White males vote, too

Frederick R. Lynch is a government professor at Claremont McKenna College and the author of The Diversity Machine: The Drive to Change the White Male Workplace.

Even he now questions dismissing Trump voters as racist simply because white males do not want to be driven out of the workplace.

From Lynch:
There is a rather one-sided debate over what motivates Mr. Trump and his supporters. A wave of new books and articles still invoke stereotypes trotted out on election night: Mr. Trump’s “angry white voters” were motivated by racism, resentment, “whitelash,” declining economic or social status, irrational fears of economic or demographic change, or all of the above. They are deluded, confused Strangers in Their Own Land, as suggested by the title of a book by the sociologist Arlie Hochschild.
This thinly veiled scorn has inhibited deeper study of whether Mr. Trump’s white voters are responding to legitimate economic threats generated by what I have termed “the diversity machine.” This powerful policy juggernaut has quietly and questionably blended together two trends that threaten working- and middle-class whites.
How about that?

Someone gets it.

Lynch wrote:
The system of expanding diversity preferences and much immigration policy have often been formulated and imposed by bureaucrats and judges. But in several states, voters approved ballot measures like Michigan’s Proposition 2 banning ethnic preferences, or legislatures passed laws placing controls on illegal immigration (the latter, such as Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070, sometimes undone, in part or in whole, by the courts).
I can do him one better. In 1994, voters in California voted to prohibit illegal aliens from using non-emergency health care, public education, and other services in the state.

A federal judge vetoed the amendment to the state constitution. I don't think that was what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they ratified the U.S. Constitution.

But actions have consequences.

Since then, the state's Hispanic population has shot up at the expense of its white population, many of whom left to avoid the inevitable rise in state taxes to pay for all that free stuff.

While Lynch focused on economics, there also is a cultural element to this.

Liberals lecture white people on the benefits of multicultural diversity, but also chastise us for cultural appropriation when we buy a taco.

And heaven forfend if we suggest assimilation. I guess the only culture not allowed in America is the one that built this great nation.

He ended his column:
Since the election, many Democrats have been talking less about diversity and more about unifying cultural and economic commonalities. The new Democratic “Better Deal” populist blueprint put forward by Senator Charles Schumer of New York echoes his admiration for the New Deal by emphasizing strategies that would help all American workers.
Mr. Schumer knows his party must quickly and candidly address the question of why the white working and middle classes — groups who were the foundation of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal coalition — often support Mr. Trump.
Oh we know why.

Democrats kicked white people to the curb in favor of emerging minorities.

58% of white voters went with Trump.

If that is racist, what do we call 95% of black voters voting for Obama?

I suggest we try to get that genie of race back in the bottle. It has done enough damage.

  1. Hey, kicking white working-class men in the nuts must've been fun for the Democrats over the past decade.

Otherwise they wouldn't have done it with such glee.

Problem is, you can't take THAT back once you've done it.

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind. Good luck with that, Senator Schumer.

  2. "kicking white working-class men in the nuts must've been fun for the Democrats"

Women are getting a kick out of doing that by using law fare to drive men out of college and out of the workplace. I don't think that will end well.

  4. And how about the bleeding heart liberal family court system? By default they favor the women and emasculate the man parentally and financially. How's that working out? Women are beginning to wonder where all the good men are - while dragging around several spoiled brats from previous relationships. Men aren't stupid. They can spot a woman's modus operandi a mile away and simply decline to be her next victim. Welcome to the Brave New World, ladies. - Elric

  6. Since bureaucrats are downstream of academics, note that the opposite of diversity is university.

  8. This old, white, veteran, male's dander got raised permanently on November 8, 2016 when a good friend's live in girlfriend told me that we have to change to accept those who come to our country. That is the crust of the matter for this deplorable who is so old he campaigned for Goldwater.
The Left believes that what we have in America is not as good as what others want/need; so we must change everything we believe in, fought for and what the Founder's provided as a foundation for our country and culture because of some Leftist, Marxist ideology and what foreign cultures' say is correct.
I have had enough and my civil TEA Party manners are being overrun by a taint of intolerance for those who show so much disdain for my country and its basic Scotts-Irish culture per former Senator Webb.
Anymore it won't take much to set me off and as I say, at my age instead of a nursing home in my future, I may be one of the most dangerous people alive since what are they going to do to me; give me free government medical care, a roof over my head and 3 squares a day if I was evil or kill me when my best years are way behind me? But I would have the satisfaction of having at least punched someone in the nose if confronted by an Antifa Fascist or fellow traveler.
