Trump officials had been caught up in incidental surveillance.
All of which is a reminder that two issues are in play here: Russian meddling in the election, about which the nation already knows plenty — and the Obama team’s efforts to sabotage Team Trump.
Meep, meep.

President Trump played Beat the Media, and won.

He always does.

They never learn. They will fall for the errant tweet -- the well-timed gaffe -- again and again because the people in the media are not very bright.

This is not Eighth Dimensional Chess in Outer Space Underwater with Sharks.

This is Tic Tac Toe.

And he is letting them go first.

Still they lose because after all these years they refuse to accept that Donald Trump -- a mere billionaire -- is smarter than them.

  1. Now, Don! We know you don't "hate to say you told us so", but we love you anyway. Sure, you admitted it pretty quick, and we love you all the more for that!

  2. Trump is Haiku master on twitter

  3. I still say 53 dimension virtual Stealth ninja chess, but that's because he was paying attention in tactics class and the newsies were trying to figure out which lip gloss looked best.

  4. "I read it the tweet, finished my coffee, and an hour later explained to my readers exactly what Trump did."

"Hey," said the young bull to the old bull. "The farmer's left the gate to the cows' field open. Let's rush down and do a couple of them."

"No, young 'un ", said the old bull to the young bull. "Let's WALK down, and do the LOT."

  5. The anti-Trumpians continue to double down hoping to wriggle off the hook. Now they're parsing words like a potato peeler. Trump claims obama tapped his wires. Since there's no proof yet this goes all the way down to obama, the media poodles are jumping on that to claim Trump lied. And since no one has "proven" his phones were tapped, Trump must be lying. When it all comes out they'll still be churning out the baloney.

Best law of human evolution: If it works, keep doing it.

    1. (2nd) Best 'law' of Einstein: Crazy: "doing the same thing over and over and expect different results"

  7. I believe President trump knows a LOT more than he is letting on and he is simply toying with the miscreant Democrats to make them sweat and squirm. Then when the time is right - BAM! They are hoisted by their own petard. I can't wait to see what happens next. Tell me again: Why Obama left the country for an extended period of time? You'll know the end is near when Nazi collaborator George Soros slinks out of the country. - Elric

    1. Obama din't just 'leave the country'. He's in Tahiti, French Polynesia which just so happens to not have an extradition treaty with the U.S.
Of course, for that, all you really need is SEAL Team 6.

  8. He is winning on Fake News, but he is running into headwinds on getting legislation passed. Never seen such an incompetent Congress.

  9. Smarter than they...

    You're welcome.

  10. They lose every time because they can't admit he's intelligent. If they could believe that he is intelligent, they would approach all interactions differently and he would lose a great deal of his advantage. Not all of course because it's obvious that Trump is both intelligent and clever. It's classic really. The press has repeatedly underestimated their foe and, as a result, looks all the more idiotic. It has become obvious that the press is filled almost entirely by indoctrinated fools

  11. For 4-5 months now we've been told by the news that Trump is in cahoots with the Russians.

They have yet to offer proof, but promise that if we just keep digging, we're sure to find something.

Yesterday Trump says Susan Rice may have committed a crime.

Today the news people are hyperventilating because they say he has no proof.

He's doing it again, and they fell for it. Again.

  12. "This is not Eighth Dimensional Chess in Outer Space Underwater with Sharks.

    This is Tic Tac Toe.

And he is letting them go first."

An excellent summation of what is going on. The blathering idiots of mass media are so wrapped up in their self perceived importance that they are blinded to reality. That, and Trump has them in an OODA Loop and will not let up. Meanwhile their ratings and respectability (if they ever had any) continue to slide deeper and deeper into the abyss.
