Why Obama doesn't want to win the war

President Obama and his staff have over-intellectualized the Global War On Terrorism to the point of absurdity. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf went on the Chris Matthews show and said: But we cannot win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need in the medium to longer term to go after the root causes that leads people to join these groups..."

Funny, we never went after the root causes of Nazism. We just killed them.

The White House knows this, which is proof of something the nation has been in denial about for nearly 14 years.

The Left does not want to win this war.

The Right Scoop offered this exchange between Harf and Chris Matthews on MSNBC:
MATTHEWS: How do we stop this? I don’t see it. I see the Shia militias coming out of Baghdad who are all Shia. The Sunnis hate them. The Sunnis are loyal to ISIS rather than going in with the Shia. You’ve got the Kurds, the Jordanian air force and now the Egyptian air force. But i don’t see any — If I were ISIS, I wouldn’t be afraid right now. I can figure there is no existential threat to these people. They can keep finding places where they can hold executions and putting the camera work together, getting their props ready and killing people for show. And nothing we do right now seems to be directed at stopping this.
HARF: Well, I think there’s a few stages here. Right now what we’re doing is trying to take their leaders and their fighters off the battlefield in Iraq and Syria. That’s really where they flourish.
MATTHEWS: Are we killing enough of them?
HARF: We’re killing a lot of them and we’re going to keep killing more of them. So are the Egyptians, so are the Jordanians. They’re in this fight with us. But we cannot win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need in the medium to longer term to go after the root causes that leads people to join these groups, whether it’s lack of opportunity for jobs, whether —
MATTHEWS: We’re not going to be able to stop that in our lifetime or fifty lifetimes. There’s always going to be poor people. There’s always going to be poor Muslims, and as long as there are poor Muslims, the trumpet’s blowing and they’ll join. We can’t stop that, can we?
HARF: We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance. We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people…
We know the root causes. We knew the root causes of the Confederacy. President Lincoln didn't care. He had a war to win.

For nearly 14 years, the Left has talked about root causes. Deep inside, they agreed with Osama bin Laden that the West -- particularly the United States -- is wicked. Oddly enough, the Left is disproportionately responsible for that wickedness as it pushed and celebrated the mainstreaming hard-core drugs, pornography, and other pleasures of the flesh. There were logical reasons why America was so "uptight" 50 years ago. Centuries of experience had taught the most successful people in the world -- Western Civilization -- the benefits of hard work and free enterprise, which led to developments of technology, the advancement of science, and medical achievements that doubled the life expectancy of every person on the planet.

What in the heck did these "multi-culturalism" civilizations give us?

But the Left is myopic as it gazes at their culture's navel, seeing only the lint of problems. Barack Obama rose because he represented this idealized fantasy of the multi-cultural American president who could bring everyone together under one banner and redeem the Evil America. And he does believe the nation is evil.
Pentagon bomber Bill Ayers was his political mentor.
Jeremiah Wright was his spiritual mentor.
George Soros was his financier.
But we want to deny that the rest of the nation elected as president someone who has contempt for the nation. We do not want to believe that anyone elected president would act against the nation's best interests. But he has.
He stopped calling it the Global War On terrorism.
He tried to close Gitmo, Medal of Honor recipient Dan Inouye stopped him.
He refused to reach a Status of Forces agreement in Iraq.
He outed the killers of Osama bin Laden.
He changed the subject to the Crusades when the Islamic State burned a pilot alive.
Marie Harf's words do not surprise men. She is like a global warming believer trying to explain the sudden rise in blizzards. She is just plain wrong. The entire administration is. And I think deliberately so.

EVIL.

  1. I had this argument with a liberal friend last month. He said the same thing: you can't make war against an ideology. Well, blow me over with a feather! Every war ever fought was for ideological reasons. Is it the left's contention that soldiers and generals just go to war for spits and giggles? You yourself understand the deeper argument, as well. Von Clausewitz wrote about the moral component in war, which meant pretty much anything intellectual. The idea is to overbear the enemies will. That is cranium territory, and shazam! Ideology.

  2. Why are Europeans flocking to ISIS? Because it gives meaning to life. So called "Progressivism" drives out all reasons to live besides immediate satisfaction of hedonistic desire. There is no life if there is no future. "Progressivism" results in a life without meaning, believing in nothing.

ISIS gives the lost something to die for. Something to belong to bigger than themselves. Something denied by "Progressivism" or life in the Middle Eastern dictatorships. Patton was wrong. It's not just Americans who love a winner. It is Human to want to be part of the winning team even at the risk to one's life. ISIS also provides a nice home for the psychopaths and morally bankrupt.

So how does one diminish the appeal of ISIS? Make them losers. The answer to "How many are you going to kill?" is "How many are left." That number will diminish faster than the body count because once ISIS is viewed as a lost cause, it will lose its appeal and its supporters will move on. It will be like eradicating cockroaches. Sure they are immortal and killing them one place just means they show up somewhere else. That doesn't mean you surrender to them. You just have to keep stomping on them when they show up.

  3. The Left didn't want to win the Cold War either. Reagan won it in spite of the Dimocrats. They called him a cowboy and SDI Star Wars, but he persevered and he won.

  7. It was, of course Bush the lesser who failed on the Iraq status of forces agreement: one of the few things he did that were in the interest of Americans.
The barking mad neocon filth have destroyed this country.

  8. The root causes of me working...
I feel an obligation to others.
I think my life matters and the work I do matters.
My life was given by God but nurtured by others. My work pays that debt.

    I am not a liberal.
but thinking about giving up and getting a check.

  9. I don't know where the real truth of the matter lies.
But it sure looks like Barry's a plant, handled by the Mullahs and it's a plan by the Left years in the making.
