The owner of Southern Helicopters told the news station his choppers are grounded every time Trump arrives in the area.

DeleteAlthough he was a superb college athlete, the press branded Gerald Ford a stumbling nincompoop in order to help elect the Einstein shading genius and Nuclear Scientist Jimmy Carter. Meanwhile, To continue skiing after his presidency, Ford bought a home in an obscure little Colorado town called Vale. While the press, led by the NYT, labored and lied every day to make excuses for the worst president in history,until Obama, another press masterpiece, beat him out for the title. Indeed, among other unforced errors, Carter created 25% stagflation and catastrophe in the Middle East for 2 generations to follow, a legacy of failure Raging even now. In the meantime, Ford watched his vacation home skyrocket in value as people flocked to buy homes near him, fine man that he was and Vale prospered mightily. So it will be in Palm Beach.
ReplyDeleteThe Daily News is owned by a real estate billionaire who hates Trump's guts. The paper itself is an economic failure and has so far been unsellable. Yet when you are a billionaire, like say Emperor Bezos of WaPo or Mort Zuckerman of the News, profits from selling your mechanical wind up toys that only bark, walk in circles, then fall over are of no importance to your bottom line. You can make yourself happy all the time, do or say what you want.
He wants the Daily News to be like Mrs. Carlson's WKRP--a BIG tax writeoff money-loser.

In years past, as I recall, Republican candidates and Republican presidents made it a point to pay their obligated security bills to the local authorities, while the Democrats were known for not paying their bills and stiffing the locals. The Trump administration should pay the bona fide security costs for his visits there as a matter of Republican honor...unless it's a Hillary Democrat or NeverTrumper who has his hand out for payment, in which case the White House should just say "I won, screw you!"
ReplyDeleteOr turn the tables, thoroughly vet the chopper guy, then instead of having him grounded, have him fly dignitaries on tours. There is a lot of stuff well worth seeing in that region.
