Finally, proof that Hillary runs the media

Julian Assange leaked emails that show Hillary Clinton's campaign coordinated with the press to launch a covert attack on Bernie Sanders. We finally have proof that many political reporters are -- as Glenn Reynolds put it -- Democratic operatives with bylines.

They are doing this against Trump, of this you can be sure.

From the New York Post:
Democratic Party bigwigs enlisted prominent media outlets to slant coverage to boost Hillary Clinton and sandbag Bernie Sanders, according to some of the 19,000 e-mails hacked from the Democratic National Committee’s servers and posted to WikiLeaks.
The messages reveal behind-the-scenes meetings and off-the-record exchanges between DNC operatives and staffers at newspapers, networks and news Web sites, including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, MSNBC, Politico and RealClearPolitics.
In one case, an investigative reporter at Politico gave DNC officials a sneak peek at an article about Clinton’s state-party fund-raising — before his editor even saw the piece.
“Per agreement . . . any thoughts appreciated,” wrote Politico’s Ken Vogel to the DNC’s national press secretary, Mark Paustenbach, on April 30.
And of course the Never Trumpers who claim they are not for Hillary carry the leftist party line to the right. A lot of money is riding on keeping the border open.

How did Ozzy Osbourne put it?
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role
The older I get, the more I realize we're riding on a Crazy Train.

So the spin is Russia leaked this. Via the Washington Examiner:
Robby Mook, during an interview Sunday on ABC's "This Week," told host George Stephanopoulos that although Russians had claimed responsibility for hacking the party's internal servers and stealing the information, their motive may not have been just to help their state leaders.
"It's troubling that some experts are now telling us that this was done by the Russians for the purpose of helping Donald Trump," Mook said without naming his sources. The Clinton aide claimed the Republican nominee has become "pro-Russian" since last week, indicating he may be on board with the Russians who oversaw the hack.
"I think that what's troubling is how he praised Vladimir Putin," Mook said about Trump's remarks during his convention speech Thursday night. "It's troubling how last week he said NATO should not protect Eastern Europe allies."
Weird. Just plain weird. Trump does not need money and how are you going to blackmail a thrice-married man?

From Austin Bay:
Note Robby Mook neglects to name the “some experts” who tell him helping Trump was what motivated Russian hackers. He does yoke Trump to Vladimir Putin. But Hillary’s the one who re-set relations, didn’t she, Robby? Seems Robby Mook has determined Russian motives but for Jim Comey and the FBI Hillary’s motives remained opaque. Poor security may have permitted the DNC hack, Robby — like, gross negligence.
The Trump campaign spin as reported by The Hill:
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's campaign chairman said Sunday that the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) leaked emails show the party favored presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton from the start.
"What's in those emails show it was clearly a rigged system," Paul Manafort said on ABC's "This Week."
I stand outside all this spinning.

  1. Nevertumpers better get on this and save Hillary post-haste. Their last chance to get a "principled conservative" neocon in the executive office is slipping away.

  2. Here is the link to the documentary, "Clinton Cash"
Utterly astonishing in everything it implies and then proves. The Clintons should be put far, far away from civilized people

  3. "to boost Hillary Clinton and sandbag Bernie Sanders"

Shows the difference between word usages between different folks. Had you said to me that someone was sandbagging a candidate, I would have assumed you meant "reinforcing him against rising floodwaters", not "taking a blackjack to him".

"Five Feet High And Rising" doesn't get much airplay in NYC, huh?

  4. Is this new revelation a change from the past? Of course not. The media in one form or another has hated and worked actively against the Republican Party and conservatives in general since the time of Richard Nixon. No, not the 1974 Nixon but way back to 1948 when Nixon outed Alger Hiss as a Soviet agent. The Justice Department's 1948 versions of Comey and Lynch allowed Hiss to be charged only with perjury so he would not suffer the deserved fate, execution, of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg

    1. I'd take it further back than that. Read about what Lincoln had to contend with, and the egregiousness in the reporting is there too, along with the concomitant excessively-flowery verbiage of the period. Who taught the reporters of that time how to write anyway? Mark Twain seems to have thought it was Sir Walter Scott.

Of course, were we in those times, Bill Clinton would by now have been tarred and feathered by the good Ladies of the Temperance League. And run out of town with a sign around his neck screaming "FORNICATOR!".

That mental picture really makes one warm to those frenetic old biddies of a century and a half ago.
