This is what the Earth will look like after all the ice melts https://t.co/JtNPXtrUAG pic.twitter.com/PwAEpGNb7Y

Mother Jones magazine depicted what would happen to the world if all the ice disappeared. Well, scotch would not be as good.
But apparently the laws of physics would disappear as well, for California would disappear completely, including Mount Whitney, which rises 14,505 feet above sea level, while the low lying areas along the Mississippi would remain intact, as would the entire Eastern Seaboard.
That's a pretty neat trick. A 216-foot rise in the sea level would make a mountain 14,505 feet above sea level disappear while leaving in tact Manhattan.
Of course, we never have to worry about this. Most of the Earth's ice -- 90% -- is locked on two land masses: Greenland and Antarctica. The ice on Antarctica is growing.
Thanks for playing, Mother Jones. Here's your consolation prize: A Tweet.
@MotherJones Ah yes, the 1977 Superman movie in which Lex Luthor made California disappear by melting the ice caps
