Make them build cars nobody wants

Barack Obama was the "That 70s Show" of politics. Every dumb idea liberals had in that woebegone decade -- weakening our military, radicalizing racial differences, and of course, using the Environmental Protection Agency to help de-industrialize the United States.

And once again, this resulted in a patriotic American president who restored sanity to the world. No more appeasing evil.

Which leads to Scott Pruitt who is doing such a good job as EPA administrator that the Obama crowd want to knock him out. Apparently he is the first EPA director to get death threats.

That does not stop him from doing his job -- or speaking out.

"I think the focus in the past has been on making manufacturers in Detroit, making manufacturers in various parts of the country make cars that people aren’t going to buy, and our focus should be on making cars that people actually purchase more efficient," Pruitt told CNS News and other news outlets.

"To have arbitrary percentages of our fleet made up of vehicles that aren’t going to be purchase, that defeats the very purpose of what the CAFE standards are supposed to address."

And arbitrary the numbers are. Marxists pluck some number out of the air for fuel mileage requirements for no reason at all. To save oil? We re almost swimming in domestic oil -- without touching offshore oil outside the Gulf of Mexico.

"This president has shown tremendous courage to say to the American people that America is going to be put first, and I think this mid-term evaluation, the auto sector, the importance of auto manufacturing in this country, the president is again saying, America is going to be put first, and we have nothing to be apologetic about with respect to the progress we’ve made in reducing emissions as a country," he said.

"We’ve led the world with respect to reduction of GHG, mobile sources and otherwise through technology and innovation, and the auto sector from my perspective has been the leader in achieving that through better design and through better technology, and that’s exciting, and we should celebrate that as a country."

Nothing will ever please Marxists short of the death of American industry.

  2. Pruitt is the right man for the job and is doing a great job. Threats from activist enviro leftists are to be taken seriously. They are among the most deranged of the lunatic left.

    1. Yesseree, he must be the right guy. Last night even Butt Bare and his panel of smartypantses including Karl Rove went after Pruitt for 'corruption and bad moves' that "embarrassed" Trump and his Eminence Kelly. Yet thier own Master's Flagship the WSJ had refuted every claim against Pruitt's "extravagance" with actual numbers the day before. If Trump keeps him at least he can say he told Fox News to stick it along with many others.
Eisenhower made a real mistake when he dumped Patton on demands of the press( and his many jealous enemies) for behavior that only discredited Patton himself but had nothing to do with the will and ability to win in relentless war. There are only so many good men available for such a task, and Trump seems to know now how few he really has to rely on.

  3. "Arbitrary percentages?" Hmmm. Do you mean like a 10 per cent ethanol blend? Replacing 10 per cent of our gasoline with ethanol has got to be one of the most arbitrary, misguided, expensive, and destructive (to the land, rivers, and machinery that runs on gasoline) boondoogles that our "representatives" have ever saddled us with. I propose placing one gasoline pump at every gasoline station that sells 100 per cent gasoline. Let consumers actually have a choice and we'll see just how long the ethanol mandate can survive. - Elric

    1. And don't forget that the ethanol mandate increased the cost of corn artificially, making food more expensive for many people.

    2. Not just food. The higher fuel costs for ethanol blends means that everything delivered by truck will cost more. - Elric

    3. I think the ethanol mandate will be gone on November 4, 2020, the day after the election.

    4. Our local Caseys has ethanol-free gas at 30 cents a gallon more than the corn-fed fuel. The math doesn't seem to work there.

    5. Browsing the garden department of the local WallyWorld I noticed they had individual gallon cans of ethanol-free gasoline for $19 and change. I realize ethanol is not good for small engines but that seems a bit of a gouge.

    6. To Straight8:

You got a straight 8 engine? Cool!

Here it's Oliver's Fuel and Oil, and non-ethanol as runs about 30 cents above the 10 per cent ethanol blend at the local gas stations.

The thing is, without the 10 per cent ethanol mandate and accompanying Renewable Fuel Credits some refineries are required to purchase, and other BS, the price of regular gasoline would come down. - Elric

    7. If non-ethanol gas is 30c more than 10% ethanol, that seems fairly reasonable. Replace the ethanol, representing 10% of the fuel, with gas and you spend 10% more for the extra gas. In other words, the ethanol is essentially worthless, which I believe is almost true.

  5. Pruitt’s junket to Paris on the tax payer’s dime is all part of the graft that rots from the head of a self dealing crook. Nothing “patriotic” about a cornered crook flailing about trying to cover his crimes.

    2. Yeah. Watching Obama flail about in his incompetence wasn't much fun. Decent people understand the picture it presents to the rest of the world when you have such an incompetent in office.

Trump is a vast improvement over what the DimoKKKRats have supplied.
