UN accidentally rips Obama

"UN poverty report blasting Trump, US for ‘hatred for the poor’ uses data from last year of Obama’s presidency," the Fox News headline said.

Hahaha.

This happened on Obama's watch, UN.

What a bunch of losers.

The international anti-Americans are just as incompetent as their domestic counterparts, who used horrific pictures of children in custody -- taken from Obama's concentration camps for youths.

"The U.N. report’s main contentions read like an attack on the Trump administration by the Democratic Party: America has 40 million poor people, including 18.5 million who live in extreme poverty; U.S. policies regarding the poor are 'cruel and inhuman;' the Trump tax cuts aren’t working and will worsen inequality; and the U.S. needs to spend less on defense of our nation and more on social programs," columnist Chuck DeVore wrote.

"But, wait a minute: the U.N. report’s main contentions are based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s official poverty measure data for 2016 – the last full year of President Obama’s second term. So it would be absurd to say that private citizen Donald Trump had any responsibility for the many shortcomings of the Obama administration or any other administration in power before he became president."

Of course, extreme poverty in America is considered middle class elsewhere in the world.

Other news outlets, sadly, missed the story. They did not vet the UN press release, but simply regurgitated all the anti-American talking points. Reuters reported, "America's poor becoming more destitute under Trump: U.N. expert."

That is wholly untrue. Jobs are up, unemployment is lower, and the number of people needing food stamps is down.

Reuters buried the story in Paragraph 9, when Reuters admitted the story was based on data from Obama's presidency. A more accurate headline would have been, "America's poor were more destitute under Obama."

Whata terrific news peg. President of hope and change made things worse for his voters while his deplorable successor improved conditions for them.

  2. "Incompetent" is not the word. They know exactly what they are doing, and it is not in our best interests. It's time to cut off all funding to the UN, get the U.S. out of the UN, and get the UN out of the U.S. President Trump is correct in dealing with nations bilaterally rather than through outdated and ineffective institutions. - Elric

  4. I hope Trump applies an anal can opener to the UN sometime soon. They have some prime real estate in NYC that could be detonated to provide Trump's near by Condo owners a better view of the East River. The UN has always been a sewer of envy and endless discontent. Its selfish shake downs have never been of benefit to any of its members, just it's bureaucracy. It is usless and cowardly in war and then always deceptive, like Reuters. Let it be gone.

  7. With more and more countries in Europe starting to give indications that they think Merkel is full of prunes re open borders, you can see the stirrings of the start of a revolution.

Whether it’s going to be just a cultural one, or a political one, too early to say.

  8. I live in one of the 10 poorest counties in the poorest state in the US. I guarantee anyone here would rather be poor and living here than any shithole country AND in any shithole US city.

  9. Can they do a standard-of-living rubric when comparing the world's poor. Because I'm pretty sure they would love, love, love to have the amenities and entitlements the US poor have.

  10. President Trump should get us out of the U.N. because they are racist for attacking obama.

  11. The US might have less poverty if it stopped importing so damned much of it.

  12. The only good UN is a dead UN, which is one without the US. I'd give them 30 days to get out, cancel their diplomatic visas, and send the Marines in to take over UN Plaza.

  13. Ya, Reuters doesn't want obvious Fake News as its headline -- but the fact that the UN is promoting Fake News should also be news.
