Global warming team iced in

In their never-ending quest for some evidence -- any at all -- that man is causing irreparable harm to the environment, the social justice warriors headed to the Arctic to show the ice is melting. Should be easy pickings. It is, after all, summer, right?

They are iced in.

From the CBC:
A carefully planned, 115-day scientific expedition on board the floating research vessel, the CCGS Amundsen, has been derailed as the icebreaker was called to help resupply ships navigate heavy ice in Hudson Bay.
"Obviously it has a large impact on us," says Martin Fortier, executive director of ArcticNet, which coordinates research on the vessel. "It's a frustrating situation."
During the summer, the  Amundsen operates as a floating research center with experiments running 24 hours a day. This year it was scheduled to reach North Baffin Bay.
But the icebreaker has been rerouted to escort commercial ships en route to resupply communities in Northern Quebec on the eastern side of Hudson Bay.
Johnny Leclair, assistant commissioner for the Coast Guard, said Tuesday conditions in the area are the worst he's seen in 20 years.
Worst in 20 years? Bu-bu-but every year for the last 20 years has been the HOTTEST YEAR ON RECORD.

Oh wait, it hasn't.

They just say that.

The global warming stalled around 1998 and slowly we may be cooling.

  1. This is funny, as village idiots and court jesters are funny, not laugh-out-loud funny. Will these AlGoreBullWormers ever stop making predictions that don't go off-the-tracks and into the river/open-field badly?

  2. They're not warministas on that ship. CCGS stands for Canadian Coast Guard Ship. The Amundsen is an ice breaker that also carries scientists. The Canadian government has had scientific expeditions in the Arctic for the past 50 years or more. During the '70s and '80s there was a permanent base on the 'ice island', a very thick and stable sheet that drifted at will around the Arctic Ocean. The scientists drilled shafts through the island in order to study the ocean floor underneath.

What is worrying is that every summer the isolated communities in the Arctic archipelago receive the fuel for their diesel generators during the short ice free period. If the ships don't arrive the fuel will have to be airlifted in.

  3. Could not have happened to a nicer hubris group.

  4. The data and fact that you have been presented for the better understand the global warming effect is correct and easy to get.
    Thanks for the hard work.
