American media misses another big news story: Hezbollah’s fall

President Trump made overseas visits in May, June, and July. The one in May was particularly historic as Air Force One became the first passenger plane to fly directly from Riyadh to Israel since the creation of modern Israel in 1948.

The press ignored the acknowledgement that Arabs and Jews are working together to battle Islamic terrorism. Instead we were treated to nonsense about handshakes.

Then there were the handshakes by the President Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The media went on and on and on about it, as if they still were reporters for a junior high newspaper.

From Maggie Haberman of the New York Times:
President Trump rarely says he needs his hand held for anything. Unless he’s around President Emmanuel Macron of France.
“He’s a great guy — smart, strong, loves holding my hand,” Mr. Trump joked about his French counterpart in an Oval Office interview with The New York Times on Wednesday.
“People don’t realize, he loves holding my hand — that’s good!” the president said of Mr. Macron, who invited Mr. Trump to attend Bastille Day festivities in Paris last week.
The budding warmth in their relationship follows an initially awkward first encounter at a NATO meeting in Brussels in May, during which Mr. Macron firmly shook Mr. Trump’s hand to signal that he would not be intimidated. In the weeks after, Mr. Trump said he intended to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate accord, a move he anticipated would frustrate Mr. Macron.
Instead, the French president called Mr. Trump a few weeks ago and invited him to join the annual Bastille Day celebration, which also marked the 100th anniversary of the United States’ entrance into World War I.
Got that?

The president needs his hand held -- according to Miss Haberman.

Obviously the press corps does not know what is going on.

The press dismissed as ceremonial the sword dances with the Saudis and the dinner with the Macrons at the Eiffel Tower.

Sightseeing is what they called Trump's Bastille Day visit with the Macrons.

Deals were being cut.

Four months later, we get this from Arab News:
US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday agreed on the need to partner with allies to respond to the destabilization activities of Hezbollah and Iran in the region.
The two leaders’ telephone conversation came in the aftermath of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s resignation, which he announced during a recent trip to Saudi Arabia.
“Both presidents agreed on the need to work with allies to counter Hezbollah’s and Iran’s destabilizing activities in the region,” a statement from the White House said.
Hariri has accused Iran and Hezbollah of dominating Lebanon and attempt to covertly target his life, which prompted his resignation, and drew comparisons to the similar “atmosphere that prevailed before the assassination of martyr Rafik Al-Hariri.”
“I refer explicitly and unequivocally to Iran, which sows sedition, devastation and destruction in any place it settles in, as proven by its interferences in the internal affairs of the Arab countries, in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain and Yemen, driven by a deep hatred of the Arab nation and an overwhelming desire to destroy and control it,” Hariri said, when he announced his resignation on November 4.
Hariri traveled to Paris for a meeting with Macron over the weekend upon the French president’s invitation, and also to dispel allegations he was being held against his will in Saudi Arabia, and was expected to return to Lebanon for the Independence Day celebrations on Wednesday.
The leader of the free world is working with free world leaders to quash the terrorists, in a manner that lets others to lead the battle. Trump still leads the war.

Arabs are handling Lebanon. Trump learned from Reagan's mistake in sending in the Marines. There are limits to American power. Arabs don't want to be invaded by Americans.

Trump treats allies and adversaries like equals.

When a Macron takes the Trumps to the Eiffel Tower, or the Saudis sword dance with the president and Cabinet members, or Chairman Xi makes the Trumps the first Western leaders to dine at the Forbidden City, they do so not just to honor him, but primarily for domestic consumption.

Trump is a hit outside our country. He is the most significant part of the populist wave. World leaders want to align themselves with him to show the dissatisfied in their lands that they are with the people.

It is complicated.

The tide of the war on terrorists reversed on November 8, 2016.

Obama's buffoonery in overthrowing the Libyan regime (they now sell slaves in Libya), in embracing the Castro regime, in sending pallets of money to Iran in the dead of night, and in not challenging the North Koreans brought misery to the world.

Barack Obama is intellectually lazy and naive. The world is worse for his eight years as president -- just as our nation is.

But Trump is bringing the world together.

The American press is missing the story -- just as it blew last year's election.

  1. There are none so blind as the enemedia which will not see the truth, and will not print the truth.

    1. Enema-media. It's easier to stir turds than do real work.

  2. Nice story on WV in the NY Post today:

  3. The Fake News Media is not missing the story. They just refuse to cover it objectively. They are the propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party and their mission is to destroy Trump just as it is their mission to destroy every Republican president. Party over country. - GOC

    1. In spite of Don's nostalgic view of the"press' DSW has the right take. There is no press. Just guys doing what they are told by very very rich men. They don' care no more. Life is so mellow now.

    2. We have a winner.

    3. Sad when you think about it. What kind of future can a college journalism school graduate see for himself? Is there a foreign office and first class air tickets waiting for him? Maybe if he sucks up to the right people. So he finds other employment. Or he sucks.

  4. Those who call themselves "journalists" today don't have a clue what NEWS really is.....don't even suspect!

In addition to all the things listed above they totally missed the single biggest thing to happen in the Pacific in 6 decades.

The Korean war started in June 1950. The north attacked across the 38th parallel to start it. The American counter attack drove the NORKS all the way back to the Yalu River, the border with China!

The Chinese considered N korea to be their "doorstep" and entered the fray, with great loss of life to the Americans who turned and ran for their lives.

The lesson was learned that the Chinese would NOT stand for America bothering the Norks. This doctrine continued for 60 years. Nobody could criticize N Korea or China would jump to it's defense!

Between Trump's meeting with President Xi early this year, in FL, and on this last trip, the Chinese are willing to work to help defuse this situation before it gets worse. This was a stunning triumph of diplomacy by President Trump, one that had eluded all other US leaders for 60 years.

And the media is too stoopid to even realize what happened, and it's meaning to the future of that entire area, let alone write anything good about it!

There is a study that shows the average media person to be 27 yrs old and their only experience is working on political campaigns!

Jeez! Does it show or what?

  5. "Journalist" heads are empty and devoid of any vestige of logic, reason, common sense, original thinking, or curiosity. That's why they call them echo chambers. Anything placed in them reverbrates back and forth at constantly increasing velocity and amplitude until it spews forth as Progressive Liberal Propaganda. - Elric

  6. The media still writes about how poor President Trump is on foreign policy. Hah

  7. There are none so foolish as those who try to interpret complex foreign events based solely on their insular view of domestic politics.
And, no, that's not an endorsement of the above.

  8. My father flew a delegation of State Department negotiators from Cairo to Tel Aviv prior to the Egypt Isreali peace accords. First plane to make that trip. Same with Moscow to Peking with Kissinger aboard. Also a first. MAC 89th Squadron.

  9. Presented without comment: Andrzej Duda is not verified by Twitter.

    1. No wonder the NYT thinks he's Putin, then.
