Your Fake News did win it for The Donald

Dear News Media:

You are right. Fake News did elect Donald Trump president.

Every time you made a big stink out of nothing, you pushed voters closer to him.

Remember this story?
Trump Mansplains the World to Female Reporter
Donald Trump insulted a female NBC News reporter during a live on-air interview Wednesday, calling her naïve. When Katy Tur stumbled over a question about immigration and crime, Trump cut her off and said, “Come on, try getting it out.” Trump continued: “Don’t be naïve. You’re a very naïve person,” he told her when she referred to the Pew Research Center as an independent source. He then followed up by telling her, “I mean, I don’t know if you’re going to put this on television, but you don’t know what you’re talking about.” Trump stuck to his guns on immigration and bashed Hillary Clinton as the “worst [secretary of state] in the history of the United States.”
Mansplains?

A man cannot tell a bad journalist she is bad?

Then there was this:
Trump Teases Critic for Being Paralyzed
Not content with insulting a female reporter’s intelligence and professionalism, Donald Trump apparently mocked a conservative critic for being paralyzed. Trump in an interview with NBC News was asked about columnist Charles Krauthammer, who is paralyzed from the waist down and has called Trump a “rodeo clown.” In response to criticism from Krauthammer and National Review columnist Jonah Goldberg, Trump said the following: “I went out, I made a fortune, a big fortune, a tremendous fortune… bigger than people even understand,” he said before discussing his plan to release financial statements. “Then I get called by a guy that can’t buy a pair of pants, I get called names?”
He made no mention of Dr. Krauthammer's wheelchair. None. The only mistake Trump made was pronouncing the surname with a "th" instead of a hard T, then H.

What were some of the others? There were so many to chose from. Oh yes, Hillary got schlonged by Obama. That was fun.

Remember?
Donald Trump's offhand comment this week about Hillary Clinton getting "schlonged" in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary was a racial dog whistle suggesting that Barack Obama is a "black rapist," according to Media Matters founder David Brock.
"What we're going to see — and what we got a taste of last night — was the misogynistic attacks on Hillary Clinton," Brock, the founder of the pro-Clinton super PAC Correct the Record, said Tuesday on MSNBC.
Schlonged, though, is not a euphemism for coitus. It is a New York City expression for losing bigly.

All these nonsense stories added up. And last November, Trump schlonged Hillary and the media.

The constant nit-picking 1. distracted from real issues, and 2. inoculated him when the Billy Bush tape came out.

Did the press learn?

No. The petty stuff continues. His two-week vacation? Turns out the White House is renovating the HVAC system, making it slightly unlivable for two weeks. Under the last several presidents, the White House has turned into a dump.

As I said in "Trump the Press," my book on the nomination:
While every presidential election is historic, few have included anything as entertaining as Trump’s nomination. The press committed mediacide by blowing its last shred of credibility trying to stop Trump. Making a billionaire the underdog was nearly impossible, but the Washington press corps was up to the task.
Congratulations.

  2. More than anything else, at least for me, Mr. T has been the powerful antidote to the deadly disease of PC that had infected this country. I'd gotten damn sick of these pogroms for regular folks who dared to utter REAL inconvenient truths, while the Left clapped with glee and called for more heads. Trump not only made it cool to tell Proggies where to shove it, he told them how deep. It was so badly needed. Silent Cal was a really good prez but he was not the guy we would have needed for these times. I knew we were winning when the Black Jesus called Mr. T a bullshitter. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Donald had just set up shop in Barry's head also. Just six months in, I've already had WAY more fun than I could possibly have imagined. Cruz or Rubio or Jeb? Oh dear Lord. We picked the right guy, y'all. And continuing props for Big D to book first class on The Train when it was still in development.. MAGA. MAGA.

  3. "Gallup began asking this question in 1972, and on a yearly basis since 1997. Over the history of the entire trend, Americans' trust and confidence hit its highest point in 1976, at 72%"...

1999; 55 percent of individuals trust the media.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2015; Four in 10 Americans trust the mass media.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2016; 32% say they have "a great deal" or "a fair amount" of trust (combined to get result)

Any guess as to what Gallup will come up this September?

Any quess as to whether or not they will report reliable numbers?

    Clownshow(s).

  4. Barack and Michelle look like the deferred maintenance types don't they? One of the maintenance items on the list is "yellowed" carpet. WTH? Yellowed from what? Dog urine? Smoke? Cheeto dust? Sounds like it wasn't cleaned.

    1. Hahaha! All of the above. My son actually got to meet Bo while doing a subsurface utility project at the WH. His assessment was: Nice dog but definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer. And the only woman I would peg as less of a housekeeper than Moochelle is Her Thighness. Ya seen one crusty white stain, ya seen em all, right Hill?

  5. I specifically remembered the "can't buy a pair of pants" thing. It was directed to J. Goldberg not C.K. Goldberg commented about it on the National Review Online.
