About that Nancy Sinatra tweet: "Why do you lie, CNN?"

A reader asked me to opine on a tweet from Nancy Sinatra, "That's not true. I never said that. Why do you lie, CNN?"

First I read the tweet.

Then I verified it.

Nancy Sinatra said that. CNN misquoted her and she called them out on that.

Now for the rest of the story. Nancy Sinatra is no fan of Donald Trump. Not hardly. Not never.

On Twitter, she lists herself as: "Mom, Grandma, Singer, DJ, Actor, Author. NRDC Activist. ACLU, SAG, AFTRA, AGVA #unionmember. Latest Release: Shifting Gears."

She cheers on those who are part of The Resistance.

I cannot think of many people who are more opposed to his policies.

OK?

And yet she called out CNN for misquoting her.

Why?

Because she stands up for the truth. You cannot be for the truth and like liars.

CNN is Fake News run by people who are OK with reporters lying.

Until I start seeing people fired for lying like this, I can only conclude that Time-Warner approves of faking the news.

Good for Nancy Sinatra to put politics aside and stand up for the truth.

I thank her for doing the right thing. Not many people on the left or the right seem comfortable doing that all the time.

Please read "Trump the Press." I don't think Nancy Sinatra would read it, but maybe she would because I skewer media experts who wrongly predicted Trump would lose the Republican nomination. You really don't have to support Trump to enjoy the book.

"Trump the Press" is available as a paperback, and on Kindle.

It covers the nomination process only. The general election will be covered in a sequel, "Trump the Establishment."

  3. Well, Nancy was (is) a "soft liberal" or an "old school liberal", completely unlike what evolved into today's Ctrl-Left people like Swift-Boat Kerry.

Mostly an entertainer and old-money softy that touts charities and activities for "little brown babies" (Bergman's money line) and the like representing that feel good barbiturate and vodka Hollywood crowd.

To look for tell-tale high water marks from these at-the-time failing entertainers look to their Vietnam whereabouts:

    ----------
Q: You have sung for Rolling Thunder and at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. What do Vietnam veterans come up and say to you?

Sinatra: Mostly they tell me they saw one of my shows in NaTrang or Pleiku or Monkey Mountain, that sort of thing.

Q: What has the Vietnam War done to help society provide a better return for the soldiers leaving the military today?

Sinatra: Our troops will never suffer the indignities of being scorned and ignored ever again. I believe the country learned a huge lesson and now everyone understands how important the words are, “welcome home.”

    And, a reader's comment:

"Nancy did what the other gutless ………………would not do, she stuck up for us, she supported us and was very kind. May the Good Lord watch over her and protect her. Flag Keeper!

What was Mr.Swift Boat doing at the time? Negotiating his own peace accord, of course.

Liberal, yes; However, she's no Madonna or Lady Gaga or Rosey--lifelong members of Liars Inc.

Actually, then, a follow up I would sorta expect from (old school) Nancy. Good for her.

  6. CNN says she tweeted “Just remember the first line of the song.”
She actually tweeted “Just remember the first line of the song.”
Which part of that is a misquote?
She’s deleted the tweet, but it’s still in Google’s cache:
