Trump may have stopped North Korea

Neil Cavuto on Fox News and Fox Business News disappointed me by blowing off President Trump as a lightweight.

Not today.

Cavuto didn't board the Trump Train today, but he gave Donald Trump credit for getting Red China to at least publicly stop economic activity with North Korea.

It may be a charade.

But President Trump has forced Chairman Xi to cut the strings of his puppet, Kim Jong Un.

From NBC News:
President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he had signed an executive order authorizing additional sanctions against North Korea by targeting individuals, companies and financial institutions that do business with what he called "this criminal rogue regime."
Speaking before a meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Trump said his goal is the "complete denuclearization" of North Korea and added that the nation led by Kim Jong Un posed a “grave threat to peace and security in our world.”
The president said that for 25 years North Korea had been allowed to get away with “abuse” of the international financial system to fund its weapons development program.
Trump noted that he'd signed the executive order just as China's central bank "has told their other banks ... to immediately stop doing business with North Korea." The president praised Chinese President Xi Jinping for the "very bold move."
As Cavuto pointed out, presidents from Bush 41 forward have been unable to get China to do more than lip service when it comes to North Korea.

Those presidents never took North Korea serious.

They thought Kim Jong Un was harmless.

He has a nuke?

That's cute.

President Trump took this very serious, and people mocked him. Then they attacked Trump, and claimed he wanted to start World War III.

On Tuesday, President Trump in the United Nations called Kim Jong Un the Rocket Man, setting off scolding from the experts.

You know, the ones who have preached appeasement for 25 years, while the Kim Jong dynasty joined the nuclear club, and acquired intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Recall that Trump dined with Xi at Mar-a-Lago in April. In the middle of the meal, Trump launched 59 missiles at a Syrian air base.

Pass the ketchup.

Xi ain't dumb. He got the message. I think the Rocket Man may want to find another country to live in.

We shall see.

  1. And it's as good of a time as any to tell the UN to piss off: if we have to keep doing the heavy-lifting there's no need to send the UN any money, and we'll keep the 22% we send them and make it work for us. Seriously, does anyone even try to defend the UN any more as being useful beyond being a make-work for international bureaucrats?

  2. I noticed that NO ONE commented on the fact that the bank of China pays the Trump companies a lot of money in rent for its Trump Tower presence but that didn't stop Trump from doing the right thing for the country.

NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Neil - anyone - care to give this president credit for being a true patriot?

  3. A small bit of history is in order here.

The Norks started the Korean war in June 1950 when almost 100,000 of them attacked across the 38th parallel. They nearly ran the S Koreans into the sea until counterattacked by the landings at Inchon. By fall UN troops, the vast majority of them Americans, were on the south side of the Yalu River, the border with China!

The Chinese, not wanting to see Americans on their border, snuck 12 divisions of the Chinese Army (120,000 men) across the river, and behind American lines, over several days...then they attacked. The Americans ran for their lives as the Chinese punished them mightily....and at the cost of many lives.

From this a lesson was learned. The Chinese considered North Korea to be their front doorstep and would attack anyone there, fiercely. This doctorine was continuously upheld for the next 67 years! Any American attempt to rein in the Norks was met with 100% resistance from the Chinese. Thanks to the diplomatic skills of Pres Trump, this doctrine changed on April 7 of this year, as pointed out above!

On that day the Chinese President was meeting with the POTUS at Mar Largo and was personally informed by Trump, of the Tomahawk missle strike on Syria taking place that day. Also during that meeting the two leaders reached some sort of agreement re N Korea. They evidently decided to work together to do something about the nuclear weapons program of the Norks. China stopped buying coal from the Koreans almost immediately. China is eventually going to buy American coal, something badly needed by the Chinese as it is a major source of power.

The idea that these two leaders could agree on the problem child of the North, was a 180 change in American foreign policy that had existed for 67 years....and the ignorant American main stream media missed it completely. Not a word in any press outfit. I doubt that any of them are smart enough to even understand what happened here!

