Boo-hoo-hoo, Cubs fans

The last the Cubs were in the National League championship series, Punky Brewster went to a game. Cubs fans are fatalistic about the team's chances, and whine about not winning the World Series since 1908.

Big deal.

The White Sox won the World Series in 2007.

So Chicago has won a World Series in my lifetime.

The Cleveland Indians have not won a World Series since 1948 -- which was 5 years before I was born.

Then there are the Bears. They won the Super Bowl in 1985.

The Browns have never been to a Super Bowl. They last won the NFL championship in 1964.

Then there are the Bulls. NBA champions in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998.

The Cavaliers? Never.

Then there are the Black Hawks. Stanley Cups in 1934, 1938, 1961, 2010, 2013, and 2015.

The Cleveland Barons played in the NHL for two seasons.

In the last 50 years, Cleveland teams have won exactly Zero league championships.

Chicago teams have won 11.

So boo-hoo-hoo, Cubs fans. Boo-hoo-hoo.

  1. The White Sox are NOT the Cubs, and Cubs fans are Cubs fans, Don't know if they like Chicago teams other than the Sox, which they hate or despise, but a fan is a fan and Cubs are the Cubs, and that's all they care about. Me, I don't care about sports with balls, sticks, or any combination thereof.

Which is to say, I disagree with you on this one topic, about which I really don't care.
(Why did I do this, then?)

  2. some more perspective:

  3. This is 2015. Give the Cubs a shiny trophy for participating to restore their self-esteem and call it a day.
