Gretchen Carlson accuses Ailes of sexual harassment

Fox News presenter Gretchen Carlson quit and filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the network, saying she refused to sleep with its chief, Roger Ailes.

The dude is 76. If true, can we just ban Viagra? That stuff is trouble.

Fox News is a $2 billion-a-year profit center for News Corporation, with most of the money coming from subscriber fees charged anyone who gets Fox on cable TV.

CNN media reporter Ted Kludt reported on Twitter.
I could not find a posting at CNN. Odd.

But the New York Daily News, a tabloid rival of News Corporation's New York Post, reported:
The host of "The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson" left the network after 11 years when her contract expired on June 23.
Carlson, 50, alleges that she was pushed out because she spurned Ailes's sexual advances and complained about the treatment of women in the newsroom by their male co-workers.
"I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you'd be good and better and I'd be good and better," the complaint quotes Ailes as in a meeting with the former Miss America last September.
"Sometimes problems are easier to solve (that way)."
The complaint also accuses on-air colleague Steve Doocy of contributing to the hostile environment.
It is a federal lawsuit filed in Bergen County, New Jersey.

When the media is not out screwing the public, they are trying to screw one another, eh? Don't know if her allegations are true, but I have a feeling Ailes will retire soon.

    1. Leave it.

It was true when posted. And we need to know how the Lefty media has to consult with each other to get its story straight.

    2. Oh wow. "It was true" for what, all of 15 minutes? Now, if story was known yesterday, you know when Donald Trump said favorable things about Saddam Hussein, and CNN did not report, then you're on to something. As usual, you are not.

  2. Sounds like the Murdoch brothers want complete control.

  3. 'Doocy engaged in a pattern and practice of severe and pervasive sexual harassment of Carlson, including, but no limited to, mocking her during commercial breaks, shunning her off air, refusing to engage with her on air, belittling her contributions to the show, and generally attempting to put her in her place by refusing to accept and treat her as an intelligent and insightful journalist rather than a blond (sic) female prop," the complaint alleges.'

Ailes is alleged to have told her, Stop being so damned sensitive. In the real world, unless you work alone and for yourself, you're going to have to deal with co-workers who hate your guts. No one is universally loved.

If I had to guess, I'd say she was really let go because of her age (and because she's no Megan Kelly). Now that would be grounds for a lawsuit. At an age of 50 y/o, I'd guess she's unlikely to be picked up by another network, so her days in front of the cameras reading the news are probably over. She's got nothing to lose by filing a suit whether the merits of it are good or bad (on which I have no opinion).

    1. Gretchen is 50, Megyn is 45, so no grounds for age discrimination since both are over 40.

  4. Comes of the media establishment being in bed with sleaze bags. You lie down with Clintons, you get up with fleas. Or something in that line.

  5. Roger Ailes is 76 years old and obviously not in tip-top shape for getting it on, so his oogling her butt is just a harmless old man habit - give me a break!

Also, there is the fact that Gretchen accused Fox and Friends co-host Steve Doocy of creating a "sexist environment" in 2009 - by actually touching her. Touchers, male and female, just do that naturally.

She sounds kind of bitchy to me. That will get you fired quicker than anything. Feel sorry for her husband who has to live with her.
