America First instead of diplomacy

After a year of President Trump heckling Rocket Man on Twitter instead of sending a special envoy to North Korea to appease the Kim dynasty again, Kim Jong Un finally is willing to negotiate with South Korea.

But wait, there's more.

Trump forced NATO allies to live up to their promises on military spending.

Trump also is moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.

Trump also is forcing the United Nations to reduce spending, withdrawn from funding anti-American agencies at the UN, and announced he may cut funding to Pakistan, Palestine, and other belligerents.

Trump also got Red China to agree to invest a quarter-trillion in the United States, including $83.7 billion in West Virginia (annual GDP $74.9 billion).

So how does the press interpret this?

From New York magazine:
Merkel’s Efforts to Teach Trump About Diplomacy Didn’t Go Well
Thank goodness. What has diplomacy gotten her? Germans are up to their ass in Muslim refugees who rape their women.

From that New York magazine article:
A New York Times report on how Trump has changed U.S. foreign policy sheds new light on Merkel’s overtures to Trump. In January a Merkel spokesperson said that during a phone call with the president, Merkel had “explained” the international community’s obligations toward refugees under the Geneva Convention. In a call around this time, the chancellor also tried to give Trump a lesson on Ukraine’s history and strategic importance. According to the Times, “German officials were alarmed by Mr. Trump’s lack of knowledge, but they got even more rattled when White House aides called to complain afterward that Ms. Merkel had been condescending toward the new president.”
I am sorry, but I doubt the second-worse chancellor in German history can teach anything about negotiating to the author of "The Art of the Deal."

Meanwhile, from our British betters at The Guardian:
Why Trump’s funding threat to Palestinians is even more dangerous than Jerusalem move
Dangerous to whom?

The Palestinians have been waging a war of terrorism against Israel for 70 years, signing up with whichever sponsor with rockets they can find.

What's Britain gonna do? Not invite Trump to Harry's wedding? That will spare Melania from Prince Philip drooling on her.

Oh, and the New Yorker is worried about Iran:
Iran in Turmoil — to Trump's Delight
In the early days of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khomeini famously dismissed an aide’s concerns about rising inflation. Economics, the Supreme Leader quipped, was “for donkeys. The 1979 revolution was not about the price of watermelons.”
Four decades later, however, the revolution’s future may depend on the price of eggs and other staples that recently shot up by almost forty per cent. Since December 28th, Iran has been swept by popular street protests in dozens of cities, triggered by the oil-rich nation’s economic woes. The death toll has topped twenty. Arrests are in the hundreds. The turmoil is the worst since the 2009 Green Movement challenge—then over allegations of fraud in a Presidential election—that dragged on for six months.
The unrest has also further increased tensions between Tehran and Washington. From vacation at Mar-a-Lago, President Trump seemed to delight in Iran’s situation. “Many reports of peaceful protests by Iranian citizens fed up with regime’s corruption & its squandering of the nation’s wealth to fund terrorism abroad,” he tweeted, on Friday. “Iranian govt should respect their people’s rights, including right to express themselves. The world is watching! #IranProtests.”
The Administration’s tone has become more belligerent in the new year, with Trump alluding to support for regime change “Iran is failing at every level despite the terrible deal made with them by the Obama Administration,” Trump tweeted, on New Year’s Day. “The great Iranian people have been repressed for many years. They are hungry for food & for freedom. Along with human rights, the wealth of Iran is being looted. TIME FOR CHANGE!”
On Tuesday, the White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, called the protests “an organic, popular uprising.” She said that the international community could no longer sit silent. “America longs for the day when Iranians will take their rightful place alongside the free people of the world,” she told reporters.
Oh no! Four decades of failed U.S. diplomacy is about to be reversed. Another member of the Axis of Evil may fall!

Another Trump success.

The left is livid.

And unable to stop America from being great again.

Please enjoy my two books about the press and how it missed the rise of Donald Trump.

The first was "Trump the Press," which covered his nomination.

The second was "Trump the Establishment," which covered his election.

  1. President Trump, in one year, has outperformed Foggy Bottom's best efforts of the last forty years while simultaneously draining the Department of State swamp. If the Progressive Left thought 2017 was bad, their heads are going to explode in 2018. I think I'll make an investment in Personal Portable Splatter Shields (R). - Elric

  2. The press may not work in foggy bottom but they have foggy brains.

  3. Sophistry? (from the idiot's tweet)

    Shamed by you English?

  4. "So how does the press interpret this?" With
HORROR, and Trembling, and Invective. Because they ARE the enemedia.

  5. Amen, Don! As usual, you nail the issues involved. With any luck, after 8 years Trump will have erased every remnant of the disastrous Obama.

Interesting thought that Merkel is the second-worst German Chancellor with the worst being Hitler.

That ranking seems inarguable today, but a reassessment might be due in 50 years after Germany has been turned into a satrapy of the global Caliphate with ethnic Germans driven to Poland, Hungary or the Czech Republic.

  6. --But the Palestinians are not a weak company to be taken over.--

What lefty hogwash. If the "Palestinians" were a company they would have gone broke and disappeared decades ago.

  7. Sophistry of diplomacy which accomplishes nothing but the need for more sophistry of diplomacy. Can't believe the moron wrote that as if it's some kind of failure or shortcoming.

And I know I'm being profoundly naïve, but I can't get over how many Americans are pissed that Trump is putting America first. I know it's a shock to the system because very few presidents have done it before, but damn.

  8. All the wannabe clowns need to know about Trump’s Presidency:

“I tell you folks, It's harder than it looks”

  9. i,for one, am enjoying president trump
i love alpha males and i love a fighter for rights

president trump, keep fighting for our country's sovereignty
keep fighting for our religious freedoms
keep fighting for the enemy that is in our country to be outed
i could go on and on
    you get the gist

i pray for our country everyday
and for trump and his team to have wisdom and continued courage to fight for our beloved country
