Trump let the Left outsmart itself

"NYT Columnist Worries Mueller Investigation Actually Helping Trump," wrote Peter Hasson of the Daily Caller.

Once again, the Left has been too clever by half in dealing with The Donald.

They view normal Americans as mouth-breathing idiots. We're not. And we were smart enough to elect a very sane genius as president.

But the Left thought a little witch hunt would doom the Trump presidency. The trouble is, sooner or later you have to produce a witch. And the Left does not have one.

That makes President Trump the victim of a Watergate on Steroids.

Obama wiretapped him, infested his campaign with spies, and then tried to frame him.

Trump has given Bumbling Bobby Mueller enough to hang himself, and that's him hanging on the shed.

Frank Bruni of the New York Times now worries that the Mueller investigation of Fake Scandal is distracting the public from other Fake Scandals.

"Maybe the just-published Politico report of Trump’s deliberate, cavalier use of a cellphone that doesn’t have strict security safeguards would be getting extra attention," Bruni wrote.

Oh yes, "cavalier use of a cellphone" is an impeachable offense, and "deliberate, cavalier use of a cellphone" is a felony.

"Without Mueller and Russia, Scott Pruitt would be closer to center stage, with an even brighter, harsher spotlight on him. He’s not exactly evading scrutiny, but he’s being spared the relentless top-of-the-screen, start-of-the-newscast treatment that he would likely endure if lawmakers, journalists and other watchdogs weren’t so mesmerized by the convoluted twists of Mueller v. Trump," Bruni wrote.

No, no, no.

The problem is the media has focused on Russia, Russia, Russia, while Donald Trump has focused on being president of the United States. He is succeeding. People notice.

  1. Wow, one of them finally noticed the smoke-screen-and-break-contact tactics that Trump uses. Phenomenal brilliance right there Frank, only took you about 18 months longer than the deplorables.

  2. Thus we observe the lack of judgement of the Left in launching a witch hunt.

    Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton.

Which one says “witch” to you?

  3. Was talking to one of my sons about the Trump strategy in all this.

The strategy of the left seems to have been to try and goad Trump into firing Mueller in order to be able to accuse him of obstruction of justice. He hasn't done this, and the worm has turned due to this patience.

The miscalculation seems to stem from a poor reading of Trump's disposition. While he comes across as impetuous, he is much more measured and calculating than they have assumed. A man in his position has to have spent half his life with one form of litigation or another hanging over his head, yet there is no record whatsoever of him losing patience with any of it. He blurts out things over twitter, but his actual meaningful responses to things are not a reflection of this other activity at all.

Furthermore, all of the countermoves by Sessions and the congressional investigators seem to move in a synergistic pattern that quietly betrays a central coordination. They are all moving towards the same goals in a seemingly haphazard, independent manner.

Take a look at his twitter criticism of "Mr. Magoo". But he never fires him. Sure, could be that he doesn't want to have to get someone else approved, but just when you begin to give up hope you see moves made, and things "falling into place".

One thing to remember about the Mr. Magoo cartoons. All of those stunts with the cars and near accidents were carefully thought out and planned.

My thought is that Trump took a reading on the "Russia" thing early on and realized that if he wasn't behind it someone else high up the ladder was, and that if things were allowed to play out and insider counterintelligence used properly, it would become obvious as to whom it was. This was actually the simplest part. Using what resources he had available to him to get where we are now was the rocket science.

    1. The strategy of the left has been death by a thousand cuts. One negative story won’t kill so they flood the media with thousands to convince the lofos that he is as bad as they want them to think.

    2. They've been throwing negative at him for two years. How's that worked out for them?

Yeah that strategic theory of "Oh no! Now the lofo's/sheeple will hate Trump! Woe is us! What do we do?" is pretty much proven incorrect. It's time to take it behind the barn and cap it.

    3. Isn't it amusing observing the smug, so called educated elitist flounder with their assumptions that assumes they are dealing with a everyday Republican type person, fools.

  4. Democrat media clowns, and their D.C. politicians, remind me of a poem by J.V. Cunningham:

"I had gone broke, and got set to come back,
And lost, on a hot day and a fast track,
On a long shot at long odds, a black mare
By Hatred out of Envy by Despair."

  5. "sooner or later you have to produce a witch. And the Left does not have one." I think you meant the Right does not have a Witch. The Left has Hillary who is a Real Witch.

  9. Donald Trump is the Wizard of Oz incarnated. While everyone is entranced by the angry face on the big Twitter screen, PJDT is standing behind the curtain, pulling the levers of government to get things done.

  11. But, but, but...Trump lacks Criminal Intent in using his cell phone. And besides, he wiped it with a cloth afterward, and actually before, too.
