The review revealed things in the book I had forgotten were in there!
From Katharine G. Myers:
“your bias is too strong to provide the objectivity the public deserves”That is a great review and these reviews really help.
When Trump was asked why he was running for president, he said, “Politicians are never going to turn this country around.” (pg. 149)
The MSM were still using their old playbook of journalism and never took Trump and his millions of supporters seriously. In fact, reporters and journalists gleefully took every opportunity to sneer at Trump personally and laugh at any chance of his winning. Weekly, sometimes daily, they predicted the end of Trump (pg. 165) while helping to make Hillary the first woman president. They never saw what was brewing outside their cloistered existence and were gobsmacked on election night. "The race was over. Gone in thirty minutes as Michigan counted its votes. The number crunchers knew it, even though the television outlets would not call it until the wee hours of Wednesday, November 9." (pg. 228)
Don Surber took note and chronicled all of it -- the derogatory comments, the lies, the blatant bias, the entire appalling behavior of the MSM -- in his latest book, TRUMP THE ESTABLISHMENT.
‘“If you’re a working journalist and you believe that Donald J. Trump is a demagogue playing to the nation’s worst racist and nationalistic tendencies, that he cozies up to anti-American dictators and that he would be dangerous with control of the United States nuclear codes, how the heck are you supposed to cover him?” Rutenberg [NY Times] wrote on August 7.
‘Wait a second. If you believe all those things, then you should not be covering him because your bias is too strong to provide the objectivity the public deserves.’ [Surber’s conclusion; pg. 29]
This book is the sequel to Surber’s often hilarious TRUMP THE PRESS and just as excellent. Together they are the ultimate reference books on the 2016 presidential election.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

When normality is defined deviantly it is easy to reach the conclusion that the perfectly normal neighbor next door is some kind of beast.
ReplyDeleteThis is the way the left sees us. And this is the way they view Trump. Compare Trump's basic set of values to any president of the forties through the sixties. Yeah, pretty liberal.
Another ACE review! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteMuch deserved rave reviews.