If the story, as quoted by Don above, is true this will be another step in that cooperative venture. This is far better a possible solution to a major problem than any war would ever be!

I am glad to see that the POTUS has gotten some progress on that front.....and hope for some more shortly!

  4. Neil Cavoto spent years on NPR taking about business while not knowing much about it. So now he's in FoxBusiness talking about politics. Which anyone can talk about. Good place for him.

But his "style" of asking guests questions and then interrupting them half way through the first sentence with his husky, rough voice that he seems to be in love with, makes him a far better candidate to do sports talk show radio.

A bit ago Mr. Cavoto survived open heart surgery. wish him well. I saw him about two years earlier on a YouTube replay of an interview he did after not seeing him for at least 10 years. I could not believe how incredibly fat he had gotten. He always was a little chunky, but he looked like he'd put on at least 50 pounds...which did not remotely fit on his frame. Whatever the reason for the weight gain, I could not believe that he and his doctors allowed the situation to get that far out of control. Compared to him, Donna Braziel, Mike Huckabee and Kim Kardashian are are physical specimens.

    1. As you mentioned, Cavuto has the annoyingly rude habit of interrupting his guests before they can finish their first sentence. I presume that is to let the audience know how smart he is. Cannot bear to watch him.

  5. Donald Trump - a wiser man than I - calls the Pudgy dictator "Rocket Man", where I would call Kim "young-'un" "Rocket BOY" and that might be a bridge too far.

DJT knows JUST how far to push.

    1. Which brings to mind, Erik, what I thought was a damned good movie, October Sky, anagram for Rocket Boys, about our West Virginia homies. Jake Gyllenhall's turned into an insufferable asshat, but he was awesome in this.

BTW, Big D, "pass the ketchup" was f---in BRILLIANT.

I was surprised - or, on second thought, NOT - this didn't get more coverage yesterday. I felt it indicated we have reliable intelligence that Fatboy's command is about to be terminated with extreme prejudice. You know, a coup I could behind, not like Maxine Waters' bullshit.

  6. This is off-topic, but related, ...

Admiral Michael Rogers, with his unplanned meeting with Trump, is the reason we are even at this juncture.

    He is a national hero!

  7. Oh, and one other thing: I'm trying to recall the name of a prior President who won the Cold War without firing a shot...

    Oh yeah, I remember!

  8. See how Democrats coddled North Korea:

--Meet Wendy Sherman, architect of appeasement disasters in nuclear negotiations with North Korea and Iran
By Ed Lasky and Thomas Lifson
The Pentagon says that North Korea likely has a nuclear weapon that can be mounted on a missile. Hats off to Wendy Sherman, architect of the 1999 nuclear deal with North Korea that was supposed to prevent this sort of thing. In return for hundreds of millions of dollars of food and oil at a time a million or more people were starving to death under the North Korean regime, the United States received meaningless concessions that did little or nothing to stop North Korea’s nuclear program. That deal was described by former Secretary of State James Baker as “appeasement.”--

  9. Wendy Sherman is so deep in the swamp she can never get out. She couldn't negotiate her way out of a wet paper bag. Her dealings with the North Korean were disingenuous. Her dealings with the Iranians may be traitorous. Never send a woman to negotiate with medieval societies. It is perceived as a fatal weakness. - Elric

  10. HRC and Obama with their action against Kaddafi showed NoKo that giving up your WMD just might get you killed by the US. Bush had Libya give up their WMD in exchange for him staying in power over his very tribal nation. We knew what happened in tribal Yugoslavia when Tito died; apparently HRC and Obama didn't. So now Trump has to convince in some way we are not after Un's head, as much as it might be desirable on moral grounds. Maybe a non-aggression pact with NoKo utilizing Russia, China, Japan and SoKo as sponsors for it as I wrote the President. But then Un could say Germany and the USSR/Russia had one when they invaded Poland, but Germany violated it when it felt it was to their advantage. Yet a possible nuclear war with VX nerve agent utilized by NoKo on Seoul, SoKo is not a pleasant thought.
