Never trust a Never Trumper

We have a rogue prosecutor. He has sent agents to raid the homes and offices of the president's former campaign manager and his personal lawyer.

This outrage has liberals gloating, be they on the left or be they on the right of your television screens.

Decades of chatter about civil rights turn out to be a facade. They no more care about the Constitution than a Canada goose does.

And the Never Trump wimps once again side with the Big Government Deep State. All their years of yammering about smaller government also was Fake Opinion.

Lies.

Ben Shapiro heads the list.

"This week, the FBI raided the office, hotel room and home of President Trump's personal attorney and self-described "fixer," Michael Cohen. According to various media reports, the Department of Justice signed off on a warrant for the search; presumably, the law enforcement agency is searching for evidence regarding Cohen's $130,000 payment to pornography actress Stormy Daniels, who allegedly had a one-night stand with Trump in 2006. Cohen has openly stated that he paid Daniels to shut up about her peccadillo with Trump -- and he has said that Trump had no knowledge of the payment," Shapiro wrote.

"That presents a problem. If Cohen paid off Daniels without Trump's knowledge, that raises the question as to whether their agreement was binding. If not, then Trump may have been party to a violation of campaign finance law, since a $130,000 in-kind donation is well above any legal limit. And if Cohen and Trump coordinated that arrangement, none of their communications on the matter are subject to attorney-client privilege."

In-kind donation?

Shapiro's charge is as phony as he is.

Oh, people give him a hard time when he tries to talk on college campuses because they think he is a conservative.

But he ain't.

He openly opposes the man who is carrying out the conservative agenda.

At the risk of being sued for libel, I say Shapiro is not deplorable.

For years we have had this Punch-and-Judy show on cable news between the Red Team and the Blue Team, but no we see the show was a distraction from abuses of power by a growing police state.

He called his column, "The Death of the DOJ and the FBI."

GOOD. Law enforcement is a local and state matter. When you put it in federal hands, you get Stasi.

  1. Shapiro said on-the-record during the Republican primaries that he thought the country would be better off with HRC in the White House. That right there tells you everything you need to know about the "man".

  2. The former head of the FEC has already stated publicly that the "campaign donation" argument is bogus. To be campaign related and subject to donation limits, the payment would have had to be made ONLY because Trump was a candidate, and for NO other reason. In this instance, there is no proof of that, e.g., it could just as easily have been made to hide Trump's alleged indiscretion from his wife Melania.

  4. I used to listen to Ben Shapiro's radio program on the way to work for years. It was really the only bearable choice because I live in Southern California. During the election he and his co-host were so ridiculously arrogant and self-important, they were eventually taken off and replaced. At one point Ben Shapiro told pro-Trump listeners to go to hell and stop listening...so we did. He's a bright guy, but clearly his entire identity is wrapped up in the idea that President Trump and those who support him are inferior to him. I think he can't stand being irrelevant even to those he looks down on.

  5. One of the spiritual anchors of conservative thought is our appreciation of humility. We share the opinion that no men should have the ability to control the economy. What Shapiro shares with other so called conservative never Trumpers is their arrogance, their

  7. Shapiro says what he is paid to say. Several years ago he said he thought the Republican party needed someone like Trump to run. Later on Trump runs and he turns on a dime.

He's a bigger whore than Stormy Daniels.

    1. Shapiro, like Surber, works for himself. As a real conservative, I support most of Ben's thinking. Unlike Donald Trump, Shapiro is a conservative and he doesn't break the sanctity of marriage by screwing porn actresses and playmates.

    8. Gadfly - one is not a conservative if they prefer Hillary Rodham to Donald Trump. On hundreds of issues, Rodham is far, far to the left of our President.

Anyone who thinks Shapiro is a Conservative and no just a paid shill like Bill Kristol and the rest at National Review is truly a Gadfly (whatever that is).
Like money doesn't create character, it reveals it! So too, has Trump revealed who true conservatives are and who the phonies are. MAGA!

    1. All Mueller has now to save his "most honorable man in DC" fake reputation is martyrdom and victimhood from being canned. This was a gamble to get himself out of a jam but he has now lost the public's (misinformed) trust that he was an stand-up guy. He isn't and never has been and the public is getting that clue. Add Mueller to Don's list of Trump Effect.

  10. Hard to believe people, including Ben Shapiro, can get the meaning of laws so 'back ass-ward'. Federal election law 'in kind' rules are for donations TO the candidate, not a payment the source of which is reputed to be personal money FROM Michael Cohen. Regarding the payment TO Daniels, if ultimately Cohen billed the campaign, and was reimbursed for the payment how does that become an illegal 'in kind' donation TO the campaign? The 'victim' would be the campaign. I hope I'm not the only one saying: 'wait, what are you saying? A hush money payment to a woman to keep her mouth shut is really a contribution to a campaign. This is Alice in Wonderland level jabberwocky.

  11. Since when did screwing pornstars and playmates disqualifies you from being a conservative? Seems to me you CAN screw pornstars and playmates and STILL want less government regulation and a stronger military. I think we should add screwing pornstars and playmates to our platform.

  12. I'm missing something. A campaign donation would go from Daniels to Trump. The $130k went from Trump's man to Daniels. How is this a campaign donation? How could it ever have been a campaign donation since it happened ten years before the campaign existed?

    1. Moreover, in kind specifically means no money. An example is when a business offers up the use of facilities for a campaign for free.

This is soo pathetic and ridiculous.

  14. Trump is not a conservative, as you should already know from his approving the genocide of the unborn with your tax dollars via PP. If you think he is, you are deluded.

Conservatives are also big on rule of law and due process. A guy who wants to ethnically cleanse the illegals without same is not a conservative, he's a fascist.

You may be under the impression that the Donald is a friend of the right. He ain't.

  17. What’s fascinating to me is that the Never-Trumpers like Shapiro dislike Trump for his character flaws. Forget about policies, when they talk about Trump they cite his sex life, his tweeting, his refusal to act “Presidential.” Here’s something that they miss, because they are not very religious: Trump has done more to take the jackboot of the Left off the face of Christians than anyone in my memory. He’s a sinner who actually understands religious liberty and tells his appointees to make sure they are respected, even if Christians are the ones trying to exercise those rights. I pray for Trump’s success.
