Taiwan story shows again CNN is fake news

CNN continues to wage a war on Trump, its latest effort being: "Trump risks showdown with China after call with Taiwan."

If CNN thinks China is so trigger-happy -- so violent -- so bloodthirsty -- that it will start World War III over Trump taking a congratulatory call from Taiwan's president, then what does that make of President Obama selling arms to Taiwan?

Or did no one at that fake news network bother to Gogle?

From CNN one year ago:
Despite strong opposition from China, the Obama administration authorized a $1.83 billion weapons sale to Taiwan Wednesday, marking the first U.S. arms shipment to the island in four years.
Consisting almost exclusively of defensive weapons, the military package includes two U.S. Navy guided Oliver Hazard Perry class missile frigates, amphibious assault vehicles, and anti-aircraft and anti-ship systems, according to David McKeeby, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
"U.S. arms sales to Taiwan are guided by the Taiwan Relations Act and based on an assessment of Taiwan's defense needs," McKeeby said.
"Our longstanding policy on arms sales to Taiwan has been consistent across six different U.S. administrations," he added. "We believe our consistent policy has contributed to the security of Taiwan, and has also supported the maintenance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait."
My Twitter feed last night was packed with tweets from news media types who said this broke protocol, blah, blah, blah.

Shortly after midnight, the Associated Press reported:
Hong Kong's Phoenix TV reports that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Saturday the call between Taiwan's president and Trump was "just a small trick by Taiwan." He said he thought it would not change longstanding U.S. policy toward China.
Calm down, news fakers.

President Trump sets foreign policy now.

He will be the commander-in-chief effective 20 JAN 17.

President Trump took the call because it was polite. If that upsets Red China, that is icing on the cake. That CNN shows its ass once again is the cherry on top.

"Trump the Press" skewers media experts who wrongly predicted Trump would lose the Republican nomination. I use my deadliest weapon: their own words. "Trump the Press" is available as a paperback, and on Kindle.

  1. The media are the ones pushing for war. Hillary was the war candidate. I'm just hoping Trump doesn't fall for a Lusitania or Maine.
Great use of 'fakir'. They may as well be Muslim beggars. They cowtow to them and take their money. Actually worse than beggars. Beggars do it because they are desperate. These guys do it out of spite for their neighbor (us).

  2. The very very first action of Mr. Trump's presidency should be to get that bust of Winston Churchill back in the Oval Office. That'll REALLY piss off the media. China's shenanigans are not gonna be tolerated by Mad Dog, nor DJT. And it's nice to see smart countries acknowledging that, yeah, there's a new Sherriff in town and he ain't gonna put up with any shullbit.

    1. I hope like anything Trump quotes from Winnie in his MAGA Day (a/k/a Inauguration Day) speech IN FRONT of Barack Insane Obama. Something like, "now, this is not the end. This is not even the beginning of the end. But this is the end of the beginning." Cut to BIO with smoke gushing out of ears....

  3. This is never going to stop.Ever. The shuddering liberal readers of what the Brits call "old Media" and the uncritical viewers hooked on Jerry Springer chaos like CNN love every lie and every fake threat. They are like kids listening to ghost stories around the campfire. The old Media is making money on DT and they can't stop. George Steinbrenner once said that if it would fill seats in his (then) half empty stadium he would be willing to put Hitler in left field. Zucker and the sniviling NYT editors have evoked George's shade to save themselves from oblivion and there he is, near the wall in his red hat, waiting for their easy

  5. Yes, all the fake news I get is from Big Media.

  6. President Trump can take control of the White House press room and only issue access to honest news agencies. If he does that it will be empty for a long time.
They need him more than he needs them. He has twitter, facebook and youtube available to communicate with the public.

  7. We should remember the Hainan Island incident, April 2001, which China used or orchestrated to test Bush II shortly after his inauguration. (US Navy plane held by Chinese after collision with intercept aircraft)

Now, Trump has benignly taken a call from Taiwan, but the message sent by that call is likely to avoid an incident that could lead to armed conflict.

China wants to know if they can push around the new president like they did the old, now they have a pretty good idea as to the answer.

  8. Poor ol' CNN, falling for that wavering Schwerpunkt again.

    Hypnotic, isn't it, Leftards?

  9. Don, as an aside, how do you see events playing out if enough electors are intimidated or bamboozled into going "rogue" so that Trump does not end up with the needed number?

  10. The government of China does not tell the President of the US who he may speak with. They are not our master; we are not their servants.

  11. "President Trump took the call because it was polite."

True. But I hope he also realizes we should publicly acknowledge our friends and stand by them. Jimmuh Cahtuh's 1979 decision on Taiwan was just awful.
