Morgan Freeman feels the Trump Effect

Morgan Freeman just earned his place in the Trump Effect Hall of Shame, which houses those who were foolish enough to get in a feud with Donald Trump.

Such feuds are senseless because nothing short of a "hold my beer" moment puts a person more at risk. And what do you gain? Nothing.

No one is safe, not even an actor who played God. Twice.

Well, George Burns is. The dead are smart enough to keep their traps shut.

Freeman, not so much.

11 days into Trump's presidency, the Hill reported, "Morgan Freeman on Trump: 'It feels like we are jumping off a cliff.'"

The actual quote was "As for politics today, I supported Hillary in the election, and now it feels like we are jumping off a cliff."

Indeed, for Freeman, that was what was about to happen.

A little over a year later, on February 20, Zoom TV reported, "Actor Morgan Freeman, who claims to be a ‘fierce opposer of (Donald) Trump and (Steve) Bannon’ in his Twitter bio, has spoken out against the US president in light of the recent school shooting in Florida. In a strongly-worded tweet, Freeman, 80, wrote, 'Funerals are being held today for the teenagers lost in this senseless assault rifle massacre. @realDonaldTrump is teeing off on the par-4 7th hole right about now. Shame on you, Mr. President.'"

Today, CNN reported, "Women accuse Morgan Freeman of inappropriate behavior, harassment."

An accusation is not the same as an act.

However, he apologized. To 8 women. Maybe he should heal himself, then worry about The Donald.

Freeman brings the number of inductees in the Trump Effect Hall of Shame to 61.

  1. Welcome to the club Mr. Freeman.

This one is bittersweet. I don’t like his politics but he has been a great ambassador for Mississippi. We need and appreciate all of the good press we can get. Freeman supported many things here and still lives here. But....... he doesn’t get a pass for such dispicable behavior.

Who’s next? Sounds like a god name for an album!!

  2. I shed no tears. The first rule of the office place is don’t touch women, unless they initiate it, like a hug. Rules 2-5 are the exact same thing. When are these knuckleheads gonna learn?

  3. Politics aside, he stared at their bodies!!! Oh the humanity!! Gimme a break. What's wrong with these women that they can't handle men LOOKING at them? if that's a problem, they can wear burqas when they go out in public. If you leave your house, expect some people to look at you. Some strangers might even STARE at you if you are particularly good looking. If that bothers you, stay the effing home with your cats.

    1. Agree 100%!

As usual with these things, it's gone too far. I have no problem at all with pervs like Harvey Weinstein or Bill Clinton being prosecuted, they actually did commit crimes against women.

Now this MeToo madness has spread to any time a man has any contact with a woman whatsoever, even looking at one is grounds for an accusation of harassment.

That said, it's hard for me to defend Freeman, who has proven to be a good actor with a wonderful voice but who is also an idiot Liberal without the sense God gave a goose.

I would sure appreciate it if actors would simply act, and keep their idiot ideas to themselves! I call it the "Schwartzenegger Effect"- makes it impossible to see the actor as a proud brave upstanding hero, when they've been revealed to have no backbone or moral standards.

  4. That inappropriate contact with women gotta be nipped in the bud.

  5. Freeman narrated one of those scaremongering white-background propaganda videos trying to convince people that we were "at war" with Russia because of the collusion nonsense. The article cited in the list isn't his lowest moment.
