NYT calls for violence over judicial pick

The New York Times Editorial Board has called on Democrats to wage a mafioso style war against President Trump. In a world with thousands of metaphors for fighting back, the Times chose the street battle in "The Godfather" to encourage Democratic opposition.

Given that four of our 45 presidents were assassinated and therewere serious attempts to kill four more, the Times has crossed into the danger zone of egging on another Lee Harvey Oswald or John Wilkes Booth.

"With Republicans controlling the Senate and the judicial filibuster dead, the Democrats’ odds of denying President Trump a second Supreme Court appointment are slim. Barring some unforeseen development, the president will lock in a 5-to-4 conservative majority, shifting the court solidly to the right for a generation," the Times said.

"This is all the more reason for Democrats and progressives to take a page from 'The Godfather' and go to the mattresses on this issue. Because this battle is about more than a single seat on the nation’s highest court. With public attention focused on all that is at stake with this alignment, this is the moment for Democrats to drive home to voters the crucial role that the judiciary plays in shaping this nation, and why the courts should be a key voting concern in Every. Single. Election."

"Go to the mattresses" refers to sleeping on the floor in shifts during a siege. The phrase dates back to 14th century Italy.

The Times made its intent clear: "This call to arms may sound overly dramatic. It’s not. As hyperpartisanship, gridlock and a general abdication of responsibility have rendered Congress increasingly dysfunctional, the judiciary is taking an ever-greater hand in policy areas ranging from immigration to guns to ballot access to worker rights."

The limo libs are rationalizing their call for violence by wrapping it in noble causes of the Virtue Signalling crowd at Starbucks.

Every presidential assassin or attempted assassin saw a noble cause that gave them a license to kill.

The editorial is a reminder why Jerry Springer canceled his show this year. He cannot compete for crazy with an America's political news media that is hellbent on stopping President Trump.

  1. Yeah, real smart, Leftards.

  2. The libs are the ones who made the judiciary (and the executive, for that matter) so important in our system, usurping the will of the people via their legislators, who have little or no say in how things actually run now. But no, rather than rethink whether the progressive project was well thought out, they want to kill anyone who threatens to take the reins of the system they created.

    Tough titties.

    1. Correct. The activist lower courts have forced the Supreme Court decisions to become major political issues. When a judge in Hawaii can no longer stop legitimate presidential or congressional actions, then we may be heading back towards some normalcy.

    1. So oust Roberts, over the adoption scandal or whatever Obama had on him, and get another CJ.

Nice to see them prove it.

  6. They want to implant the idea that whoever takes out DT will be a folk hero. It is a jihadist tactic. They celebrate their suicide bombers with holidays, parade under large images of them draped around every town square, then pay off their families.
The NYT still dreams of their drunken prostitute installed as Queen, of gamboling before her as jesters and dwarfs while secretly aiding their true Corporatea Masters to recover some of that 1.5 billion she Madoffed with in 16. The NYT editors deserve credit for openly declaring murder a legitimate tool in American politics. Usually they write like bedwetters squealing in the damp but now they do deserve some respect. I urge the Secret Service to interview the new NYT Scion in his ancestral Hamptons chalet ASAP.

  7. I find it intriguing, or frightening, that to propose a judge that will abide by the laws as enacted, is somehow a problem. Just goes to show how far left some elements of your society has now moved, that what is really a centerist position on interpretation, is now considered far right.

Hopefully I will never get the chance to call my friends south of the border, "Canada 2.0"

  8. Prosecute the NYT. With extreme prejudice. This is a page out of Jefferson Davis’s playbook. If you wanna go, motherfu—ers, we’ll go. Sedition against the United States of America. Terrorist threats. Inciting to riot. I’ll shoot y’all in the head and laugh.

    1. All NYC publications employ megabuck lawyers to vet every word at risk, chosen because they are those who know, sometimes personally, the judges who will be making any judgements on their client's indiscretion. So NYT felt safe in advocating something they will claim was from a movie and not to be taken seriously as "war" or violence. But they know what they are doing. In the editorial they urge immediate action by the Democrats to sieze the moment of anxiety they are confident exists now "because it won't last". This means take precipitous action: Just do it! Most socialist true believers are really pretty cowardly people. This why they come in mobs and wear masks. The message is not to them. It is for the unstable emotional non calculating doofus like the Scalese shooter, driven by impulse, The famous useful idiot, for them a cliche character, but one they know is out there, someone they can denounce but at the same time forgive for, you know, his regrettable childhood trauma. The exculpatory stories have probably already been test driven. Heroism, an abreviated sentence, riches from a book, the movie, the TV series, etc.

  10. Are these the same people who complained about Sarah Palin's innocent map symbols, claiming they were gun targets that marked Democrats to be shot?

  12. The NYT best remember that Trump voters not have a hell of a lot more guns than the pu$$ies on the left, they know how to use them.
