Obama: You can keep your guns. Period.

President Obama is angry that Ted Cruz is running an ad saying Barack Obama and the Democratic Party want to take your guns:
"I've said this repeatedly I'm happy to meet with them. I'm happy to talk to them, but the conversation has to be based on facts and truth and what we're actually proposing, not some...imaginary fiction in which Obama is trying to take away your guns."
Imaginary fiction? Is there another kind?

Oh yes, liberal "facts."

However, last month, Obama sang a different tune when Democrats gleefully seized a gun killing of white people (400 black men killed in Chicago last year does not seem to be much if a problem to Democrats). Obama said:
"We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings. Friends of ours, allies of ours — Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours. So we know there are ways to prevent it.
While it is nice of Obama to finally admit England is an ally after expelling the Churchill bust from the White House in 2009, the fact is, England bans gun use even by its police. Australia also confiscated weapons.

Democrats want our guns. Please note that big cities run by Democrats are where the gun murders occur. Any more, I wonder if letting crime go rampant does not help the Democratic Party.

At any rate, his statement is FALSE.

  1. When the police, the National Guard, the armed forces, the Coast Guard, the Secret Service, the FBI, and now dozens of Federal government agencies like the EPA---when they all give up their guns, then we can talk about The People giving up their right to own guns. Let the government go first, then we'll see how serious he is about the issue. Of course, he has the option of submitting a proposal to amend the Constitution and its Bill of Rights, but he's made it clear he prefers to skip the "technicalities" of the law.

  2. Since the intent of the 2nd Amendment by the Founders was to arm citizens so that a repeat of the King's attempt to seize arms at Concord and Lexington in 1775 was not too easy under our 1789 Constitution. So, we are guaranteed as citizens by the Constitution to be armed as would be a government soldier. One could say automatic weapons thus should be as available as semi-auto ones. Specifically with that as the amendment's intent, the government departments and military would effectively have to be disarmed to disarm citizens. Or legally delete the 2nd Amendment from our Constitution. When the Federal Department of Education has SWAT teams, citizens definitely need to be armed.

  3. Or legally delete the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.

Removing the 2nd won't remove a citizens inherent right. Ever.
