Why hoax is my default reaction

If it looks too good to be true, it is.

Consider the case of Central Michigan University professor Mari Poindexter who said someone shouted gay and transgender slurs at her and blackened her eye at a bar after a Toby Keith concert.

From the Daily Caller:
Turns out, Poindexter got the shiner because she “punched herself in the eye,” according to local police.
Poindexter’s story began to unravel when police probed the incident. Investigators sat down with her to review security footage from the bar to identify the man, court documents say. Then, when the investigators informed Poindexter that there was also surveillance footage of the parking lot, she became anxious. She said she was no longer interested in viewing any video which might incriminate her assailant.
Six days after the attack, on Aug. 25, a woman called police saying that Poindexter was threatening to kill herself with an overdose of pills, according to Central Michigan Life, the CMU campus newspaper.
Poindexter was on the phone with the woman who called police. Later in the call, police say, Poindexter admitted to concocting the story about getting punched and spat on.
Poindexter made up the story and cold-cocked herself in her own right eye “because she wanted to raise awareness about the social hardships of people in the LGBTQ+ community,” according to court documents.
Hoaxes will continue until we penalize hoaxers.

  1. I'm thinking that the biggest LGBTQ-themed hoax of all time was that dude in -- where was it? - Utah(?) that got murdered so brutally.

Homophobic hate was supposedly the motivating factor and the incident became some sort of rallying point, but apparently he was murdered by someone known to him, I think a bisexual drug dealer over a transaction gone bad.

The left, which never lets a good crisis go to waste, is equally adept at manufacturing the crises.

So is this why the legal definition of marriage has been altered?

  2. Matthew Shepard was the guy murdered in Wyoming. The police knew it at the time, but didn't want to jump in front of the moving freight train that was the media narrative at the time.

  3. I blame Sledge:

"Time to pick on somebody your own size."

  4. This is what is known as a transgendered identity crisis: her old self punched his new self in the eye. As for the suicide threat, I'm guessing this: Poindexter was convinced she was a woman trapped in a man's body but now believes he's a man trapped in a woman's body. There ain't no do overs. You cross the track, you ain't goin' back.

  5. Yes, Mathew Shepard. Wyoming. Thank you, everyone.

I stand by my supposition that the false narrative was a link in the chain that brought us both same-sex marriage and mandatory legal recognition of it.

  6. I've said it before, I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body. I've known it for many years but have never felt the urge to beat my self... At least not like THAT!

  7. Or maybe she tried to rape her hand and it fought back?

  8. Typical self hatred of the mentally ill perversion known as transgendered.
